fame to a nevada prison cell. we are now a matter of hours from seeing o.j. simpson in front of a parole board. he'll be arguing why nevada state parole commissioners should release him from prison. "the juice" has been behind bars on armed robbery charges for eight and a half years. he was sentenced to a maximum 33 years, minimum nine years for his role in an armed robbery case that happened in a las vegas hotel back in 2007 involving sports memorbilia. while many have their mind made up about simpson's crimes past and present the parole board has no idea what they are going to do.

( lydia )the burglaries were just some of the crimes reported in the last 24-hours. two of the burglaries happened at this bart station in south

hayward.(vo)the other crimes happened in bart stations including oakland, at the coliseum station, the bay fair station and the rock ridge station. the majority were auto burglaries where vehicles were parked in the bart parking lot and their windows were smashed. but there was an auto theft and even a case where a catalytic converter was taken from a car. one man was pickpockets for his cell phone.we spoke to a woman who left her car at a bart station because she's taking a flight...she told us the recent crimes worry her. . ( darya ) the detwiler fire in mariposa county is burning out of control and forcing thousands of people from their homes.(mark) tiffany mcelroy is at the breaking news desk with the details. tiffany. (tiffany) more than three thousand firefighters from across california have been called in to battle the massive fire near the southern entrance to yosemite national park. right now 48-thousand acres have burned and the fire is seven-percent contained. it has destroyed 29 structures. it is not clear how many of those structures are homes. but we do know that 15- hundred houses are still in danger. about five- thousand people have evacuated. some people had less than five minutes to grab whatever they could. ( tiffany )

a cal fire spokesman says the wildfire is now moving south and away from yosemite. (mark) police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside of a ice cream store in pittsburg. the shooting happened yesterday afternoon in front of the baskin-robbins on century boulevard. officers found a 43-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. the man died at the hospital. police say the victim may have known the shooter. (mark) the large fire that destroyed several businesses in lafayette may

have been started by a cigarette. that's according to fire investigators. the fire erupted one week ago and within a matter of minutes the building was engulfed in flames. it housed 9 businesses.. including the lafayette chamber of commerce as well as the popular italian restaurant, la finestra investigators say they know the fire started on the restaurant's patio. the blaze did over a million dollars in damage. no one was hurt in the fire. (darya) the woman accused of kidnapping a baby over the weekend near a san francisco park - will not face any charges. investigators say that the father may not have been telling the whole truth. this happened at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood on sunday.. originally, police said the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. sources now tell kron four the father picked the woman up... and left her with his baby in the car. and when he did not return... she left with the child. the woman was found about an hour later on a muni bus with

the baby in her arms. the incident remains under investigation. ( darya ) the u-s postal service is offering a reward for information on thieves who robbed four mail trucks in san jose. postal service inspectors say the robberies happened over the past two months. inspectors say the robberies are taking place while mail carriers are making home deliveries. a conviction for mail theft carries the possibility of a 250-thousand dollar fine and jail time. (mark) president trump is pushing republican senators not to give up on repealing and replacing the affordable care act. the president met with the senators yesterday. he told them that doing nothing on health care is not an option. he urged the senators not to leave town for their august recess until they have reached an agreement on health care. and president trump says there will be consequences for those who choose to block the bill. (mark)

republican senators say a vote on health care will take place next week. political experts say at this point the bill does not have enough votes to pass. (darya) happening today... bruno mars will hold a concert in san jose but police are warning people about ticket scammers. earlier this week in sacramento a man says he bought 4 tickets on craigslist for 700-dollars. he said he met the seller in person and the sale went smoothly but when he and his family got to the concert the tickets were fake. instead of heading home...the family decided to stay and pay more than 12-hundred dollars for real tickets. police say that's a risk people take when they buy tickets online. police encourage fans to buy tickets directly from the stadium box office. (tiffany) the shooting happened in hayward yesterday afternoon. the father was walking with his baby on willow avenue near meekland avenue. that's when someone drove up and started shooting at the man. when officers arrived they found the man on the ground and his three-month-old baby in a stroller. the baby was not hurt in that shooting..

( darya ) u-s senator john mccain is diagnosed with brain cancer.( mark ) and this morning there is an outpouring of support for him and his family. john lawrence has reaction from capitol hill. senator john mccain is recovering at his home in arizona after being diagnosed with a form of brain cancer. this was discovered after the 80-year-old republican had

robbed four mail trucks in san jose. postal service inspectors say the robberies happened over the past two months. inspectors say the robberies are taking place while mail carriers are making home deliveries. a conviction for mail theft carries the possibility of a 250-thousand dollar fine and jail time. ( mark ) the woman accused of kidnapping a baby over the weekend near a san francisco park - will not face any charges. investigators say that the father may not have been telling the whole truth. this happened at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood on sunday.. originally, police said the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. sources now tell kron four the father picked the woman up... and left her with his baby in the car. and when he did not return... she left with the child. the woman was found about an hour later on a muni bus with the baby in her arms. the incident remains under investigation.
