starts at 10 a-m at the city's public library on 81st avenue. ( robin )the rain is being blamed for a crash in antioch. it happened just after 6:00 p-m tuesday on east 18th near hargrove.according to contra costa fire...several vehicles were involved.a total of four people were taken to the hospital. two with moderate injuries, and two with major injuries. you can see firefighters using the jaws of life to remove one person from the vehicle. authorities say they responded to several vehicles accidents in that area. ( robin )rain conditions continue to pick up today... causing issues with san francisco's water supply. kron 4's dan kerman went out to speak with city water manager's on the rains affect. the rains have returned once again in march and water managers say it's really making a difference in terms of water supply. sot david briggs/eb mud water operations mgr. 07-17storage at east bay mud's reservoirs in the sierra and locally are now at 82% of

( robin ) the c-h-p says... it has made an arrest in one of the latest freeway shootings. an 18-year-old man is charged with firing a pellet gun at another driver along interstate- 580 in san rafael, during the height of monday's commute. the highway patrol says, it was an apparent case of road rage. he's been identified as cristian torrez-perez. he was pulled over at this san rafael gas station less than 4 hours after the incident. investigators say a pellet gun and ammunition was recovered in the car. torrez-perez was booked into county jail. ( robin )we now know the name of two people killed... when

their vehicle crashed into a tree in san jose. it happened friday on casselino drive. authorities have identified the victims as 15-year-old isabelle gonzalz and 22-year-old brandon gomez hunsperger. there police say a honda accord was traveling ....when the driver... hunsperger...lost control of the car and crashed into a tree. both victims died at the scene. two other vicitms ...a man and a woman were in the car during the crash...but will be ok. police believe pot and alcohol...played a role in the crash. ( robin )car break-ins in san francisco have dropped significantly between the first two months of the year ... that's the claim from s-f-p-d.. kron 4's ali reid takes us to where auto burglaries are a big problem... and reports on those changes that are being made. car break-ins are a serious problem in the city.not only are people that

live here are afftected by it, tourists are also being warned before visiting san francisco. in 2017, the number of auto burglaries spiked 24-percent from the previous year.its a little concerning knowing theres so much crime around here but it's nice knowing that local police has feet on the groundthat's right. s- f-p-d are taking action. the park smart campaign was introduced, advising tourists not to leave anything visible inside their vehicles. and a general crimes unit was implemented - specifically targeting property crime, including car burglaries, and foot patrols have doubled. so far it seems to be working. double digit decrease in all 10 district stations, so that's positive workat least one police district is reporting a 44-percent decrease, whereas others are seeing as little as an 11- percent drop. tourists, though cautious, are glad to hear things are looking up.it's reassuring knowing that they are taking steps to avoid the problem my personal belongings will be on my person or out of sightp-d will continue to use data to adjust its strategies in order to effectively prevent and investigate auto burglaries.grace gatpandan / san francisco police department going forward you can expect to continue seeing the foot beats continue to see progress from the investigative units. standupauthough the majority of car burglaries go unsolved, police say last year nearly 800 people were either cited or arrested .reporting in san

on lockdown tuesday.both the middle and high schools in hercules were put on what officials call a "soft" lockdown. students were confined to their classrooms while police officers searched the campus. graffiti was found in a restroom but there wasn't a tangible threat. it just said.. do not go to school on a certain date. parents were notified of the lockdown with some choosing to pick up their children. the lockdown was lifted after a little over an hour. ( robin )in national news... a school resource officer is being praised for stopping a shooting at a high school in maryland. 17-year-old austin rollins - a student - opened fire with a handgun at great mills high school tuesday morning . two student were shot. a 16-year old girl has life- threatening injuries. and a 14-year-old boy is in stable condition. authorties say a school resource officer ...blaine gaskill... engaged the shooter. both the shooter and the officer fired at each other simultaneously.

the shooter was later pronounced dead. gaskill was unharmed. right now...investigators are looking into the relationship between the shooter and the female victim as a possible motive.(sot) "there is an indication that a prior relationship existed between the shooter and the female victim. we are working as we speak to determine if that was and if so the extent of that and if it was part of the motive for this shooting." ( robin ) the incident is the 17th school shooting in the united states this year. ( robin )it's been a dominio effect of schools threats over the past month. washington correspondent drew petrimoulx reports on how a bill aiming to improve school safety is facing the reality of budget cuts. for the nation's largest teachers union the violence on tuesday at a maryland high school is just the latest evidence that it's time for congress to do something. mary kulser, national education association: "we are long

overdue on our need to act and our need to take care of this." one proposal comes from tennessee senator lamar alexander. his bill allows school districts to use federal education funding to pay for new safety technology, physical security and for employee safety training. it would also free up money for more school counselors to help troubled children. sen. lamar alexander, r-tn: "it will make a difference if schools use the authority were giving them." mary kulser with the national education association applauds alexander for putting a plan forward butmary kulser, national education association: "the problem is when you suggest using funding for yet another thing but we don't increase the funding we have a problem."drew petrimoulx, reporting: "in fact the trump administration and republicans in the house proposed slashing the very sections of education dollars alexander is relying on for his bill." education secretary betsy devos defended the cuts during a tuesday hearing while also talking about the importance of school safety. betsy devos, secretary of education: "this budget sharpens and hones the focus of our mission." mary kulser, national education association: "its really a disconnect between the messaging of politicians and the messaging of what we're hearing on the ground." with increased funding -- kulser says alexander's bill is a good start. but she says truly addressing school safety requires congress to control

texas... has been arrested. she was booked and charged in vallejo on monday after trying to enroll at bethel high school. police say the girl was wanted by the copperas cove police department in texas... for the killing of a 17-year-old boy who was found dead from a gunshot wound in november 20- 17. right now she's in solano county juvenile hall... where she'll stay until she's extradited to texas. ( robin )austin texas has been on edge after a string of package bomb explosions -- but a possible blast reported tuesday night turned out to be unrelated, police say the latest incident turned out to be a goodwill worker who was injured by -simulated military ordnance- in a donation box. kristen holmes is in austin with the latest. two pieces of military ordnance -- training devices, known as artillery simulators -- were apparently inside a box that was donated to

goodwill.police say one of them went off, injuring a worker.asst. chief ely reyes, austin police: "this incident is not related to any of the other incidents that we've had here in austin."earlier in the day, though, an explosion at a fed-ex sorting center near san antonio injured an employee there......and another suspicious package, at a fed-ex facility near the austin airport, was found intact.the bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives would later tweet that both of these packages are connected to the four bombings in austin.at the president's law enforcement roundtable in washington, congressman mike mccaul acknowledged the latest attack could be the key to finding the person responsible.rep. mike mccaul, -r- texas: "five bombings... as i understand, the last one, the mailed package, i think, will lead to more evidence -- hopefully, fingerprints and surveillance photos -- and we can finally take him down."concerning the bomb found intact, a federal law enforcement source involved in the investigation tells c-n-n, quote, "now we have the blueprint -- and possible d-n-a."the source says the devices so far have been very similar in how they were made.the level of

over the plants daly city, doesn't have a whole lot of green spaces... in fact according to the official daly city site the city is 9th most densely populated city in the entire countryááá so with grant money..from cities of service daly city has created some green spaces .there are at or near the intersection of mission and bepler streets however the garden maintained almost solely by volunteers is being abused people are dumping we found baby diapers we found kitty litter , we found car seats in here we found boxes from dentist offices nearbyoh excuse my manners this is brian he works at the daly city, city manager's office but he from a civic organization americorp vistasin fact they has just cleaned up the garden the day before and more trash was beginning to pile up so they are cleaning it up again we found needles and saturday we found knives in here but it's not just an issues of dumping

trash people are putting the snag on the plants . in this case someone stole most of this cactus over across the street all that is left is a hole where someone dug another plant up .. and get this see the please be respectful sign they started out with 8 signs the signs are gone but not forgotten they have been popping up around the neighborhood so we have some suspicions that they have been stolen and people are putting them in their yards and yes people have been letting their dogs do what dogs do bestthe city installed a garbage can in hopes that people will stop trashing the garden but people are still tossing litter into the garden and get this even buses are driving up over the curb and crushing the plants (sound of bus passing by) we would like people to understand that this is all volunteer labor in

( robin )a young boy battling a rare genetic disorder arrived in san francisco tuesday... right in time to receive a special wish. to meet his favorite athlete.... stephen curry. kron four's philippe djegal was there for the surprise... and has the story. (philippe) five and a half years ago... seven-year- old jonathan page was diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder called methylmalonic acidemia. it prevents his body from properly digesting fats and proteins. it resulted in jonathan suffering a stroke and the deterioration of his motor functions. the disorder has a high mortality rate.loree page/mother- "there are kids that have lived in their thirties. there are kids who have, um, passed away at an early age. however, we're gonna take whatever god shows us. and, we're just going to live life to the fullest." and, loree oliver says the

non-profit organization "dream on three," is helpoing to make that happen. by arrainging her son and the rest of her family to fly in to san francisco international airport... before meeting jonathan's favorite athlete wednesday... golden state warriors' point guard -- stephen curry. curry is also from jonathan's hometown -- charlotte north carolina. loree oliver/mother- "we are very excited to be here." jonathan page/7 years old- "(philippe) what do you like about steph curry? (jonathan) he plays basketball and shoots." mike dascal is a volunteer for "dream on three" which is also based in charlotte.mike dascal/dream on 3- "this is the second dream we've done with steph curry and in all the situations we are with these sport heros, we see they get a lot out of it too. they enjoy being with these kids." and, jonathan certainly deserves it. he's still recovering from a stroke he suffered when he was initially diagnosed with the disorder.loree oliver/mother- "and, i appreciate steph curry taking the time to spend with my son." wednesday promises to be very special day for this special young boy. in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news.

bars... 5 men are in behind bars... suspected of sexually assaulting 5 teenage girls. the men were hanging out at an apartment on shattuck avenue in berkeley early monday. a group of girls came over... and one of the men allegedly pulled out a gun and took away their phones. police say the teenage girls were then sexually assaulted. they were told that they couldn't leave the apartement... but eventually one of them did. she flagged down someone outside and called police. all five men were arrested. were arrested.

( terisa ) in the north bay... a former boys and girls club director in sonoma county has been convicted of sexually abusing young boys. paul kilgore was arrested back in 2016... after police connected him to a string of child molestation cases dating back to 20-10. kilgore was working as a child mentor and athletic director. he worked at the boys and girls club for 10 years before resigning in 2013. kilgore will be sentenced in may. ( terisa ) in the east bay ... c-h-p is looking for the gunmen involved in two freeway shootings... and they need your help. the latest shooting happened monday night along interstate-580 in oakland. and on saturday night in hercules... a woman and a five-year-old girl were injured in a shooting on i-80. c-h-p says at this point... they don't have any suspects.

and high schools were put on what's called a soft lockdown yesterday... after graffiti was found in the bathroom. the message warned students not to go to school on a certain date. students were confined to their classrooms while police searched the campus for a little over an hour... before giving the all clear. ( terisa ) investigators are trying to figure out what led to a school shooting in maryland. we first brought you this story as breaking news yesterday morning. in this latest shooting... the gunfire was over and done with in less than a minute. the shooter -- 17-year-old austin rollins -- was killed. authorities say a 16-year-old girl who had some type of relationship with rollins was critically injured. a 14-year-old boy was also hurt. yesterday's shooting at great mills high school happened a month after 17 people were killed at a florida high school. right now... it's not clear whether rollins shot himself or if he was shot by the school resource officer who responded. accused of a murder in texas has been arrested in vallejo... where her father lives. police arrested the girl after she tried to enroll at bethel high school. the girl is accused of killing a 17-year-old boy back in november 20-17. right now she's in solano county juvenile hall... where she'll stay until she is extradited to texas. ( james ) also new this morning... police in pacifica are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station. it happened tuesday morning at the shell station on bill drake way. police say no one was hurt and the thief used a handgun to rob the station. the thief did run off and is still on the loose this morning. at east bay mud's reservoirs are now at 82-percent capacity. things are looking better in the south bay as well... the santa clara valley water district jumped from 26- percent capacity to 33-percent. if march was dry like previous months... things could have been different looking forward. ( james ) the rain is being blamed for this crash in antioch. it happened just after 6 last night on east 18th near hargrove. contra costa fire says several cars were involved. a total of four people were taken to the hospital. two people suffered major injuries. you can see firefighters using the jaws of life to get one person out. drivers are

( terisa ) leaders of a small southern california city want to be áexempt from the state's sanctuary law. the mayor of los alamitos says the state law conflicts with the constitution and federal law. the city council approved the move in a vote tuesday night. but a second vote is needed... and that's expected to happen next month. los alamitos is a community of about 12- thousand people. it's 20 miles away from l-a. ( terisa ) 36-thousand pounds of cocaine has been brought into the u-s álegally. it's contraband that the coast guard has been seizing since early last month. the cocaine comes from 17 different busts by the coast guard off the pacific coasts of central and south america. coast guard officials offloaded the cargo in san diego yesterday. the cocaine is worth about half a billion dollars. officials say keeping the drug off the street will likely save hundreds of lives. man who was shot and killed in the east bay. police say aj-mal faroqi of brentwood was killed when shots were fired at his car in hayward. it happened early sunday morning on mission boulevard. the victim drove about a block before losing control of his car. police are looking at surveillance footage from surrounding businesses. ( terisa ) we now know the names of two people killed... when their car crashed into a tree in san jose. authorities have identified the victims as 15-year-old isabelle gonzalz and 22-year-old brandon gomez hunsperger. the crash happened friday on casselino drive. police say hunsperger... lost control of his honda accord and crashed into a tree. both victims died at the scene. two other victims -- a man and a woman -- were in the car during the crash. but will both be ok. police believe alcohol and marijuana were factors. supervisor aaron peskin is apologizing... for criticizing the fire department during the huge north beach fire on saturday night. he said it was inappropriate for him to raise his concerns at the scene of the fire. fire officials released a statement monday... outlining their efforts to contain the fire. crews say once they knew no one was inside... they fought the fire from outside ... because it was too dangerous for firefighters to be inside the building. a preliminary investigation has determined that the cause was accidental. ( james ) in the east bay... police and san ramon are looking for a package thief. this happened last friday in the windemere area. you can see a car pull up -- and someone get out of the car and walk up to the front porch. moments later they walk towards the car with a large box. police are now looking for the thief. ( terisa ) it's the first abortion case the supreme court has heard under the trump administration... and the case comes from california. the justices will decide whether a state can require pro life clinics

( terisa ) in the north bay... a former boys and girls club director in sonoma county has been convicted of sexually abusing young boys. paul kilgore was arrested back in 2016... after police connected him to a string of child molestation cases dating back to 20-10. kilgore was working as a child mentor and athletic director. he worked at the boys and girls club for 10 years before resigning in 2013. kilgore will be sentenced in may. being blamed for this crash in antioch. it happened just after 6 last night on east 18th near hargrove. contra costa fire says several cars were involved. a total of four people were taken to the hospital. two people suffered major injuries. you can see firefighters using the jaws of life to get one person out. drivers are urged to slow down because of the slick conditions. ( terisa ) leaders of a small southern california city want to be áexempt from the state's sanctuary law. the mayor of los alamitos says the state law conflicts with the constitution and federal law. the city council approved the move in a vote tuesday night. but a second vote is needed... and that's expected to happen next month. los alamitos is a community of about 12- thousand people. it's 20 miles away from l-a. safety board has launched an investigation into the deadly crash involving a self-driving uber vehicle in arizona. a woman was hit, ... she was reportedly not in the crosswalk. and it was very dark... questions remain on who's legally responsible for the crash. legal experts say a crash was bound to happen because the self- driving technology isn't foolproof. journal now reporting that police have identified him as mark anthony conditt police say he killed himself with a bomb inside his car. he set off the explosive as a swat team was moving in on him. this is video from the scene this morning where you can see dozens of cop cars and officers along a highway. one member of the swat team was injured when the bomb went off. police say that in the past 36 hours they received information leading them to the suspect. they also received these surveillance pictures. it shows the man they believe to be the bomber dropping off packages at a fed-ex facility in schertz, texas. that is the same facility where a bomb exploded early yesterday morning. in these pictures you can see a man using gloves to drop off packages. police say that conditt is a 24-year-old white man. police in austin say... even

though the bomber is dead... the threat to the city is not over yet. ( james ) the bomber is responsible for five bombing in and around austin. two people were killed in the attacks and 4 others were injured. investigators have not said what motivated the bombings. ( terisa ) we now know the name of a man who was shot and killed in the east bay. police say ahj-mal faroqi of brentwood was killed when shots were fired at his car in hayward. it happened early sunday morning on mission boulevard. the victim drove about a block before losing control of his car. police are looking at surveillance footage from

( terisa ) we now know the names of two people killed... when their car crashed into a tree in san jose. authorities have identified the victims as 15-year-old isabelle gonzalz and 22-year-old brandon gomez hunsperger. the crash happened friday on casselino drive. police say hunsperger... lost control his honda accord and crashed into a tree. both victims died at the scene. two other victims -- a man and a woman -- were in the car during the crash. but will both be ok. police believe alcohol and marijuana were factors. ( james ) san francisco supervisor aaron peskin is apologizing... for criticizing the fire department during the huge north beach fire on saturday night. he said it was inappropriate for him to raise his concerns at the scene of the fire. fire officials released a statement monday... outlining their efforts to contain the fire. crews say once they knew no one was inside... they fought the fire from outside ... because it was too dangerous for firefighters to be inside the building. a preliminary
