on the peninsula. police have arrested eduardo antonio chavarria-diaz in connection with the sexual assault of a high school-aged jogger. this is an update to a story we first brought you last

month. the incident happened on march 28th... near the intersection of arastradero and deer creek roads. police say the suspect pulled the victim off the path, put a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. after investigating, officers found chavarria-diaz was involved in a similar situation that occurred in oakland last month. police obtained a search warrant and made the arrest yesterday morning in richmond. morning... a man is arrested on suspicion of murder and d-u-i for a crash in concord. the crash happened on highway 4, just west of willow pass road on march 23-rd. jose amaya- rivera was driving when he crashed his s-u-v into another car. he and two of his female passengers were critically injured. one of the women died a week after the crash. amaya-rivera was arrested on saturday after he was released from the hospital. ( darya ) in the east bay ... pleasant hill police are investigating the first homicide in the city in the last six years. 23- year-old oshry elor was killed inside this home at norse drive and viking street saturday night. police believe elor was shot by a robber who was trying to steal his marijuana. the shooting had neighbors rattled:

neighborhood concern there were a lot of cops it was closed off i do think that residents would be a little bit more alarmed to hear that it occurred in pleasant hill because it's so uncommon.">( darya ) police have not released a description of the gunman. ( darya ) three men are behind bars after a motorcycle sideshow that caused a lot of chaos. this is video of the sideshow yesterday afternoon. you can see them circling in front of police. witnesses say they even repeatedly kicked patrol cars. it started in fruitvale ... and ended in north oakland - at claremont and telegraph. police say some of bikers robbed an oakland gas station at gun point. about 60 to 70 people were involved in the sideshow. one of the bikers was arrested for wreckless driving ... the other two for stealing bikes. ( james ) a man is arrested after police say he stabbed two victims in the head at an oakland bart station. robert dolth of san francisco was arrested at

the coliseum bart station. the victims told police they got on bart in south san francisco on saturday and noticied dolth was acting erratically. feeling unsafe, they got off at the coliseum station. that's when dolth followed and started attacking them. both the female victim and her brother were hospitalized. the brother is in critcal condition. officials say dolth admitted to attacking the victims but did not give a reason why. ( james ) two people are shot in the parking lot of a home depot in emeryville. it happened sunday morning. police received multiple calls of gunshots coming from a party bus in the parking lot . bullets hit two cars parked nearby. police haven't arrested anyone, yet, but the investigation continues. ( darya ) continuing coverage of a big story we have been following. we have new video showing the response to the youtube shooting in san bruno. the viral video shows an officer running into the youtube property where the

shots had been fired:( darya ) the officer is getting credit for his bravery of running into the deadly situation and trying to stop it. he has not been identified by police. in california, most police departments teach officers to go straight in if there is an active shooter instead of waiting. ( james ) a martinez unified school district employee has been placed on administrative leave for an alleged sex crime. school officials say ahmed ismaiel -- an employee in the technology department, was arrested on charges related to an attempt to engage in illegal sexual contact with a minor. he started working for the district in 20-15. the superintendent of schools says

they don't believe the alleged crime involves current or former students. ( darya ) former san francisco 49er and oakland raider aldon smith has been arrested again. bond is set at half a million dollars for the 28 year old. arrest records show he was taken in on friday in san francisco for violating three charges of a protective order. those stem from domestic violence charges back in march. this is video of aldon from previous arrests and court appearances. smith was arraigned last thursday and ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor. there was a violation and he was then arrested. he will be in court again on wednesday. ( darya ) two men have been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2012 killing of a san francisco man. the murder happened in july 2012 ...when gary smith was shot and killed near the baldwin hotel on sixth street. prosecutors say trumillion ballard and anthony pratt got into a fight with the victim over money for the purchase of

a dog. smith was shot three times and died. video from nearby businesses caught the shooting on camera. ( darya ) new this morning... police in moraga have a new warning about credit card fraud. recently more people have had their credit card numbers skimmed through devices on card readers in moraga. then the stolen information is being used in southern california. police say gas pumps are easy targets for credit card skimming. officers have been going to gas stations in moraga and inspecting pumps for the devices. ( james ) national guard troops are now along the u-s - mexico border. 4-hundred guardsmen from texas and arizona have been deployed. thousands more may be sent. the border patrol says their about 2-thousand agents short thousand agents short of their congressionally mandated minimum. this comes as a caravan of migrants make their way through mexico... with some bound for the u-s.

while the deployment is meant to help secure the southern line -- the law limits what the national guard can do. troops will ánot be able to enforce immigration laws. instead -- they'll serve in support roles like training and construction. both presidents bush and obama sent troops to the border... but the moves were criticized as costly and not effective. ( darya ) starting today ... facebook will start alerting users whose data was used by cambridge analytica. a link will be posted on their facebook news feeds. facebook says, users will be able to use the link to delete apps preventing them from collecting more information. cambridge analytica is the london-based organization that gathered information on tens of millions of voters. facebook c-e-o mark zuckerberg is in washington today. he will be testifying before congress on wednedsay. ( darya ) apple co-founder steve wozniak is shutting down his facebook. he says facebook makes a lot of

advertising money from personal details provided by users. wozniak says profits are based on the user's information ... but the users get none of the profits back. he says he would be willing to pay for facebook. ( james ) "best buy" says that some of its customers' credit card information may have been affected by security breach. this is the same breach that affected sears and delta air lines. all three companies use the same third party firm that provides online services to customers. the breach happened between late september and mid-october of last year. best buy says it appears only a fraction of its customers might have been impacted. ( james ) a dog is reunited with his owner ... after he was caught swimming in a pool in napa. police found the dog on saturday night in a pool at a home on el nido drive. officers brought 15-year-old 'tug' to the station to take care of him. he was reunited with his owner on sunday morning. police say 'tug' was micro chipped and that made it

accused of profiting off young viewers. 20-advocacy groups have filed a complaint against youtube.( james ) they're calling on the f-t-c to investigate. the groups claim youtube illegally collected data on 23 million children. the're asking the f-t-c to fine youtube up to 41-thousand dollars per violation.( darya ) youtube's terms of service say it is not for anyone under 13. but it's still easy for a young child to sign up for an account. youtube says protecting kids and families always been a top priority. ( james ) in mendocino county ... a body has been found in the ocean, near the crash site that killed at least 5 members of a family. the body was discovered saturday afternoon near the town of westport. deputies tell kron 4... the body appears to be an african american woman. three members of the hart family are still missing... two girls and a boy. the bodies of jennifer and sara hart... along with three of their six children... were recovered last month after their suv plunged off a cliff. authorities believe the crash was intentional. ( james ) a car plunged one hundred feet off a cliff on coleman road. it happened near bodega bay. this is video of the rescue. c-h-p says they found the car on the beach with a 55-year-old woman and her dog alive. the woman is recovering in the hospital. ( darya ) a pilot is dead after he crashed a small plane in petaluma. sonoma county

sheriff's office got a call from the u-s air force about an emergency transponder that was activated in petaluma. shortly after a woman called petaluma police saying her husband had not come home. the pilot's family told authorities he left the petaluma airport on his way to san diego county. ( darya ) berkeley police have arrested the person involved in a strong-armed robbery near u-c berkeley. it happened at people's park in berkely saturday morning. police say the robber pulled the victim's cellphone from his hands and kicked and punched him. officers arrested the robber a short time later. the victim suffered minor injuries. the attackers name has not yet been released. ( james ) in the east bay... hundreds of bay area students are heading to the state capitol to talk gun control with lawmakers. within those students are two teens that were brought together by one cause... gun control. they are among 350 students from 35 different schools that banded together in just two weeks to form a group called "bay area student

activists"... and they're now headed to sacramento on a mission to influence lawmakers. they say they were driven to action by mass shootings across america and local gun violence. ( james )they're now joining the movement by scheduling meetings with more than a dozen assemblymen and staffers in sacramento to present their concerns and solutions.the bay area student activists have launched a go fund me page to help pay for the buses they'll need to get to the state's capitol. ( james )(ááá2 shotááá) a contractor sifting through dirt after the mudslides that swept through montecito made a special discovery.( darya ) the contractor found a bag in a massive pile of mud -- with someone's wedding ring inside. it belonged to a survivor of the mudslides. in an emotional reunion ... the ring made its way back to its rightful owner.

rocked by the deadly accident involving a canadian youth hockey team.. it's every athlete who's ever travelled to a game and every parent who's ever put their kid on a bus.. just horrible what happened on friday.. 15 people were killed in the accident.. 10 hockey players, 2 coaches, 2 members of the media and the driver of the bus.. canada's prime minister was amoung thousands who filled the humboldt broncos' home arena for a vigil last night. some of the 14 injured in the crash were also there. the team

found in the ocean, near the crash site that killed at least 5 members of a family. the body was discovered saturday afternoon near the town of westport. deputies tell kron 4... the body appears to be an african american woman. three members of the hart family are still missing... two girls and a boy. the bodies of jennifer and sara hart... along with three of their six children... were recovered last month after their suv plunged off a cliff. authorities believe the crash was intentional. ( james ) a car plunged one hundred feet off a cliff on coleman road. it happened near bodega bay. this is video of the rescue. c-h-p says they found the car on the beach with a 55-year-old woman and her dog alive. the woman is recovering in the hospital. ( darya ) a pilot is dead after he crashed a small plane in petaluma. sonoma county sheriff's office got a call from the u-s air force about an emergency transponder that was activated in petaluma. shortly after a woman called petaluma police saying her husband had not come home.

( james )in the east bay... hundreds of bay area students are heading to the state capitol to talk gun control with lawmakers.within those students are two teens that were brought together by one cause... gun control. they are among 350 students from 35 different schools that banded together in just two weeks to form a group called bay area student activists.and in just two more weeks they're headed

( james ) communities are in mourning after a fatal bus crash involving a canadian hockey team. at least 15 people were killed and 14 people were injured. the bus carrying members of the humboldt broncos junior hockey team collided friday night with a tractor-trailer on the way to a playoff game. the saint augustine catholic church honored the victims in a sunday morning service. the cause of the crash is being investigated. ( darya ) border patrol officers found an empty horse trailer that they say was used in a human smuggling operation. it happened sunday near san diego. officers say the strong winds may have caused the horse trailer to over turn. the carriage was carrying at least 18 people ... and border patrol says it was a human smuggling operation. when first responders arrived - the trailer was empty. after the crash, the people inside tried to hide in the rocks and bushes.

story this morning ... police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a high school-aged jogger in palo alto.( darya ) this is an update to a story we have been following since the attack happened last month. kron 4's will tran is live in palo alto with the latest. on the peninsula. police have arrested eduardo antonio chavarria-diaz in connection with the sexual assault of a high school-aged jogger. this is an update to a story we first brought you last month. the incident happened on march 28th... near the intersection of arastradero and deer creek roads. police say the suspect pulled the victim off the path, put a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. after investigating, officers found chavarria-diaz was involved in a similar situation that occurred in oakland last month. police obtained a search warrant and made the arrest yesterday morning in richmond.

murder and d-u-i for a crash in concord. the crash happened on highway 4, just west of willow pass road on march 23-rd. jose amaya- rivera was driving when he crashed his s-u-v into another car. he and two of his female passengers were critically injured. one of the women died a week after the crash. amaya-rivera was arrested on saturday after he was released from the hospital. ( darya ) in the east bay ... pleasant hill police are investigating the first homicide in the city in the last six years. 23- year-old oshry elor was killed inside this home at norse drive and viking street saturday night. police believe elor was shot by a robber who was trying to steal his marijuana. the shooting had neighbors rattled because its so uncommon for the area. police have no released a description of the gunman. ( darya ) three men are behind bars after a motorcycle sideshow that caused a lot of chaos. this is video of the sideshow yesterday afternoon. you can see

them circling in front of police. witnesses say they even repeatedly kicked patrol cars. it started in fruitvale ... and ended in north oakland - at claremont and telegraph. police say some of bikers robbed an oakland gas station at gun point. about 60 to 70 people were involved in the sideshow. one of the bikers was arrested for wreckless driving ... the other two for stealing bikes. ( james ) a man is arrested after police say he stabbed two victims in the head at an oakland bart station. robert dolth of san francisco was arrested at the coliseum bart station. the victims told police they got on bart in south san francisco on saturday and noticied dolth was acting erratically. feeling unsafe, they got off at the coliseum station. that's when dolth followed and started attacking them. both the female victim and her brother were hospitalized. the brother is in critcal condition. officials say

says they found the car on the beach with a 55-year-old woman and her dog alive. the woman is recovering in the hospital. ( darya ) a pilot is dead after he crashed a small plane in petaluma. sonoma county sheriff's office got a call from the u-s air force about an emergency transponder that was activated in petaluma. shortly after a woman called petaluma police saying her husband had not come home. the pilot's family told authorities he left the petaluma airport on his way to san diego county. ( darya ) two men have been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2012 killing of a san francisco man. the murder happened in july 2012 ...when gary smith was shot and killed near the baldwin hotel on sixth street. prosecutors say trumillion ballard and anthony pratt got into a fight with the victim over money for the purchase of a dog. smith was shot three times and died. video from nearby businesses caught the shooting on camera. arrested again. bond is set at half a million dollars for the 28 year old. arrest records show he was taken in on friday in san francisco for violating three charges of a protective order. those stem from domestic violence charges back in march. this is video of aldon from previous arrests and court appearances. smith was arraigned last thursday and ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor. there was a violation and he was then arrested. he will be in court again on wednesday. ( james ) berkeley police have arrested the person involved in a strong-armed robbery near u-c berkeley. it happened at people's park in berkely saturday morning. police say the robber pulled the victim's cellphone from his hands and kicked and punched him. officers arrested the robber a short time later. the victim suffered minor injuries. the attackers name has not yet been released.
