francisco. >> our top story, the arrest of state senator leland yee in a corruption scandal. he made a gun control a signature issue of his campaign and is now accused of connecting people with gun traffickers. kron4 mike pelton is live outside of his home. >> late last night he was released from custody after a long day in court. when this lengthy, 137 complaint came out. everything about campaign contribution to gun trafficking. he is one of 26 people to appear in this complaint and officials stated that in recent years he traded favors in return for thousands of dollars for

campaign. this helped him a raise of debt. they stated that he raised money for his campaign for secretary of state. they accused him of trying to facilitate a done deal and that he'd dealt with an fbi agent all along. he was released and his attorney did not answer many questions but briefly spoke to was. >> this was a top priority, to get him released, we have been able to accomplish that. the future will hold, a lot of work, facing this case but that is it for today. >> the senator is facing seven charges that have a possible 125 year sentence if convicted. he is back in court on monday and the details is that there are allegations and we have posted this on our website at kron4.com >> continuing our team coverage on this case, kron4

will tran is live in front of the federal courthouse with two other people being charged in this case. >> the two that are being charged with him is bre raymond shrimp boy chow and keith jackson. supposedly according to investigators that he supposedly turned his life around was a model citizen. they stated that the senator wrote letters about him stating that he was someone offered change, he was working in the community and even talk to kids. the prosecutors did not buy any of this. here is a picture of him, he is 54 years old. he was arrested with 26

other people. he is also accused of laundering money to undercover agents. most of the suspects are late to the chinatown brotherhood association which chow runs. he is known as the leader of that organization. he went to jail in the '90s for gun charges as well. the other person arrested, the common denominator is keith jackson, he is 49 years old. he was the top school board leader in san francisco, he was the president of the school board, he was also arrested and accused of trying to bribe an undercover officials. >> also, he was charged with other things and he it supposedly did murder for hire. his son, 28 year-old also was arrested. there's

have problems getting to the bay bridge with a new accident bay reported. this is westbound 580 right at the 80 split. the drive time is still 22 minutes from the maze and from highway 24. this crash is blocking the left lane. >> more local news now. a san leandro man is behind bars this morning for stealing two puppies and putting them up for sale on craigslist. 30-year-old richard coleman was arrested after a woman reported that two german shepards had been stolen from her house in livermore. the woman then found the puppies listed for sale on craigslist. she met with coleman, confronted him, that's when he ran away. police arrested him a short time later. the puppies were unharmed and returned to the woman. >> the bay area had its own measles scare. now doctors say they're seeing a surge in cases of the infectious disease to our south. so far there have been 47 cases of measles reported in california. orange county has nearly half of those cases.with 14 new cases diagnosed just in the last two weeks.
