(robin) warriors coach steve kerr says he'd love to make a championship parade an annual event. as a player... kerr won 5 championships and now he has 3 as a coach. the word "dynasty" is often brought up when talking about the warriors. kerr says he isn't getting into rankings... but he says the championship feeling has a common thread.

lot to get to this summit in singapore on monday.sot: kim jong un, north korean leader: "for us the past has been holding us back, and old practices and prejudices have been covering our eyes and ears."the world watched as the two symbolically shook hands in their first meeting. cal state east bay associate professor dr. maria uruoste says the historic meeting hopefully paved the way for better understanding between the two nations...sot: dr. maria urtuoste, cal state east bay professor// "i think the best outcome for just talking about security relations between the us and north korea would be to have a moer direct contact with each other to avoid misunderstandings and miscommunitcation."she says the hope is the two can agree on some realistic terms for a plan to denuclearize north korea which remains the objective for the u.s.a move like that could help north koreans economically if sanctions are lifted in return. but she adds this summit extends beyond the u.s. and may be a gateway to strengthen relationships for surrounding countries as well.sot: dr.

(robin) we now know the name of the little girl killed in a crash along 680 near sunol. 9-year-old alma aguilar died after her parents' car was rear-ended. both of her parents were hurt in the crash. her father is still in the hospital. police say it's unlikely that the driver who hit the aguilars' car will face charges. authorities do ánot believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. brisbane after a truck carrying hot sauce bottles overturned. this is video of the scene on monday morning-- on northbound 101 at the bayshore offramp. the driver of the truck says the load shifted.. causing it to overturn. the truck was filled with various types of sauces that spilled on the roadway. no one was hurt in the incident. (robin) plus... a u-s air force officer who went missing over three decades ago... has been found ááalive in the bay area... (robin) and after the break... a car crashes in a home and it was all caught on camera... now police are looking for the suspected driver-- who managed to get away. search is on for a hit and run driver that crashed into a home near half moon bay. the crash was captured on video. as kron 4's gabe slate explains... the homeowner learned about this crash because of his security web cameras. nats - noise just after 8 pm on june 7th the chp says a black bmw m coupe was was driving recklessly on magellan avenue in miramar, which is just north of half moon bay. the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into david hodge's house. sound from david hodge - car ran into home "i think the most chilling part is the guy just drove off without wondering if he killed anybody " david hodge is currently in sweedan, where he has been since before the crash his web security camera system alerted him of the crash, he logged into his account and watched the video. thankfully no one was hurt but david said it's a highly trafficked area. and he his haunted by the thought that his kid could have been run

over had they been home. sound from david hodge - car ran into home"i mean what was this guy thinking the street is full of pedestrians and bikers and i have a daughter " in san francisco gabe slate kron 4 news (robin) two state lawmakers are calling for action... after video of an oakland barbeque went viral. they're looking to address racial bias in police calls. the video shows a white woman calling police on a group of black people barbequing at lake merritt last month. now... state senators ricardo lara and holly mitchell have sent a letter to the state attorney general and the state justice department. they're asking law enforcement officials to look into identifying potential racial bias in police calls... and how

officers should respond in those situations. (robin) in the east bay... a dispute between a landlord and a tenant .... ends with death threats and a kidnapping. oakland police say it started with a disagreement. an oakland tenant kidnapped his 70-year-old landlord and assaulted her family member. the tenant hit the relative and then put the elderly woman into his car.. he threatened to kill her multiple times. he led police on a chase from oak street to lorenzo avenue. he eventually surrended and police say the victim is safe. < "no one got hurt as far as the victim of the kidnapping. the suspect was safely taken into custody and the family member who was assaulted by this tenant, he has received medical attention">(robin) for now the tenant remains behind bars and the 70- year-old landlord has been reunited with her family. force captain vanished 35- years ago .... there was speculation he was kidnapped by the soviets...who were trying to get the secrets he held. but as kron 4's dan kerman tells us, he was allegedly hiding in plain sight .. right here in the bay area. sot: did you know his name? tim tim is the man daly city neighbors say lived in this home.sot: i would see him walking through the neighborhood, he was retired like i am, a quick hi how are you, very friendly and very pleasant individual.but it turns out tim is actually william howard hughes junior an air force captain who disappeared in new mexico 35 years ago while working on classified planning and analysis of nato surveillance systems during the cold war. actualhiding in plain site in in california. sot: he seemed like a good person, big sports fan, giants, warriors.last

wednesday hughes was captured during a passport fraud investigation. after claiming to be barry o berine, he was confronted about inconsistencies about his identify and admitted to being hughes. hughes told authorities he was depressed about being in the air force and decided to leave, creating the false identity standup dan kerman/sf: hughes has been charged with desertion and is being held at travis air force base. he faces up to five years of confinement, forfeiture of all pay and a dishonorable discharge. dan kerman kron4 news.113/std (robin) take a look at this ... dash cam video of an illinois police officer saving this toddler from a busy highway last month. at one point, a large truck can be seen passing within a few feet of the child. the officer pulled over immediately and began chasing the boy, who ran away from him. he was able to grab the boy and pull him out of harm's way. the child wondered away from his home while his mom was in another room... the department awared the sergeant a life saving award last week for his heroic work. no

(robin) it has been almost a week since the election... and people who live in san francisco are still waiting to find out who will be their next mayor. london breed has a lead of about 16-hundred votes. but there are still lots of ballots to be counted. kron 4's ali reid has the story. it more than likely won't be this week.it's still a very tight race. both candidates are within a sliver of a percentage point of victory.

pkgelection personnel continue to count votes .. every day .... 12 hours a day.we'll get several thousand through tomorrowlondon breed maintains the lead with a total 106- thousand 536 votes.mark leno is right behind at 104-935. that less than a one percent difference.with breed at 50.38 percent.and leno at 49.52.john arntzby friday we'll have mostly everything donewith a difference of 16-hundred votes so far. both sides remain optimistic.in a statement, senator leno's spokesperson zoe kleinfeld says in part ... "with a historic voter turnout of over 50 percent, we need to honor each and every vote cast in this election" london breed's camp says "we are pleased that every day since the election we have held strong and gained votes but of san francisco's department of eltions says he's never seen a race this tight in the 16 years he's worked at city hall. right now vote by mail ballots are being counted. then ....on monday down at our warehouse on pier 48 we're

(robin) a los angeles man died over the weekend at sequoia national park after he was swept away by a river. and now park rangers are warning visitors to be cautious. the 36 year old was with family and friends. they say it's unclear how the man got into the water....but the snow melt in the southern sierra there is making these rivers fast and dangerous. (robin) though this is the first drowning of the year for sequoia national park, there have been several water rescues.

the parade begins at broadway and 11th street at 11am. from there the players, riding busses, will go north and then turn right onto 20th street. then they turn right again onto harrisson then left onto 19th street. the parade then merges onto lakeside drive and ends at lakeside and 13th street.in preparation, the city of oakland has been building grandstands and putting up fencing all along the route. fans can watch the from any point along the parade route route as long as they stay behind the fencing. there will also be three first aid station and two lost children locations near the parade.

we're giving away today, which otherwise would go in the compost." instead, while customers at berkeley natural grocery sift through and pick the food they want to buy... the stuff that doesn't make the shelves gets packed up in the back -- headed to another destination.jon berman/store manager- "this is a piece of rubarb, and its got some blemishes on it, you cut that away and its just as good as any product we have on our shelf." jon berman is the store manager, partnering with the alameda county community food bank and it's grocery rescue program.jon berman/store manager- "we won't give anything that we don't trust completely -- that we wouldn't eat ourselves." twice a week... berkeley natural grocery boxes up perfectly edible and safe food that otherwise may be thrown out... then donates it to the berkeley food pantry, which picks up the boxes, and, organizes the items at it's location... where those less fortunate can pack a cart with food to feed their families.dharma galang/berkele y food pantry- "since we're participated in grocery rescue, we've never had a food shortage. before that, we would actually run out of food at times, but since we started this program, we have never run out of food. so, we've never had to turn anyone away

with nothing." in the past six years... berkeley natural grocery has donated about 140-thousand pounds of food to the food bank... which has about 200 partners collecting and distributing food throughout the county. last year, the food bank gave out more than four million pounds of food directly from the grocery rescue program. michael altfest/accfb- "one of the benefits of this program is that the grocers and the agencies are generally in the same neighborhood. so those grocery stores are actually helping the people in their own neighborhoods."jon berman/store manager- "it's the right thing to do. you know, and it just sort of aligns with our values, you as a store, what we've trying to do." and, considering the food bank serves one in every five alameda county residents... whatever help grocers can provide is welcomed and appreciated. in berkeley, philippe djegal, kron four news. traveling the country to treat police officers for their service to their communities. tyler carach handed out donuts at the polk county river center in des moines, iowa. dunkin donuts donated the donuts given to police officers... but carach's project is funded through donations on gofundme. he said it all started one day when he asked his mom if he could buy some police officers a box of mini donuts at his local grocery store. < "and then i asked my mom why were they so happy over a snack. and she said it wasn't because of a snack because they get snacks all the time, its because you said thank you.">(robin) carach and his mother have traveled to 30 states in the last two years to deliver thousands of donuts to police officers. adorable pig found roaming around concord. contra costa animal services says the pig is in good condition and doesn't look like it has been abused. they are looking for the owner but say the pig will have to stay with them until thursday. a spokeperson for the agency says this is actually not the first time they have picked up a stray pig. apparently they routinely get calls for loose farm animals in the area. still it is going to be the quickest way to attend today's parade.before you head out the door this morning - i have a few tips for you.take vo:the 19th street and 12th street stations are the two you will want to put as your destination today...you'll pop up right in the action. expect lines at the clipper card machines.if you can have someone drop you off at bart rather than driving to one as parking lots will be filling up quick!bart and ac transit are ready for the large crowds running rush hour service all day long and using every train available.bart officials may have to direct foot traffc to another station nearby, change platforms as needed, or skip stations with overly crowded platforms.you could also take the ac transit, but buses will be re-directed along the many road closures for the parade. above all do not bring a car downtown oakland - i got here just after three this morning and there no parking signs everywhere and people already started staking out spots then. leave early to get here before the crowds - and most importantly go warriors!live in oakland, sara stinson, kron 4 news.###
