we have one to two fires a day and when you respond together and you put your lives on the line, you do have to surround yourself with experts. and for us the expert in gas and electric is pg&e. we run about 2,500/2,800 fire calls a year and on almost every one of those calls pg&e is responding to that call as well. and so when we show up to a fire and pg&e shows up with us it makes a tremendous team during a moment of crisis. i rely on them, the firefighters in this department rely on them, and so we have to practice safety everyday. utilizing pg&e's talent and expertise in that area trains our firefighters on the gas or electric aspect of a fire and when we have an emergency situation we are going to be much more skilled and prepared to mitigate that emergency for all concerned. the things we do every single day that puts ourselves in harm's way, and to have a partner that is so skilled

giants win but at a high price. they beat the milwaukee brewers 8 to 5. pablo sandoval tripled and then pulled his hammy. he will have an m-r-i later this morning to see how bad he injured it. i've got an inside baseball story you might like: yankees great derek jeter apparently wasn't a great sport.. his former teammate phil hughes spilled the beans on jeter's betting habits.. he says jeter would make small wagers.. say like 100 bucks on a college fooball game... and if he lost he would pay you in "pennies!".. you have any idea what 100 dollars worth of pennies in a bag looks like? omg that is soo petty.. i'm sorry if you're a jeter fan.. but that

is so jerky. you know what else i hate.. when you win a bet and you have to ask for the money.. same with a loan.. i always tell my kids.. if you owe someone money.. don't be that person that has to be reminded or that you have to badger to get your money back.. borrowing a dollar for lunch is the start of gettg a good credit rating. on the flip side of the petty coin.. you've got lebron james.. who is making every penny of his fortune count: he just opened opened a school for at risk kids in his home town of akron ohio.. and this place is off the charts.. it's got all the bells and whistles.. today is the first day. lebron says it's his proudest accomplishmen t to date.lebron is also helping more than one thousand young men and women do something he never did.. go to college. oh and if that's not inspiring

enough for you.. he's producing a new show for netflix with octavia spencer.. who stars as hair-care mogul c.j. walker.. who at the turn of the 20th century became the first black woman in america to be a self-made millionaire. it's not out yet but that''s one to watch for.. and maybe kim, kylie and the other kardashian kids will watch it and see what "self made" really means. i'm not knocking you if you've got friends and family and money to help you succeed.. lucky you, that's great.. but let's not confuse priviledge with pulling yourself up by your own boot straps. in my continuing quest to let mkid do things that might kill him.. thor went flyboarding this weekend.. which i didn't

even know was a real thing til we went to san dieogo and saw it at the beach sports rental place.. this is a thing where basically you wear two fire hoses on your feet and they shoot you up 20 feet in to the air... you have to balance.. do spins.. get the hang of it and dive like a dolphin and fly back up.. he was all heeled from the snowboarding accident in the winter.. and god knows jetskiing isn't dangerous enough and we did the hang gliding off that cliff in la jolla last year.
