investigating a fatal shooting in albany. albany police say a man was found shot and hunched over a park bench on sunday. the found him on masonic avenue ... near ohlone greenway. the victim was taken to a hospital ... but he died. his name has not been released. police are still looking for the shooter. we spoke with neighbors who say they were shocked. (robin) anyone with information is asked to call albany police. (robin) four people had to be rescued and pulled out of the water in pacifica last night after their boat was pushed onto the beach. kron 4's gayle ong has the latest on what's next for the people who were living on board. :07

was made to deputies and they say the man was knocked into the water around that time. two men were on the boat and were trying to set an anchor to fish when a wake came along. the wake hit the boat... causing the men to fall off. neither man had a life jacket on but one was picked up by a passing boater. officials have not released the name of the boater. (robin) take a look at this... it was a very wet afternoon in the south bay. an s-u-v crashed into a fire hydrant... flooding walsh avenue near northwestern parkway in santa clara. these pictures were taken by the santa clara fire department. you can see it was quite the mess. fortunately... no one was seriously hurt. (robin) several small earthquakes rattled the east bay. they shook danville yesterday afternoon. and according to the u.s. geological survey, two were 3.0 magnitude. kron 4's michelle kingston was in downtown danville to gage peoples thoughts on all the shaking. @mkingstonnews"most people say it's just part of living here in california, but they've been feeling quite a few of these small quakes lately, never knowing if a big one is going to strike."susan snyder, danville"at this point, i'm so used to it that it doesn't even phase me."doug lauer, danville"it just kind of gives you a quick jolt and you feel it, you heart races for a minute but then its gone."a 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck the danville area just after 10:30 sunday morning ... and within five minutes -- 2 1.9s and a 2.7 also rumbled the area.john wintersteen, danville"you don't know whether you should jump up and go outside or just wait it out so it's always that indecision so i waited and we had another one a little while later and probably about 10 minutes after that i felt another one." doug lauer, danville"you pause and wait a minute to see if there's more coming and generally there isn't, but we've had on average in the last few days 3 or 4 of them." doug lauer and his wife have called danville home for 29 years and say they're used to feeling these small quakes. doug lauer, danville"every once in a while you get, you have a month or so you feel a few of them and then it goes away for a couple years."in just over an hour -- seven earthquakes struck the danville area on sunday morning ...and another 3.0 hit about four hours later at 3:25 in the afternoon ... we asked around but no one seeemed to feel that one susan snyder,

(robin) daly city police are investigating an attempted homicide at a bowling alley. it happened on saturday night at the classic bowling center on king drive. this is cell phone video from the shooting. police say a man was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. the owner of the bowling alley said he fears this shooting will hurt his business.

(robin) many of us probably have expired prescription drugs in our medicine cabinet. so what do we do with them? the d-e-a has a solution... they partnered with the alameda county district attorney's office for a "drug take back day." kron 4's gayle ong reports. it's a good feeling these alameda residents say to finally get rid of old pills that have been cluttering up their medince cabinets. :09 :13there was a steady flow of people at the alameda courthousealameda county district attorney's office partnered with the d-e-a for national "prescription take back day"the event is in it's ninth yearit's an effort to combat the growing problem of prescription drug abuse and addiction. :14

attorney assistant chief of inspectors says: "there's overdoses everyday where kids get into prescription drug medications that are either in the parents house or grandparents house or they're getting access to it and without knowing what it is or what effects are.">the county d-a's office sponsored four locations :04and though it's called prescription take back day, people are also encouraged to bring over the counter medication that's expired or no longer needed. :09participants say getting rid of their unwanted medications not only makes them feel safer -- it's also good for the environment. :09 :21

(nat) "we have what thanos wants, so that's what we use." the record-setting "avengers: infinity war" includes dozens of comic-book heroes... though

not deadpool, of course -- not that he didn't try! to celebrate the marvel movie's record-setting debut, ryan reynolds, who plays deadpool, tweeted out the character's coffee stained "rejection letter" from tony stark, denying deadpool's reequest to join the avengers back in 20-12. reynolds' comment: "from a guy who never knows when to quit. i'm glad you guys never did. congrats avengers." "deadpool two" opens may 18th, with "infinity war" villain josh brolin crossing over to play deadpool's new nemesis, "cable.""i think it's good, except it sucks. so let me do the plan, and that way, it might be really good."the popularity of "infinity war" appears to have prompted a change by the film subscription service movie- pass. members can see a movie every day for a monthly or annual fee, but according to the hollywood reporter, movie-pass now prohibits repeat viewings of the same movie. the company's c-e-o tells the magazine, it's to keep users from turning their memberships into a "cottage industry" by selling their tickets. members who want to see "infinity war" again will just have to fork over like everybody else -- and we mean everybody. in hollywood, i'm david daniel.

(robin) it is last call for good, at a popular san jose bar. the owner of "the place".. says he couldn't get the landlords couldn't get the landlords to renew the lease. kron 4's hermela aregawi has the story. "the place" is having it's ultimate last call sunday night.the nieghborhood dive bar is closing after 30 years. devastated this is like my go to bar. it's kind of like that neighborhood bar, everyone knows each other, everyone knows each other story. it's

going to be really hard not having this place around, somewhere to go. it's kind of in the name you know, the palce, that's just where everybody goes to you know. owner kevin rosenkrantz open the dive in 1988 as "kevin's place"but wasn't able to renew the lease.. so on monday.. the doors will be closed permanently. kevin rosenkrantz/owneri'm devastated by it. i've been here for 30 years so. seen a lot of course, a lot of good times a lot of bad. it's been a good little journey. it's kind of a sad sad day. the place has a lot of history.. the bar and its pool table were used for "kiss shot".. a 1989 movie starting whoopi goldbergpeople in the community say it also has a lot of personal history for them...and they are sad to see it go. denise dunbar/bartender i'll miss the bartenders the most the people i became friends with. and then i'll

(hermela aregawi) the owner tells me.. he is looking to open another dive in santa cruz. so that might be where the new place is. reporting in san jose hermela aregawi kron 4 news (robin) many residents in concord are relieved to be waking up in their homes this morning ... they were evacuated by last week's huge apartment fire. kron four's philippe djegal has the story. it's good to be back home -- says youssef (you-siff) abdallah.. his apartment building on galindo street is still in tact. his apartment unit itself -- sparred any damage.youssef abdallah/resident- "in the

hallway upstairs and in the restroom, i can smell the smoke, so i don't know where it's coming from, but thank god, none of the clothes smell like smoke. the apartments great on the inside." although local and federal fire investigators are still around... and, will be for quite some time... abdallah doesn't mind -- saying he understands the clean-up in concord could be lengthy, while investigators work to determine a cause of the fire. he just appreciates being allowed back in before any more time passes. youssef abdallah/resident- "being home and just laying in your bed and watching your shows and relaxing. it was good -- i just stayed home." the city of concord removed the red tag on this apartment complex once it concluded there was no further serious risk of parts of the damaged structure collapsing onto the apartments. friday -- some 250 residents were allowed back in.robert marshall/fire marshall- "for most of the week, the uh, uh, air quality inside of the apartments and inside of the apartment building area, uh, was very unhealthy. so, for that reason, we wanted to keep people out." the ordeal stressful for pets as well. john herring and his cat have been staying with friends the past few days. a little surprised that the fire turned

(robin) nine people in oakland have lost their home... after an apartment fire. the fire happened on 39th avenue yesterday afternoon. when firefighters arrived they saw flames coming from the right side of the building. investigators say they the cause of the fire may have been electrical.

(robin) reports say ronny jackson will not return to his position as president donald trump's personal physician. jackson recently withdrew his nomination for secretary of veterans affairs after several allegations surfaced. jackson is accused of being intoxicated during an overseas trip, loosely handling prescription pain medications and creating a toxic work environment. he has denied the allegations. home... after an apartment fire in oakland. the fire happened on 39th avenue yesterday afternoon. when firefighters arrived they saw flames coming from the right side of the building. investigators say they the cause of the fire may have been electrical. ( darya ) a crash along 6-80 in pleasanton kills one person. it happened yesterday morning on yesterday morning on the stoneridge drive off-ramp. police say the car went down an embankment... and landed on its roof. the driver died. ( james ) berkeley police are looking for an armed robber. a female cal student fought off the man who tried to rob her early saturday morning. the attack happened at college avenue and channing way. the woman says the robber had a gun. u-c berkeley police released this photo of the man. he's in his 20's and about 5 foot 8 inches tall. police are telling people to stay in groups when walking around. abdallah/resident- "in the hallway upstairs and in the restroom, i can smell the smoke, so i don't know where it's coming from, but thank god, none of the clothes smell like smoke. the apartments great on the inside." although local and federal fire investigators are still around... and, will be for quite some time... abdallah doesn't mind -- saying he understands the clean-up in concord could be lengthy, while investigators work to determine a cause of the fire. he just appreciates being allowed back in before any more time passes. youssef abdallah/resident- "being home and just laying in your bed and watching your shows and relaxing. it was good -- i just stayed home." the city of concord removed the red tag on this apartment complex once it concluded there was no further serious risk of parts of the damaged structure collapsing onto the apartments. friday -- some 250 residents were allowed back in.robert marshall/fire marshall- "for most of the week, the uh, uh, air quality inside of the apartments and inside of the apartment building area, uh, was very unhealthy. so, for that reason, we wanted to keep people out." the ordeal stressful for pets as well. john herring and his cat have

( darya ) police have arrested a woman who ran over a c-h-p officer in san francisco. police say nicole wade dragged the nicole wade dragged the officer more than a thousand feet... as she tried to drive away from a traffic stop friday night. she eventually crashed into the side of a bridge rail. the officer has been released from the hospital. ( darya ) the alameda county fire department had an unexpected surprise when they responded to reports of a downed airplane. officials discovered it was actually a homemade submarine.

a rescue boat towed the submarine to the emeryville marina where it was registered and tagged. ( james ) the c-d-c is announcing ten people's kidneys are failing after they contracted e. coli from romaine lettuce. since the outbreak began in march... nearly 100 people are sick with e. coli. at least 46 of those people have been hospitalized by a potentially deadly form of the bacteria. illnesses have been diagnosed in 22 states... with new cases in mississippi.. tennessee and wisconsin. officials have not yet identified the source of the tainted lettuce except that it came from yuma, arizona. the u-s food and drug administration is urging people to not eat any romaine

( james ) the parkland florida school shooter appeared in court friday afternoon. nikolas cruz faces 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted murder for the february 14th massacre at marjory stoneman douglas high school. at his friday hearing, cruz waived his right to a speedy trial through his attorney.he's due back in court may 25th.cruz's lawyers say he's willing to plead guilty -- if prosecutors drop the death penalty. so far that deal hasn't happened. if prosecutors do seek the death penalty, cruz may be one of the few mass shooting suspects to ever face their victims in court. 101 ( james ) happening today... the man convicted of trying to kill an armoured truck guard and rob the truck will be sentenced. ivan morales and another man followed an armored truck to a bank in windsor in 2016. they held up the guard, stole money and shot the guard in the head. morales then lead police on a four hour chase that ended in calistoga... where morales was found hidding in a culvert. the guard who was shot ádid survive his injuries. ( james ) amazon c-e-o jeff bezos is one step closer to sending paying customers into space. bezos' company blue origin sucessfully launched its eighth rocket test flight. the new shepard capsule is designed to carry up to six space tourists. 'mannequin skywalker' a dummy astronaut was included on the trip. new shepard then came back to earth and landed on a platform near the launch site. blue origin will start test flights later this year to start carrying people... but no target dates have been set. ( robin ) ( james ) the australian government pledged half a billion dollars to restore and protect the great barrier reef. that's according to the australian environment minister josh frydenberg. frydenberg tweeted that this is "the largest ever single investment" to protect the reef. he says the reef contributes over six billion dollars annually to the economy.
