so grosagotop stories we are fog for you on this wednesday july 31st. police in san francisco are searching for two people involved in a double stabbing overnight in the city's haight-ashbury neighborhood a live report on what happened. san jose state university is on high alert this morning while police are looking for a man who attacked another man on campus. we'll have the details coming up and it's back to the negotiating table as bart workers and union officials cannot come to an agreement on new contracts.

bridge. we are problem free of a high rise after the golden gate bridge ride we are incident free through marin county and problem free across the span. mark. >>mark:new this morning. we have learned of an attack on the san jose state campus. it happened just after 8:30 last night. the victim was walking with a group of people between the science building and martin luther king library when he got into an argument with another male. police say that's they struggled in the grass and at some point the victim had his head slammed into the concrete numerous times, causing "multiple injuries to the victim's face." an alert was sent out to the campus after the incident alerted students and faculty of the attack. >>darya:following a developing story out of san francisco where police are investigating a double stabbing. haight streets. that's near golden gate park. kron four's mike pelton is live at the scene with an update, mike?

mike >>: that it happened right behind me here. two men were responsible for the double standing. they do not have a good description of the suspects but they say they fled the area and at some type of more road a vehicle northbound on cnn. this all began early this morning our route to 20 when several witnesses saw the stabbing and caught 911. some sort of confrontation took place in police say the suspects that an adult woman believed to be in her '40's and the chest and another man in his 20s or 30s and abdomen. both transported to s.f. general with life- threatening injuries. authority's do not have a motive in this case but they are looking at surveillance video from several nearby businesses to help them to identify the suspect. at this point, obviously we know there was some sort of confrontation but we don't know of any possible connection between the suspect and victim. back to you.

also want people to start paying more into their pensions. 5 percent over the next four years. we talk to the unions and they said even if you give us the increase, if you increase of those two things, the health benefits and pension, we are actually going to make a less. we talked to both sides of the bargaining table. each side says the other side is lying. >>: we feel we've reached the moment where everyone needs to know what these details are. >>: we want to tell the public what's going on. we want to inform the media and we want to inform you of the trip. >>: where our current offer stands every employee's these extra money in their pocket. >>: and numbers that bart has been giving are false. they are not true. >>: what we are offering is something that the public is going to look at and think

of giving rides. cab drivers lined up their cars, then let them sit for two hours. they say they are furious over ride-share services such as lyft, uber and sidecar who are taking a slice of their profits. the mayor's office says it has no plans to try and regulate the ride sharing services. officials say it is a state issue. the california public utilities commission has weighed in on how to regulate smartphone-enabled rideshare services.

in a proposal. companies, such as lyft, uber and sidecar, would have to be licensed by the c-p-u-c, run background checks on drivers, have a driver- training program, and have a more stringent insurance policy. the c-p-u-c would require a

with all the 58 precincts reporting, cindy chavez, pictured on the left side, has won with 55-point-5 percent of the vote. teresa alvarado received 44-point-5 percent of vote. chavez will replace disgraced supervisor george shirakawa. whose charged with using more than 130- thousand dollars in public and campaign funds for personal use. officials are still counting provisional and last minute mail-in ballots over the next few days. >>mark:a federal appeals court says the bart police officer who the ninth circuit court of appeals rejected former officer johannes mehserle's claim, that he acted within his official capacity when he shot grant on a bart platform in 2009. the court says it is up to a jury to to determine whether mehserle was justified in the shooting. mehserle served 11- months in prison after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

>>darya:oakland police need your help to identify four women who may have witnessed a murder during a halloween party almost two years ago. police released these photos which were found on the victim's phone. 32 year old darian stone was shot and killed on el paseo drive back in november of 2011. investigators think the women may have met stone at a downtown club and witnessed the shooting but fled before police arrived. anyone with information is police. and it ofin the east bay, a former special education teacher has been charged with physically abusing young children with autism. 55 year old theresa allen- caulboy turned herself in yesterday after a warrant was issued for her arrest. she is accused of abusing six victims ranging in age from 5 to 7 years old. all

while she was teaching at antioch. prosecutors say other school workers saw her do things like knee a child in the chest and pin them to the ground. her lawyer says she received no prior complaints in her 11 years of teaching. to enter a plea on august hand stores. a bedbug infestation in two bay area goodwill warehouses have left them shut down, and loads of donated items have been thrown out. bedbugs were found at the 11th and mission san francisco warehouse last friday. everything there was thrown out. and it's been closed since. there was a possible bedbug sighting at the burlingame warehouse as well. at that facility, only the area where the bugs may have been seen is closed off. but a truck load of

>>mark: welcome back to the kron4 morning news. other stores we are following this morning. in richmond. nearly half of the home mortgages are under water. an estimated 46 now the city has come up with a plan which it says will help struggling homeowners day and their houses. on the steps of city hall, the mayor and supporters announced a plan for the city to buy mortgages from after banks. both current and delinquent . the city would buy the loan at fair market value. and allow the homeowner to refiance. the city says, if the banks do not agree to the plan, the city can take the action by using its eminent doman powers. in all, the city of richmond wants to buy 626- underwater loans with the intention of adding more homes, if the plan is

successful. they believe the action will help to keep neighborhoods stable. those against the plan say, it could make borrowing more expensive for the entire community. richmond would be the first city in the nation to take on local principal reduction. they're coordinated, appear to be athletic, and entertain the crowd at sporting events.
