breaking news we are following is out of concord ... a fire at an apartment complex that is under construction forces evacuations. 2 people have been injured. this video was sent into the kron 4 newsroom early this morning.( darya ) at one point the flames were big and were shooting into the air. this is on galindo street near the renaissance square apartments. a robo call was sent out to people near the fire telling them to evacuate. ( james ) we have seen a handful of construction site fires recently in the bay area... this is video of an emeryville fire from may of 20-17. the building space was meant for apartments and retail stores. the fire started 5 months before it was scheduled to open. ( james ) and this video is from an oakland fire back in july of 20-17 at the alta waverly housing project. federal investigators did not determine what caused the massive fire. (wsvn) - two construction workers are dangling in the air off the side of a building in palmetto bay.7skyforce is over the scene at 18001 old culter road, tuesday morning, where both workers are seen dangling from the side of the building. the workers were on a scaffold, which fell. miami-dade fire rescue said both construction workers are secured by the ropes in their harnesses, however. ( james ) happening now... a warning from police in san mateo after more than a dozen cars were burglarized. monday morning... 14 people woke up to find their car windows smashed and items

missing from their cars. the burglaries happened all across san mateo along ottwa street... trollman avenue... flores street... ivy street and 4th avenue. police say the items stolen include electronics... bags and money. officer will be increasing patrols in the targeted areas. they are also asking people to check their surveillance cameras to see if they caught the burglar on camera. ( james ) happening today... more cameras are being installed along interstae 80 in san pablo. police are trying to make the freeway safer for commuters after a number of freeway shootings. there have been multiple shootings on that stretch of i-80... dating all they way back to 2015. the c-h-p says they will record everything that happens on the freeway 24 hours a day. more than 100 other cameras have already been installed through out the city. ( darya ) also happening today... lawyers for the man acquitted in the murder of kate steinle on pier 14 in san francisco... will now ask a

federal judge to drop one of the gun charges against jose garcia-zarate. garcia- zarate is an undocumented immigrant and is being held without bail. today a judge will consider a motion to drop one of the two gun charges he faces. garcia- zarate's lawyer claims that the two charges are redundant. kate steinle was killed in july of 2015... her death sparked a ntionwide debate on immigration and sanctuary cities. ( darya ) happening now... a tuberculosis scare at an elementary school in fairfield. district officials say a person at laurel creek elementary school recently developed active tuberculosis. if your child has come into contact with that person you will get a letter in the mail. solano county public health officials will be at the school testing those students. t-b is spread from person to person through the air. there will be a town hall meeting at the school's cafeteria tomorrow night. that is when officials will answer from parents and staff. bay... police in oakland arrested a man with a machete after he got into an argument with another person and then assaulted a police officer. it happened on 20th avenue... these are pictures from the scene. when police arrive... the man dropped the machete before attacking the officer. the officer is expected to be okay. ( darya ) on the peninsula ... two people are behind bars after it appears they were trying to sell a teenage girl for sex in san bruno. early sunday morning ... police responded to the area of east huntington avenue and herman street. there a young girl told police she was trying to get away from someone. police determined that the girl was a victim of human trafficking. police then arrested a man and woman from sacramento, sitting in a nearby car. the suspects are 26-year-old taroy lakeith and 27-year-old ieshea pearl marie. the two were booked into the san mateo human trafficking and conspiracy. ( darya ) two teenagers

are in juvenile hall on suspicion of burglarizing a home in livermore. it happened sunday at a home on pearl drive. police say a neighbor spotted two boys running from the home carrying pillowcases ... before getting into a car and speeding off. offcers spotted the get-away- vehicle on obsidian way and arrested the two. ( james ) our big international story... police in canada are looking for a motive following a deadly van strike. the suspect is in custody and being questioned. ten people are dead and more than 15 are hospitalized after the attack on pedestrians in toronto yesterday. the van traveled up to a mile before the driver crashed. 25 year old alek minassian was arrested following a standoff with police. one witness describes the chaotic scene.

( james ) president george h.w. bush has been hospitalized in houston with an infection .... just after attending the funeral of his wife barbara. officials say the 93-year-old bush is "responding to treatments and appears to be recovering." bush was admitted to houston methodist hospital sunday morning after an infection spread to his blood. ( james ) the gunman in a deadly shooting at a nashville, tennessee waffle house is in jail this morning on a two million dollar bond. officers arrested travis reinking one day after they say he opened fire at a restaurant... killing 4 people. police followed a tip and found him in a wooded area near his home. witnesses say reinking was nearly naked when he walked into the waffle house and started shooting. a customer rushed the gunman

while he was unloading and was able to disarm him... that's when reinking ran off. he now faces 4 murder charges for the killings. people who knew reinking say he enhibited signs of paranoia. they say he was delusional at times and was paranoid others were out to kill him. ( james ) new details about a triple shooting in modesto over the weekend. police say the mother... 28 year old lisandra corrales... shot and killed her two young sons before shooting herself. modesto police are still searching for why it happened. ( darya ) new this morning... chevron will have to pay 170-thousand dollars because of air quality violations at the richmond refinery. the air quality management district issued 25 violations dating bak to 2014 and 2015. some of those violations came from flaring incidents. air district officials say that all of the violations have since been correcred. ( darya ) the clock is

ticking for some homeless people living in tents on sidewalks in san francisco. san francisco mayor mark farrell is taking aim at what he calls a servicex resistant segment of the homeless population living in those tents. there are around 75- hundred homeless people on any given day in san francisco. that is according to the city's 2017 homeless count survey. the san francisco coalition on homelessness ... says actually there is three times that amount of people living on the street. city workers can start removing the tents at any time. ( james ) mayor mark farrel is also hiring ten workers to clean up needles that are littering the streets. the team will respond to resident complaints and remove needles and syringes from "hot spots" every day of the week. about 275-thousand needles are collected each month by the public health department and nonprofits. the city will provide 750-thousand dollars to the aids foundation

to hire the new needle clean up team. the workers would start as early as june. ( james ) a mother, accused of drinking and driving with her child in the back seat is now in jail. petaluma police arrested collette burum sunday after receiving reports of an erratic driver, who was driving into the city on lakeville highway. police say, she nearly caused a collison with a child in the back seat. petaluma officers went to burum's home... and they say she appeared to be intoxicated. that's when burum admitted to driving with her six- year old child. police say, at the time of the arrest, burum's blood alcohol content was nearly four -times the legal limit. ( james ) happening today... the sexual assault re-trial of comedian bill cosby could be turned over the the jury. both sides will deliver their closing arguments this morning. cosby is accused of raping a temple university emplyee back in 2004. cosby says the sex was consentual. the first trial ended in a

they say that people use free websites like craigslist to offer expensive breeds at low prices. they send you pictures of the puppy and then ask for the money for the pet plus money to transport the pet to you. then they tell you they need money for crates for the pupy and insurance. and it is not clear if the puppy even exists. some people have paid thousands of dollars before they realize they are being scammed. the f-t-c says the best advice is to just shop local. ( james ) in the south bay... residents can expect to hear more bart trains in the weeks and months ahead. testing is being ramped up on the 16 mile long extension form fremont to san jose. the new bart stations at berryessa and milpitas are complete. from now on.. two 3-car trains will be making practice runs as v-t-a puts the new system to test. testing began in october... but trial runs are going to get more complex now testing out every aspect of the infrstructure.

( darya ) a man was forcibly removed from a flight in miami ... after getting into a fight with another passenger.and its all caught on camera. police say 28- year-old jacob garcia ... had been rude to a couple on the flight headed to chicago. after the suspect was asked to move to a different seat by flight attendants ... he started using racial slurs. police were called in ... and

bars... accused of shooting and killing her husband. neighbors say they heard unusual noises coming from the union city home sunday night. they described the sounds like a "popping." the wife called 9-1-1 saying she shot her husband shortly after. police say they responded to the home back in 2004 because the husband was involved in a domestic violence case. the names of the couple have not been released. ( james ) the clock is ticking for some homeless people living in tents on sidewalks in san francisco. san francisco mayor mark farrell is taking aim at what he calls a servicex resistant segment of the homeless population living in those tents. there are around 75- hundred homeless people on any given day in san francisco. that is according to the city's 2017 homeless count survey. the san francisco coalition on homelessness ... says actually there is three times that amount of people living on the street. start removing the tents at any time. farrel is also hiring ten workers to eas that are littering the streets. the team will respond to resident complaints and remove needles and syringes from "hot spots" every day of the week. about 275-thousand needles are collected each month by the public health department and nonprofits. the city will provide 750-thousand dollars to the aids foundation to hire the new needle clean up team. the workers would start as early as june. ( darya ) the gunman in a deadly shooting at a nashville, tennessee waffle house is in jail this morning on a two million dollar bond. officers arrested travis reinking one day after they say he opened fire at a restaurant... killing 4 people. police followed a tip and found him in a wooded area near his home. witnesses say reinking was nearly naked when he walked into the waffle house and started shooting. a customer rushed the gunman while he was unloading and was able to disarm him... that's when reinking ran off. he

( darya ) oregon welfare officials say the family in the s-u-v that plunged off a cliff in mendocino county ... faced a child abuse investigation in another state in 2013. oregon child protective services obtained records from minnesota before investigating jennifer and sarah hart, who adopted six children. the agency closed its case after it couldn't determine whether abuse occurred. accoring to police ... four of the six kids have been recovered from the crash. invesitgators say jennifer was driving drunk and the crash was intentional.

( james ) ( james ) happening now... a warning from police in san mateo after more than a dozen cars were burglarized. monday morning... 14 people woke up to find their car windows smashed and items missing from their cars. the burglaries happened all across san mateo along ottwa street... trollman avenue... flores street... ivy street and 4th avenue. police say the items stolen include electronics... bags and money. officer will money. officer will be increasing patrols in the targeted areas. they are also asking people to check their surveillance cameras to see if they caught the burglar on camera.
