( darya ) police are investigating a fatal shooting in albany. police say a man was found shot and hunched over a park bench yesterday. the found him on masonic avenue ... near ohlone greenway. the victim was taken to a hospital ... but he died. his name has not been released. police are still looking for the shooter. we spoke with neighbors who say they were shocked.

( james ) demolition resumes today in concord... nearly one week after a fire burned through an under- construction apartment complex. on friday... more than 250 people were able to get back into their homes. they live in a complex right next to the one that burned. one man says his apartment was not damaged... but he could still smell the smoke. investigators are still trying to figure out what sparked tuesday's fire. ( james ) a boater is missing this morning after he went overboard. it happened near the antioch bridge on saturday morning. just before 8:30... a distress call was made to deputies after two men were seen in the water. the men were trying to set an anchor to fish when a wake came along. the wake hit the boat... causing the men to

fall off. neither man had a life jacket on but one was picked up by a passing boater. ( darya ) four people are rescued from the water in pacifica after their boat was pushed onto the beach. the group was on their way to san diego over the weekend when the boat started having engine problems. strong currents ended up pushing the sailboat to the linda mar beach. all 4 passengers were rescued... including a woman who is 7-months pregnant. < "kids lucky to be alive. too much could have gone wrong."> ( darya ) the boat captain told us she plans to have the boat fixed... and countinue their journey to san diego. city police are investigating an attempted murder at a bowling alley. it happened saturday night at the classic bowling center on king drive. this is cell phone video from the shooting. police say a man is in critical man is in critical condition. ( james ) nine people in oakland have lost their home... after an apartment fire in oakland. the fire happened on 39th avenue yesterday afternoon. when firefighters arrived they saw flames coming from the right side of the building. investigators say they the cause of the fire may have been electrical. ( james ) also in oakland -- you're looking at pictures from police of cars being towed. this happened after officers got calls about sideshows that happened throughout the city on sunday. police have not said if anyone was arrested. ( james ) a crash along 6-80 in pleasanton kills one person. it happened yesterday morning on the stoneridge drive off-ramp. police say the car went down an embankment... and landed on its roof. the driver died. ( james ) new this morning... police are searching for a man who robbed a shell gas station in santa rosa. this is surveillance video of the thief leaving the store last night. police say the man brandished a weapon at the clerk... and demanded money. the theif then got into a red car that was waiting outside. officers searched for the man and car but were unable to find them. ( james ) take a look at this... it was a very wet afternoon in the south bay. an s-u-v crashed into a fire hydrant... flooding walsh avenue near northwestern

parkway in santa clara. these pictures were taken by the santa clara fire department. you can see it was quite the mess. no one was seriously hurt. ( darya ) in the east bay... the alameda county fire department had an unexpected surprise when they responded to reports of a downed airplane. officials discovered it was actually a homemade submarine. a rescue boat towed the submarine to the emeryville marina where it was registered and tagged. ( darya ) police have arrested a woman who ran over a c-h-p officer in san francisco. police say nicole wade dragged the officer more than a thousand feet... as she tried to drive

away from a traffic stop friday night. she eventually crashed into the side of a bridge rail. the officer has been released from the hospital. ( james ) a hit and run in berkley destroyed a p-g and e pole and shut down a major intersection for several hours as crews repaired it. fortunately, no one was injured. it happened at the corner of ashby and and acton. a man driving in the eastbound lane hit the pole and then walked away from the scene with a female passenger. berkeley police found several bottles of alcohol in the car. it took pg&e crews all day to replace the power pole. ( james ) people in alameda were able to dispose of expired vitamins and medication. the alameda county district attorney's office partnered with the drug enforcement administration for national "prescription take back day". the event took place on saturday and this was its 9th year doing it. the purpose of the event is to combat the problem of prescription drug abuse ... and addiction. ( james ) the c-d-c is announcing ten people's kidneys are failing after they contracted e. coli from romaine lettuce. since the outbreak began in march... nearly 100 people are sick with e. coli. at least 46 of those people have been hospitalized by a potentially deadly form of the bacteria. illnesses have been diagnosed in 22 states... with new cases in mississippi.. tennessee and wisconsin. officials have not yet identified the source of the tainted lettuce except that it came from yuma, arizona. the u-s food and drug administration is urging people to not eat any romaine lettuce. father handed to him for bullying. michael yager was outraged when he found out his son jacob ... bullied multiple classmates at his middle school. he made jacob stand on a busy street and hold a sign that said ' i'm a bully. honk if you hate bullies'. it didn't take long for people to start honking. but not everybody agreed with the father's punishment. some people told him he was bullying his own son and even started yelling at him. as for his son jacob... he says he felt embarrased ... but he learned his lesson. ( darya ) happening today... 49er linebacker rueben foster will be back in court. foster is expected to ask a judge to drop one of the weapons charges against him. police say they found a high capacity magazine in foster's home... those are illegal in califronia. foster's home was searched after a former girlfriend accused him of assaulting her. she told the cops he beat her up and threw her out of his house in los gatos.. but the girlfriend now says it was another woman who hit her and not foster.

( darya ) happening today... the man convicted of trying to kill an armoured truck guard and rob the truck will be sentenced. ivan morales and another man followed an armored truck to a bank in windsor in 2016. they held up the guard, stole money and shot the guard in the head. morales then lead police on a four hour chase that ended in calistoga... where morales was found hidding in a culvert. the guard who was shot ádid survive his injuries. ( james ) a man is behind bars... accused of stealing a car from a livermore dealership. this happened at the livermore honda on las positas road...after a test drive. police tell us that a man got into a car... right after the salesperson got out. officers found the man near portola avenue. 22-year-old robert earl jones was arrested. ( james ) berkeley police are looking for an armed robber. a female cal student fought off the man who tried to rob her early saturday morning. the attack happened at college avenue and channing way. the woman says the robber had

a gun. u-c berkeley police released this photo of the man. he's in his 20's and about 5 foot 8 inches tall. police are telling people to stay in groups when walking around. ( darya ) officials in contra costa county are testing new voter equipment ahead of the june 5th election. the machines are being tested for accuracy. they will count about 600-thousand mail-in ballots. county officials will host a public demonstration of the equipment on june 1st in martinez. ( darya ) another big story we are following this morning... after a month long journey to the u-s mexico border hundreds of migrants will have have to plead their case. they will surrender to border officals and say why they nt to enter the u-s. they must partake in an interview process and from there go through either immigration or the asylum

( darya ) police have arrested a woman who ran over a c-h-p officer in san francisco. police say nicole wade dragged the officer more than a thousand feet... as she tried to drive away from a traffic stop friday night. she eventually crashed into the side of a bridge rail. the officer has been released from the hospital. ( james ) a hit and run in berkley destroyed a p-g and e pole and shut down a major intersection for several hours as crews repaired it. fortunately, no one was injured. it happened at the corner of ashby and and acton. a man driving in the eastbound lane hit the pole and then walked away from the scene with a female passenger. berkeley police found several bottles of alcohol in the car. it took pg&e crews all day to replace the power pole. ( james ) the parkland florida school shooter appeared in court friday afternoon. nikolas cruz faces 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted murder for the february 14th massacre at marjory stoneman douglas high school. at his friday hearing, cruz waived his right to a speedy trial through his attorney.he's due back in court may 25th.cruz's lawyers say he's willing to plead guilty -- if prosecutors drop the death penalty. so far that deal hasn't happened. if prosecutors do seek the death penalty, cruz may be one of the few mass shooting suspects to ever face their victims in court.

fire fighting is a very dangerous profession. we have one to two fires a day and when you respond together and you put your lives on the line, you do have to surround yourself with experts. and for us the expert in gas and electric is pg&e. we run about 2,500/2,800 fire calls a year and on almost every one of those calls pg&e is responding to that call as well.

( james ) officials in contra costa county are testing new voter equipment ahead of the june 5th election. the machines are being tested for accuracy. they will count about 600-thousand mail-in ballots. county officials will host a public demonstration of the equipment on june 1st in martinez.
