this is the bay area's news station. kron4 news at 11:00 starts now. >> now at 11:00 donald trump protests turned violent on the streets of burlingame. the demonstrators broke through barricades through eggs at police outside the hotel. good evening and welcome. several trump supporters say they were roughed up no serious injuries though. the protests expected to last through the weekend. here's the details. >> reporter: friday morning hundreds of protesters gathered outside the hyatt regionci.

>> i think a lot of people are appalled by the anger of the cruz and trump campaigns. >> they tried to keep this man from entering the hotel. they also blocked the highway and the entrances from the hyatt to keep the candidate from getting in. he eventually slipped bah past a front door. officers in riot gear formed a wall to keep protesters out. they also dropped a banner from this walkway smashed a window and hit one officer with an egg. five people were arrested during the riots. trump's speech lasted about an hour and the moment he left the convention the protest crowds began to thin out.

in burlingame kron4 news. >> things got messy before trump even arrived. by the time he rolled on in burlingame hundreds of protesters blocked the main entrance to the hyatt. so he walked between barricades to get into the hotel. once inside he told the audience his strange entrance was like crossing the border. he also called for party unity and outlined his strategy for beating hillary clinton. >> i can already tell you, just give me the name of the person and i'll tell you exactly what state she's going win and what state she's going to lose. i'm different because i'll win states that nobody else can. and as i focus on hillary, as i say crooked hillary she'll go down easier than in the of the people we just beat. >> afterwards he went back to

bigoted flat out difficult to look at. the latest messages exchanged between two on duty officers. they included racial slur, homophobic language and officers will take new training courses on preventing discrimination. >> 2,000 members of this police department and the actions of these few officers, however reprehensible and disgusting, would not only betrayal to the city but also to the 2,000 other officers out there everyday upholding the oath that they swore to serve and protect everybody. >> the chief says he'll work to identify any officers with negative viewpoints on race or sexual assault. a san francisco hunger strike is continuing into the ninth day at at the mission

police station. five people have gone without food since last week. we talked with protesters who said they would remain steadfast until the police chief is out of office. >> they are being called the frisco five and saying the chief should step down because of a number of controversial officer involved shootings and the racial and homophobic text messages. >> the officer who sent the text messages has been fired plus new use of force protocols are being drawn up. but that's not enough for the protesters who say there's too much bad blood between the police force and the community. they say they are starving themselves to get results. >> we're on the streets. >> like literally. >> literally it's the streets man. we are trying to make a point.

>> the protesters say they would like to talk face to face with the mayor and the police chief and say the changes are not coming fast enough. >> nine meals, three meals a day they've probably eaten 27 meals before they've come to see us. that's cold. y'all need to come and see the frisco five, don't let us die out here. >> they say they'll ray remain in front of the police station until the chief steps down or they collapse from exhaustion. >> the older of two brothers accused of murdering their parents has confessed to police. he and his 17-year-old brother were arraigned today two counts of murder. court documents indicated that he admitted he shot and killed his mother and father and his brother helped to cover up the crime. the bodies of their parents were

it happened in the belmont heights neighborhood. the resident came home and saw a man running out of the side gate. they have a surveillance video of the suspect. you see it there. they believe the man broke into the home by forcing a rear door open. police say the man was picked up in a silver mercedes sudan. he's he's described as wearing a black sweatshirt with the word supreme on the front. let's take a live look outside at the golden gate bridge. warm weather for this weekend. a nice day today but a wind advisory in effect for tonight. brittney shipp is tracking the forecast and even warmer this weekend right. >> even warmer this weekend. so i love when a warming trend happens over saturday and sunday. but it's still going to be windy. can you hear me? . here's a closer look

yeah! >> fans were very happy what a night in san jose the sharks erupt for five goals in the third period. game one of the second round of the western conference finals. the sharks defeat the nationalville predators 5-2. in the third period the sharks put up that third spot and the sharks fans just delighted. >> i'm super proud. i think they're looking great so we'll have a very good run in the playoffs. >> i think the key is for the sharks to switch it up so the predators can't read their game. >> i think the key is just to play how they did in the first. yeah, physical, keep their eye on the ball. win. >> big night for the sharks, of course fans hoping the team carries the momentum into game two. the puck drops at the shark tank

150,000 people are expected to head to livermore for the wine country downtown street festival. last year the celebration was marred by a crash that killed a mother and her young daughter.

temperatures keep warming up into the weekend. we are tracking beach weather especially as we head into sunday. right now for san francisco we're at 58 degrees. and satellite radar shots showing us this area of low pressure that's just happening out. it doesn't want to leave. so we're still seeing another round of rain showers so behind it a ridge of low pressure is building and that will keep us nice and dry into saturday and sunday and most of next week. our wind speeds are still windy in half-moon bay. and up to 32 in fairfield. and we have a wind advisory which is already in effect until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning w wind gusts up to about 35 miles per hour. especially for the higher elevations and the hills in the east bay and north bay. so we could see downed power lines and trees. tomorrow temperatures should

be on the cooler side in the 40s and 50s to start. but by 1:00 p.m. most locations warming into the 70s. and gusty wind speeds remain throughout most of the day. overnight lows in the 40s and 50s tonight and by tomorrow a lot more 80s on the map. 86 in antioch. 79 in sunnyvale. and your seven-day forecast shows above average temperatures. sunday is the warmest day. then we start to cool things down into next week with a slight chance of showers on thursday and on friday. >> you kind of knew luke walton was going to go. >> i've often said if you can make $7 million a year it's tough to stay home for $750,000. this guy is by all accounts people love him. the fans love him. he was 39-4 when he took over for steve kerr. and luke walton is the new head coach of the los angeles lakers. he played there with koby bryant

sunday at 12:30 the warriors have their playoff second round game. and this was real ugly in portland. austin rivers elbowed and required 11 stitches. had to go to the locker room to his credit he came back on the floor and played pretty well. but damian little ly lard lillard from oakland. and crawford couldn't get the shot to drop. and 106-103 blazers. and round two sunday at oracle arena. giants got clobbered tonight. got a little stubble and a lot of long hair. he's a down home boy from

alabama. but when you give up this many runs you know what they say about you. four hits, six runs, and the relief comes on, kneel walker. and here's a grand slam and the mets win final of 13-1. the a's had a fabulous finish tonight. the houston astros in town. the oh boy down the line a solo shot. the a's are down 4-3 but in the bottom of the 9th the big swing, it's a three run blast for the game tide at four. and the a's in walk off fashion. they win 7-4. busy night, so the a's winning, the giants, losing, the sharks winning.

new at 11:00 more than 150 people are sick. this is following a neurooutbreak on a cruise ship. it left brit brie tan about two weeks ago. at the moment docked in virginia. a campaign spokeswoman says said conditions had improved. still a lot of sick people several of them in isolation. there are more than 1400 crew and passengers on board. they plan to evaluate the ship when it arrives in baltimore this weekend. a famous jacket worn by prince is for sale. how high the price could go.
