boy: i made this. (steve) breaking news tonight at ten;a major fire is burning in west london... in a high-rise apartment building. (pam) these are new images just in to the kron 4 newsroom..this is a 27 story building -- firefighters saying the fire impacting just about every floor. as the sun comes up in london - rescuers are working to get people out still. hello i'm pam moore.(steve) and i'm steve aveson. the time right now is 6:00 a-m in london.. this fire has been burning through the overnight hours. grant lodes is in studio tracking developments.

(grant) hundreds of firefighters are scrambling to put this raging fire out...it appears they have contained the flames...but at the same time...they're trying to make sure they've rescued everyone. it's unclear if people are trapped...and if everyone...especially at the top of this building...was able to get out. some people have been treated for smoke inhalation... but the extent of the injuries is unclear. one witness says he saw people jumping from the building... another said he was helping firefighters hurry people out. the fire tore through one side of the high rise... from the second floor...all the way up to the top...on the 27th floor. the cause will be investigated once the fire is out...and people are cared for...but the u-k of course has been plagued by recent terror attacks. in this case...most people were sleeping when the fire started and scrambled to get

manager of operations bart "we plan to do a better job." and bart assistant general manager of operations says to do that they have come up with a 5 point plan for riders on thursday, starting with oversier. "be patient, it is going to be crowded. he is not kidding. right now, officials say it is estimated those coming out could be anywhere from 1.5 million to 2 million. oversier. "we are looking to move 3x the amount of people the system was built for." tip 2. oversier. "don't go to lake merit station, it is small, the smallest." although lake merrit is the closet to the parade and rally, oversier says in addition to the small size, they had to close down lake merrit early back in 2015 - he says they are recommending riders to use a larger station like 19th or 12th street. oversier. "tip 3, buy a clipper card in advance or buy a ticket in advance." because there will be so many people maybe even a record number using bart, officials say it is best to come prepared with a prepaid clipper card or ticket so you don't have to waste time standing in lines. tip 4 - officials say have someone drop you off or take uber or lyft or bus to a station, parking will be a premium and you could get a ticket if you park in a reserved spot. and

dozen arrests were made... out of the thousands of people who took to the streets to celebrate. the main problem was sideshow activity in east oakland... 30 cars were towed... and 40 citations were issued. today we caught up the mayor of oakland - libby schaaf. she was wearing a ring given to her by the team .... after their 2015 championship.. she was also sporting a warriors themed pedicure. the mayor says, she could not be more proud of the dubs winning it at home.(pam) and take a look at this - a dance party broke out on the streets just after the warriors win. one person there pointed out, this event was contrary to what people think about downtown oakland. new at ten:a man is being blamed for causing confusion at a church... when police say he purposely walked in wearing an "ice" jacket.it happened in san rafael... now that man has been suspended from his job at san francisco international airport. kron4's alecia reid is live tonight.alecia -- why are police saying he did this? the person in question lives close to this church . and according to police, his reasoning for walking into sunday service with that ice jacket on was because he had previous noise complaints that went unresolved.pkgit was a scary day at church last sunday for a number of parishoners. police say a man first took photos and video of people in the parking lot of lutheran church of the resurrection then made his way inside the sanctuary to continue taping. all while wearing what looked like an

a department store in antioch was evacuated this evening.... the haz mat team from the fire department responded because several people complained of shortness of breath. the j.c. penny store on slatten ranch road was evacuated around six o clock to ensure the safety of workers and shoppers inside. fire officials quickly responded and got everyone out while police made sure nobody came into the area. two people were transported to the hospital and several others were treated at the scene. ..

(pam) new at ten: a san mateo nanny was arrested for d- u-i... after police say, she drove through a fence at a school and injured a child. 64- year old evgeniya martynova .... was arrested on suspicion of d-u-i and child endangerment. the incident happened at cipriani elementary school in belmont. this is video of the arrest. the child who was injured was taken to a hospital.. and is expected to be okay. officails say, martynova is a nanny who had come to the school to pick up another student. there was an infant in the car with her who was unharmed.... the woman was reportedly convicted of d-u-i.. back in 2015. sonoma county court today. this, after 39-year-old kevin thorpe was arrested saturday... for allegedly sexually molesting a young boy ... multiple times between 2006 and 20-11. thorpe works at the hanna boys center in sonoma... where police believe some of the crimes took place. the victim is now a 23-year-old man, but was a minor when he was a student at the boys center. the sonoma county sheriff's office says, the victim came forward now ... because he fears there may be more victims. (sot) sgt. spencer crum/sonoma county sheriff's office- "we certainly believe there could be some out there. he's, uh, heavily involved with his church. he runs a ministry program for teenagers and its uh, there's a likelihood that there could be additional victims out there." thorpe is facing multiple sex charges... he did not enter a plea during his arraignment today. he is due back in court on the 27th. meanwhile, he has been placed on unpaid administrative leave from the hanna boys center. coming up stanley it's not that people behave badly you behave too good you're too

governor brown's controversial gas tax has prompted a statewide campaign to let voters decide if they want to repeal it. the new tax increase takes effect on november first and will add 12 cents to a gallon of gas. the tax is expected to generate more than $5 billion a year for road and highway maintenance and mass transit.

republican assemblyman travis allen says voters never got a fair say in this new tax increase. "simply put the people of california never got a chance to decide on this jerry brown was elected in 2010 with a simple promise, no new taxes without voter approval, but he did just that just a few weeks ago when he rammed through this largest tax increase in california's history." he is trying to collect at least 365 thousand signatures from voters to put a gas tax repeal initiative on the november 2018 ballot. californians enjoy as almost a given but for many in our communities it is a difficult choice when they try to feed their families. that's why hundreds of people rely on the contra costa solano food bank's trucks that provide this important nutritional help.fresh fruits and vegetables are extremely important to the people that we serve because they are often more expensive to buy so this way we know that they are getting nutritious food that they might not otherwise receive.the food bank's two refreigerated trucks make stops throughout the two counties every day distributing more than a million pounds of fresh produce every month. while the trucks were part of a grant the produce and the upkeep now depend on the community.the community support is definently more important than ever because this program not only costs to be able to provide the produce but also pay for the fuels for the trucks to operate.hundreds of those living on meager

london right now...the fire started six hours ago...and we just learned minutes ago...at least 30 people have been hospitalized after being injured in that raging fire. some for smoke inhalation...unclear what else. no confirmed fatalities. firefighters are finally getting a handle on things. these are new images as it's now daylight in london...fire from the second floor...up to the top of the 27 story building. several witness says they saw people jumping from about halfway up. the cause of the fire will be investigated once it is extinguished....but given what's been happening in the u-k...you hope terrorism is not involved. most people were sleeping when the fire started... officials are asking people to bring coats and shoes for folks who lost everything and barely have clothes on their backs. .
