(vicki) thank you for joining us i'm vicki liviakis in for pam moore.(steve) and i'm steve aveson. tonight the accused hit and run driver has been arrested. this all happened just before 10:30 this morning on illinois street at 24th street in san francisco. tonight kron-4's j-r stone joins us live from san francisco with what we know about this altercation. a dramatic scene in san francisco wednesday as paramedics raced to help five people who were runover by a van. this in the city's dogpatch neighborhood. a witness described the driver of that van.sot just angry....it sounds like my assumption is either some kind

shows images of the body of 32- year-old ronell foster who died in an officer involved shooting back on februray 13th. burris has filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of ronell foster's family. vallejo police say foster was riding a bicycle when officer mcmahon stopped him as part of an investigation. burris says soon after a chase began.john burris/civil rights attorney: "mr. foster goes down the street, goes this way, winding up in this location, in that location is where and killed him as he was seeking to fence, there is no evidence at any point in time that he had any kind of a weapon." foster's family is calling on vallejo city leadership to release the video footage of the incident from the police patrol car and the officer's body camera. the lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages on behalf on ronell foster's son and daughter.

the san francisco police union is putting out the call for new cop cars. claiming its current fleet is old, unsafe and unreliable.(vicki) kron 4's justine waldman... has a look at the unions request.. she is live in our newsroom right now. (justine) for the union, it is hard for them to believe the city does not have the money to supply the police force with a proper fleet. an odometer shows a san francisco police car with over 129-thousand miles on it. another photo of a patrol car shows part of the steering wheel is missing.and the outside of this black and white is is dinged and dented the president of the sf police union says sfpd's fleet is dilapidated.sot the lights and sirens don't work the computers don't work the loud speakers dont workwith the city's budget up for debate in april and may, the police union wants the board of supervisors to prioritize repairing and replacing the departments fleet.sot give those officers the proper equipment to do their jobslast years proposed budget, included $8 million to replace 140 marked and unmarked cars

governor doug ducey's staff and uber executives is shedding light on a cozy relationship between the two. this is the wake of the deadly autonomous suv crash. the previously unseen emails were released by the governor's office. they show that ducey's staff worked closely with the company as it began experimenting with autonomous vehicles. and that uber began testing on public roads without informing the public. but the governor's spokesperson says there was no secret testing. a woman was killed march 18 by an uber self driving vehicle. (vicki) facebook is changing its privacy settings. it comes in the wake of its data breach by cambridge analytica. facebook says the redesigned security settings will let users decide what personal information the social network and third-party apps keep. facebook is adding two more tools-- including a privacy shortcuts menu, where people can add two-factor authentication and control the ads they're served. the company says facebook's new "access your information" button allows people to delete anything from
their timelines or profiles that they no longer want on facebook. it's rolling out the changes in the coming weeks. (steve) now-- deputies say the man could be a threat to the community. the father of the alleged victim is now taking matters into his own hands. kron 4's terisa estacio has the story. david henry, dad. " so if we can spread the word to keep this guy at bay and protect our children." david henry is talking about his mission involving spreading the word about this man. sheriff's deputies say timothy james kottler tried to lure henry's daughter into a pontiac grand prix as she was walking home
from her middle school in this santa rosa neighborhood.henry. "he said don't you look pretty today, do i know you from the market?. henry says his daughter stayed strong keeping her distance from the man. henry. he had his door open, he said his window was broken, fortunately, an att technician was in the area and walked over, and the man drove away and waived.they got a license plate, turned it over to sonoma county sheriff's deputies who arrested kottler on an annoying or molesting a victim under 18 offense. but several hours after his arrest, kottler was let out of jail on bail. with the department issuing a warning saying he could be a possible threat to the community. henry. frustrated? very. they said if he touched, then locked up, but he didn't so out, and that is still not right. henry decided to print up these flyers. he is very glad his daugher his safe, and wants to make sure other children are too. henry. i am proud of my daughter. we taught her and it happened. now, no one else. in santa rosa, terisa estacio kron four news. ##### (vicki) new tonight at 8. california is fighting the department of justice to protect its sanctuary state status. but within the state...there's backlash against sanctuary cities.

(steve) the city of atlanta is recovering from a massive ransom-ware attack that disabled thousands of computers and crippled public services. some city workers have been told to turn on their computers and printers for the first time since last thursday.(vicki) the attackers had demanded more than 50=thousand dollars. catherine heenan shows us how cybercriminals have extorted as much as a million dollars from schools. hospitals and city governments. "this is much bigger than ransomware attack. this, really is an attack on our government, which means it's an attack on all of us." the virus known as samsam crippled computers and wireless networks and blocked access to important data. file names changed to "i'm sorry" and a message threatened to make the data permanently inaccessible within a week.the city departments impacted included the courts, police ,
city planning and human resources.9-1-1 emergency dispatch was not affected, and neither were operations at hartfield-jackson airport, although there was no wi-fi network for passengers. atlanta is the biggest city to be hit with the samsam malware... but it's not the only one.in the past few months, the birmingham, alabama suburb of leeds paid 12=thousand dollars to recover its files.a hospital in indiana paid 50=thousand dollars.colorado's department of transportation lost data on 2=thousand computers in february, and was in the process of restoring it when they were infected by a new mutated virus.the entire town of farmington, new mexico was shut down after it refused to pay 35=thousand.estimates are that almost half of ransomware victims do agree to pay.in about one quarter of the cases, the decryption still does not work.and in three quarters of the cases, those who pay are hit again.

the giants open up their season at dodger stadium tomorrow afternoon... 4- o'clock to be exact... but there are problems at the ball park last night... an exhibition game between the dodgers and the angels came to an abrupt end in the 5th inning when a sewage leak spilled onto the field.... a water main leak inside the stadium left a brown liquid near the dodgers' dugout. the game was delayed for 32 minutes while grounds crew attempted to clean up the field before officials called off the game. but from all acounts... the field has been cleaned up and shouldn't be a problem for tomorow's opener (wipe to tim tebow) tim tebow is moving up in

(vicki) yeah that teen had a coveted snapchat handle ....carnival cruise. the company surprised 15 year old darian lipscomb at his home. after going around town posting signs asking "hey prospect...does anyone know darian?" carnival then offered to trade the teen a free trip for his family on their newest ship...in exchange for his handle. the trip is worth about 5- thousand dollars. the company says the trade was a fun way to claim the handle and reward a superfan.
