spurs head coach greg popovich will not coach tonight. tonight the warriors and spurs will be opponents but right now they're all pulling for spurs coach gregg popovich.. his wife of 40 years erin just died.. she was just 67 years old. it was a shock to everybody when they found out... the warriors were
9:47 am
wrapping up a light practice in san antonio yesterday when they heard the news. coach steve kerr who's been a close family friend for years, couldn't bring himself to comment.. but kevin durant and others in the basketball world have been offering their sympathy.. when stuff like this happens.. it makes all your problems.. all your battles.. your work.. in this case basketball seem so small and insignificant. we don't know if popovich will coach the game tonight.. and we had no idea what he was going through all the while... apparently his wife had been suffering for months and even years.. and popovich kept working.. sometimes that keeps
9:48 am
you going and takes your mind off of things.. other times it might make you bitter to say the least.. so you can forgive pop for being curmudinly about the spurs losses.. then again his wife never let him off the hook.. he used to say how she would yell at him after a prickly press conference and tell him.. grow up.. be nice. the san jose sharks are getting ready to take on the new goldenchild of hockey.. the vegas golden knights. just like newest nhl team, the sharks swept their first round.. finishing off the anaheim ducks last night. but this isnt' the sharks first rodeo, so the national media isn't treating them like cinderalla, but the sharks are the real underdogs... that's
9:49 am
what sharks coach peter deboer wanted the media to say, so there ya go pete.. you're heavy underdogs.. and the knights are the nhl new darlings as darling as a bunch of brutish hockey players can be. bay area baseball goes to extra innings and both our teams come out on top: the san francisco giants beat the diamonbacks in arizona.. yay finally. they play again today. and the oakland a's 14 marathon playing white sox again.. another winswept the white sox with a 14 inning

marathon that lasted almost 6 hours.. to finish 12-11 the a's will change sox tomorrow when they play the boston red sox in oakland. i've always thought of the gronk as a caveman.. but with his attitude and antics.. you might think he's more of a jackass.. but he's actually a horse. this race horse is named rob gronkowski (i put gronk's face on it for fun).. but it is a real horse.. the trainer's a big patriots fan.. plus gronk the horse and the human are a lot alike: they're both 6 foot five.. the colt is 3 years old.. gronk acts about three. gronk's a champion and the horse could be.. it's headed to the kentucky derby next month.. and if he wins.. so will gronk.. because the football player just bought a minority steak in the horse. he says he'd also love to hop on and take a ride.. but at 265 pounds, that's probably not his best idea, but it's also not his worst. an update now on those babies in the u-s senate.. not whining grown-ups.. actual infants.. in a rare move, the senate voted last night to change their longstanding rules.. and

will now allow senators to bring a child under a year old onto the senate floor and breastfeed during votes. illinois senator tammy duckworth who just gave birth to her second child is the one who successfully pushed out the bouncing new baby bill. sorry i couldn't resist. and when you're kid grows up, you want 'em to make a difference, right? we talk a lot about sports heros.. well forget that, this marin county kid is amazing for something way better.. 15 year old jaden ramos built a prosthetic arm for a man in need and now he wants to help more people! jaden heard online about a man in romania who needed a prosethic arm and he thought.. i can do that. i have a computer and a 3 d printer.. he got the guy'smeasurements and three months later he sent the man the finished product. and look.. here he is: it fits and it works! jaden is thrilled:
9:52 am
was jumping up and down. i was walking home with my friends and i started freaeking out. he got it and it's working perfectly.> now jaden says he wants to make more prosthetics but he is having trouble finding people who need a prosthetic. he hopes by telling this story he'll get matched up with more people who need help. i'm april kennedy and i'm an arborist with pg&e in the sierras. since the onset of the drought, more than 129 million trees have died in california. pg&e prunes and removes over a million trees every year to ensure that hazardous trees can't impact power lines. and since the onset of the drought we've doubled our efforts. i grew up in the forests out in this area and honestly it's heartbreaking to see all these trees dying.
9:54 am
what guides me is ensuring that the public is going to be safer and that these forests can be sustained and enjoyed by the community in the future. ( darya ) there is nothing
