about is trying to get a wall no matter what it costs." democratic lawmakers not mincing words about president trump after touring customs and border protection processing centers in south texas on sunday.sen. jeff merkley: "the president has also argued in the last few days that this policy gives him political leverage with legislation. hurting kids to get legislative leverage is unacceptable. it is evil." customs and border protection released these photos sunday of the detention facility in mcallen, texas.the media was able to tour the facility but barred from shooting any pictures or video due to what customs officials cited as privacy concerns.congress members who saw inside compared it to a prison. rep. mark pocan: "you don't think a child who is in this facility who has a 6 by 10 living area - by the way a supermax prison cell is 8 by 12 - a six by ten area and you get out two hours a day? that to i think a child 10 years old i a prison."homeland security

secretary kirstjen nielsen took to twitter late sunday denying any policy of separating families at the border saying... "...we have continued the policy from previous administrations and will only separate if the child is in danger, there is no custodial relationship between 'family' members, or if the adult has broken a law." the white house says the goal of the border policy is to deter illegal border crossings --- one of those alleged crossings turning deadly sunday.authorities in texas say a vehicle packed with undocumented immigrants flipped near the mexico border.. after being chased by the border patrol... ejecting 12 people and killing at least five. i'm melisa raney reporting. (robin) house minority leader nancy pelosi will visit the u-s-mexico border here in california today... to see the impact of the administration's efforts to crack down on illegal immigration. (robin) in the north bay... the santa rosa fire department are investigating multiple brush fires. this past weekend fire crews responded to the area of hearn avenue and the railroad tracks for multiple calls for bursh fires. crews arrived anfound three separate fires. then the department received multiple calls for fires near dutton and west third street as well as along the santa rosa creek trail from dutton aveune to fulton road. the largest fire was estimated to be a quarter of an acre. all fires were extinguished. (robin) in the wake of san francisco police's warning about safety during pride week.. a man is robbed at knife-point. this happened early sunday morning in the castro area. and now police are searching for multiple suspects responsible for the attack. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to the

victim... and has the story. frightening moments for rido quini..around 1 sunday morning.. he was robbed at knife point by multiple men. rido quini/robbery victimright now i can't believe it really happened to me. you know you hear the stories especially in the neighborhodod that people got robbed but i never thought it would happen to me. right now i don't feel saf quini was walking home down 20th and diamond.. and was almost there when he felt a car drive up behind him. he says.. seconds later he was surrounded by about five men. one of them punched him in the stomach. while the other pushed him down on the ground. and then they robbed him. rido quini/robbery victimwhat i remember, from what i an see, because it was dark because another thing public lighting is not good in the street. so i was down and then i saw someone carrying a knife and then immediately they put their hands in my pockets. they took my wallet, my id my watch, and they were laughing a lot and they just jumped in the car and keep going up diamond street.the attack

comes ahead of pride weekend.. when there will be a huge influx of people from all over the world. sfpd is reminding people to take extra precaution to make sure they are safe. quini says.. it's a good reminder. rido quini/robbery victimpeople have to be alert and be aware. because there are going to be a lot of pople and they can be dangerous, especially at night after you're going from the club or from the party, don't walk on your own, go with a group or take an uber or something (robin) two teens and an adult were stranded on a cliff friday night after hiking in the shelter cove area of pacifica. it took crews 13 hours to finally reach the trio after late night fog prevented rescue attempts. the three hikers were reunited with family and checked by medical personnel.

they were able to go home with no injuries reported. (robin) the us coast guard seized nearly 12,000 pounds of cocaine on a recent patrol in the caribbean and the eastern pacific. the drugs were found on smuggling vessels off the coasts of mexico and central and south america. 24 people were detained during the operation. the cocaine is worth 206-million dollars. it has already been offloaded in florida. assaulted a bart passenger at the embarcadero station in san francisco.. according to transit officials, a woman was hit in the face with a skateboard. kron4's gayle ong has the details. two men reportedly attacked a woman at the embarcadero station according to bart, one of them hit her on the face with a skateboard,the other tried to batter her..the victim suffered minor injuries this all happened in broad daylight saturday afternoon.. frank dong is a street artist, his booth is right off the bart stop..valdene valenti is from the east bay, she feels bad but says the attack won't stop her from riding bart.

o'clock saturday evening. the body of the boater was spotted by a bystander... who called for help. rescuers found the body in the water, near an out-rigger canoe. police don't believe there was anyone else in the canoe when it overturned. (robin) an update to a story we covered last night on kron 4. police in american canyon have released a surveillance picture of a car they are looking for in connection to the car vandalism cases. they are looking for this dark blue dodge charger. police are asking residents on the eat side of american canyon to look through their home surveillance system. specifically in the early morning hours of friday. festival in martinez took a violent turn when animal rights activists began protesting.kron4's sara stinson has the story. reporter intro: ("animal rights activists here in berkeley are recovering after their peaceful protest at a bbq festival turned violent.") nat of videoyou're looking at the chaos that ensued at the "king of the country" bbq challenge and music festival in martinez on saturday. with a metal plate.jessica farb is a long time friend of the victim.. who is still recovering.this is her on june third crossing sanchez street...shortly after you see what may be the suspect walking in her direction. and then the scream.. the 37 year old mom was in the hospital for a week.. and has another month to go before she can return to work.on the night of the attack.. around 6 oclock in the evening.. she had just left farb's house and was walking to hers. jessica farb/victim's friendwe were hanging out the two of us and our two babies were here who are 12 days apart. she was leaving to go home, to put her baby to bed start the whole routine. and then just as i was putting my baby to bed, we got a call from her husband, it was about an hour and a half later, and she was in the hospital ast sf general. the attack happened in this noe valley neighborhood in broad day light.. jessica farb/victim's friend. it as super sunny. it was during a warriors game. and so even the person we are pretty sure was the first to call 911, he said he had been watching the game then he heard screams, and

one simple request, that you not be on the tracks sounds simple enough but apparently it's turning out to be the most difficult thing on the planet well maybe not the planet... but definitely in antioch and pittsburg, now i have shown you video before of people sitting on active train tracks nats: ambiance but have you ever wondered just how long they were kicking it on the tracks let's look at just how long simpson and son landscaping sat on the loveridge tracks for almost 55 full seconds along with the black car next to it nats: ambiance this pickup truck sat on the same tracks just over 45 seconds while having a sip of something from a thermos ambiance but this white pickup sat on the tracks for a full minute a minute may not seem like a long time but if you have a train heading your way that is a long time ambiance over on auto center drive in antioch i watched and so many drivers without a fear in the world were sitting on the

(robin) a 15-year-old boy graduated from u-c davis this weekend. tanishq abraham graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering. it's not his first time graduating from college -- abraham graduated from american river college back in 20-15. at the time, abraham said he eventually wanted to become a doctor, a medical researcher and president of the united states. abraham says his quest for knowledge is what drives him to want to continue learning. the solano county jail. police were originially called about a man exposing himself in a public park. officers found garland in a car with several containers of alcohol. when police searched the car they found a handgun.
