-- matched all six numbers in the mega millions jackpot. this is the 5th largest mega millions jackpot in history. the biggest-ever jackpot -- 656 million dollars-- was won in march 2012. it was shared by winners in illinois, kansas and maryland.

( james ) breaking overnight news out of san francisco. a man died in a shooting and the gunman is still on the loose. it happened just before 11 last night on the 700 block of kirkwood avenue. that's in the hunter's pont neighborhood. police say the man died on the way to the hospital. officers have not released a description of the shooter. ( james ) new this morning... one person is

dead and 2 others are left injured after two separate shootings in the east bay. the first shooting happened last night just before 11 on the 79-hundred block of ney avenue. these are pictures from the scene. police say 2 people were shot. the second shooting happened early this morning around 1-30. that happened on the 11-hundred block of 65th avenue. one person was killed. no word on if any arrest were made in either of those shootings. ( darya ) happening today... the man accused of stabbing and killing 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur bart station will be in court.( james ) kron-4's lydia pantazes is live in studio with the details. lydia. (lydia) john cowell is scheduled to be in an oakland courtroom this morning at 9-a-m. as for charges... he's expected to face one count of murder and assault with a deadly weapon. but he may also face an attempted murder charge for the other attack on nia wilson's sister, lahtifa. john lee cowell was caught while sitting on a bart train on monday.

another passenger recognized him and called police. police say cowell attacked wilson and her sister sunday night. police believe they have the murder weapon... which was found at a nearby construction site. they're now running d-n-a tests. authorities revealed the details of cowell's arrest yesterday. ( lydia ) cowell does cowell does have a criminal history in contra costa county. he's been brought up on charges at least 6 times. those charges included assault and battery. we also spoke with a woman who described herself as cowell's aunt. she did not want to speak with us on camera but she did tell us that cowell suffers from mental illness. the court

( james ) bart police say they are chasing leads right now... as they try to solve a murder that happened at the bay fair station. police are looking for this man. these are newly released pictures. they say he attacked 47-year old don stevens early saturday morning. police say they have reviewed train video -- it show stevens getting punched in the head. stevens then fell on the platform he was taken to the hospital where he later died. police say have received a number of tips... and are hoping to bring the attacker to justice. ( darya ) a big story this morning... family members are speaking out after a mother of 4 is murdered in her own home. kishana harley was killed in her richmond apartment last thursday. so far... no arrests have been made. police found her lying on the floor with

traumatic injuries... after co-workers and friends grew worried when she did not show up to work for two days. harley's 4 children... ages 2 to 18... were not in the home when she was killed. her ex-fiance spoke to kron 4... and tells us he's devestated about what happened. ( darya ) right now right now police are searching for harley's car... a black mercedes r-500 crossover. ( james ) an investigation is underway after a man threatened to blow up san bruno city hall. officers arrested keith gillam. they say he phoned in the threat. while searching gillam's home -- investigators

( james ) happening today... the mother of a teen who died of a fentanyl overdose in petaluma will be in court. 34-year-old danielle faletto is expected to enter a plea. she faces charges of manslaughter and child endangerment. her 16-year-old son died back in april. ( james ) the f-b-i is now searching for a missing university of iowa student... who grew up in oakland. mollie tibbetts disappeared last week. she had been staying at her boyfriend's home... watching his dogs while he was out of town for work. she was last seen last wednesday night. she was reported missing last thursday... when she did not show up for work. ( darya ) tourists are now under evacuation orders at yosemite national park... as the ferguson fire grows. they're emptying campsites and lodges. a 20 mile stretch of a 20 mile a 20 mile stretch of state route 41

( james ) in san francisco... police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured. we first brought this story as breaking news yesterday. the shooting happened nea16th and mission streets. police say they found 34- year-old hubert coleman and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. the two were taken to the hospital... where coleman was pronounced

( james ) two lifeguards go out surfing in san mateo county while off-cuty and one of them is killed. state park officials identified the victim as 20-year-old malcom felix. he was surfing at pomponio state beach and was pulled out of the water by his friend. officials haven't said what exactly killed felix. ( james ) a new report from the state auditors office details how misused time and resources at agencies cost the state thousands of dollars. for four years a d-m-v data operator slept at her desk... without getting appropriate discipline. it also shows a cal fire assistant chief misused resources by building this tiki hut structure on state property without permission. at fresno state... employees were taking extended breaks from work. they would go home and go shopping.. costing the state 111-thousand dollars in lost work. some people say it shows the lack of accountability for state workers.

problems can and should have been dealt with months and years faster than they were">( james ) cal fire did suspend the assistant chief for thirty days.. unpaid. state agencies now have 60 days to respond back about the disciplinary action taken. ( darya ) for the for the second this week... 3 women in fresno walk into a lululemon and steal 17- thousand dollars worth of merchandise. the women hit up a store on sunday... and then hit the same store again yesterday. fresno police say more than a dozen other lululemon locations have been hit recently. more people have died in the massive wildfire burning in greece. the death toll has increased to 79. officials say rescue crews continue to search the areas northeast of athens that were the worst affected by the fire. crews have been going house-to-house and searching burned cars to locate any more victims. ( darya ) the former stanford swimmer convicted of sexual assault is looking to have that conviction overturned. brock turner's

attorney was in court yesterday. he argued that turner never intended to rape anyone... because turner had his clothes on when he was found on top of an intoxicated woman. turner was sentenced to 6-months in jail back in march of 2016. that sentence led to outrage and the judge in the case was recalled. the court now has 90 days to respond to the appeal. ( darya ) a south san francisco man is convicted of molesting an 11-year-old girl. anthony miron approached the girl at a laundromat last summer. he told the girl he wanted to have sex with her... but didn't want to get her pregnant. miron then kissed the little girl's hand and cheek. when the victim's 15-year-old sister found her... the two went home told their parents and called police. miron is a already registered as a sex offender. he faces 37 years in prison. he'll be sentenced in september. ( james ) a billion dollars worth of water is in the pipeline... and headed for the bay area. water

managers have been looking for a way to store more water without building new reservoirs. the solution is to expand a couple of existing reservoirs -- the pacheco reservoir and los vaqueros reservoir. the state water commission is expected to approve construction on 2 large water projects in the bay area. ( james ) both of these projects are still years away and both will have to go through environmental reviews. ( darya ) elbert "big man" howard-- who was one of the six founding members of the black panther party-- has died. his wife says howard died monday in santa rosa after a long illness. howard was responsible for the social programs that made the black panther party famous. he was born in chattanooga,

at planet fitness.. he put their slogan to the test and got himself arrested: planet fitness bills itself as a "judgement free zone".. no where does it say "clothing optional zone." the guy walked in.. took off his clothes and walked stark naked and started working out.. everybody else rushed the desk to complain.. when the cops got there.. they found the guy on the mats in the back doing a yoga pose. you know what they need: no to naked yoga signs. i think we've all learned a lesson here, haven't we? judgement free does not mean clothing

rescues a kitten trying to cross highway 101 in belmont.( james ) the driver noticed the 7-week old kitten running along the concrete divider... then it tried to dar across the highway. the driver stopped... blocked traffic... and rescued the kitten after it jumped into the wheel of his truck. he took it to the s-p-c-a where they named it leo in honor of the man who rescued it. ( james ) coming up in the next hour... we have a winner. someone in the south bay is now 522-millions dollars richer... after hitting the mega millions jackpot. ( darya ) the former stanford swimmer convicted of sexual assault is looking to have that conviction overturned. brock turner's attorney was in court yesterday. he argued that turner never intended to rape anyone... because turner had his clothes on when he was found on top of an intoxicated woman. turner was sentenced to 6-months in jail back in march of 2016. that sentence led to outrage and the judge in the case was recalled. the court now has 90 days to respond to the appeal. ( darya ) a south san francisco man is convicted of molesting an 11-year-old girl. anthony miron approached the girl at a laundromat last summer. he told the girl he wanted to have sex with her... but didn't want to get her pregnant. miron then kissed the little girl's hand and cheek. when the victim's 15-year-old sister found her... the two went home told their parents and called police. miron is a already registered as a sex offender. he faces 37 years in
