( darya ) technology is helping parents keep track of their children.. whether they like it or not. ( james ) as reporter jack royer tells us.. with a few clicks on your cell phone you can discover not only where your kids are but what they are doing. parents with children of a certain age have likely heard or them or used them- tracking apps, that keep tabs on your kids ever move. apps like life360 show you every detail...down to the speed your child is driving, and where they've been going. "18:45 when they got their first phone it was either 7th or 8th grade." craig martin uses the app to track his 4 teenage daughters. the youngest 12, the oldest 18. all of them, "shows where all of our phones are located" just an iphone touch away. 35-40 craig martin/parent of teenagers "19:32 we just said this is the way it is. but some parent's aren't as open about it. many try to spy on their kids. dr. dale wisley has decades of experience as a child phycologist, and says transparency is key. person what you're doing. if you're going to carry around something like a cell phone, i need to be able to know how you're using it and make sure you're using it responsibly and that's reasonable contract to enter into with kids." for 15 year old morgan madden, life looks a lot different now thanks to tracking apps. she's following her passion - she says - all because her parents snuck the tracking app on her phone.1:23-1:30 morgan madden/parents use tracking app "15:15 i was like what the hell, like why are you doing this. why can't you trust me you know?"she says she was hanging out with people her parents thought might get her into trouble and admits lying to her parents often about where she was. but an iphone app called "find my friends" got her out of trouble. her parents where able to find her, and go to her exact location- when she needed it the most 15:46 i'm really grateful for that app.." morgan's mom, joye, hopes other parents will consider the right- and wrong ways- to track their kids. "i think the best way to do it is to sit down and have a conversation and that way they don't feel like they are being followed. we ended up having an agreement and a contract that if she removed it from her phone then she lost her phone."free apps like "find my friends" just show you the current location of your child's phone. but

others...like life 360...provide incredible detail. history of where your teenager has driven, how fast they drove to get their- even how much battery is remaining on their phone. in society today you don't know what's going to happen. it's sort of a mental and emotional security blanket for us. and a reality of modern parenting. 20:14 "we'll never get to the point where teenagers are going to tell their parents everything they're doing. and we shouldn't be there. ---- technology should not be a substitute for the hard work of being a good parent in the life of a child." the region today in advance of an approaching upper level system. a few showers will be possible over the interior portions of the region wednesday morning as the weather system pushes inland. a drying and slight warming trend is then forecast late in the week under a weak ridge of high pressure. warriors and rockets: now this feels like the real nba finals.. the best players on the planet playing at break neck speed: attacking the lane, hitting jump shots and boxing out defenders.. and that was just the warriors! the rockets well.. they tried but the warriors were just too
9:49 am
much. golden state stole home court advantage from houston in the western conference finals with a 119 to 106 victory in game one. nobody on the rockets could stop kevin durant.. he had 37 points. his former teammate james harden carried the rockets with 41 points.. but he didn't have enough overall firepower to help him. we did: klay thompson added 28 points, stephen curry chipped in 18 and draymond green just five points, but nine assists and nine boards with attitude. they call it fouls we call it passion. but the warriors aren't getting too emotional, this is just game one. < curry-"you don't win the series winning one game. we got a lot of work to do, we got to come back, get a little greedy in game 2 and try to get another one" "durant- you know its a long series in a 7 game series. so we know we gotta come out with a lot of energy for the next game. you know try to even this thing up. so we just gotta stay

focused "> ( darya ) but get this.. kd says you ain't seen nothin yet. the warriors have a lot more. he says the team isn't even operating at peak efficiency... and that lebron.. should scare you. cuz while you're back east trying to get your first win from boston tonight, the warriors are outplaying a team that was specifically engineered to beat them.. so remember how lebron said he had zero concern over losing game one to the celtics? well lebron.. you should be very concerned about the warriors. place your bets and let the baby races begin... it may seem far fetched but really the supreme court's ruling could open the door to betting on any sport or game.. pro, college, high school.. so why not baby races.. the states will decide how far they want to go and how they will regulate. this basically turns players in to betting chips and could mean huge money for
9:51 am
sports teams and tv because there will be a lot more eyes on games if gamblers have money riding on them. ( darya ) the big concern is how to preserve the integrity of games.. will players shave points, throw games, will they bet themselves? and we've seen what happens when a player misses a goal or fumbles the ball and loses the game.. they get death threats.. what if that got worse because that loss cost somebody their life savings. then you got gambling addiction and all the rest. so this is going to be very complicated. the giants
9:52 am
have two wins in a row now.. not earthshaking.. but oh yes it was! watch the camera shake as the giants played the reds last night in san fransisco.. but joe vatto doesn't bat an eye.. he keeps on hitting and chris stratton keeps on pitching.. game carries on.. a 3.5 quake is far from loma prieta.. maybe it woke up the offense.. giants scored 10 runs in this win. maybe the a's felt it in boston.. cuz they beat the red sox 6 to 5. i love california.. and if you're going to marry a hollywood actress.. you're going to get plenty of drama. that's show biz harry. but i do feel terrible for megan markle.. days before saturday's royal wedding, her father has pulled out and now he's not going to walk her down the isle. and this is why: after refusing tons of
