( james ) breaking news. a new plan fix the sinking millennium tower building in san francisco is in the works. the homeowners association is confident this new plan will stop the sinking and reverse the tilting by installing new foundation piles that would tie the tower to bedrock. the original developer of millennium tower -- mission street development, will do the repairs. the plan is to install 52 concrete piles that would transfer a portion of the building's weight from its current foundation system to bedrock about 250 feet below. officials say that shift would relieve stress on soils that have compressed below the building, causing it to settle and tilt. once approved, the

the victim yet.people who live in the area were told to shelter in place for nearly two hours while police searched the area and investigated the scene. witnesses told officers they saw a man running from the scene after the shooting.but again - police have still not confirmed if they have the work an update on this homicide investigation... ( darya ) another big story this morning... friends are remembering the life of ray taliaferro after his body was found sunday afternoon. friends say taliaferro was a music lover who encouraged young people to embrace art. he worked here at kron 4 before heading to kgo newstalk... where he worked for years. taliaferro took civil rights

to heart as well as serving at one point as president of the n-double-a-c-p san francisco chapter. he was honored by the national association of black journalists for his life work in 20-11. his long- time friend and current president of the n-double-a- c-p doctor amos brown calls taliaferro a selfless pioneer. < he was very much reflective strategic and courageous thise are noble virtues>( darya ) taliaferro was reported missing by his wife on november 10th in kentucky. his son shared a statement saying the family is in the process of working with police to learn the matters surrounding taliaferro's death. ( james ) a travis air force base psychologist has been convicted of sexually assaulting three of his patients. a solano county jury found heath jacob sommer guilty of seven sexual assault charges on friday. the jury found that sommer would gain the trust of his victims. one of whom was

ááalreadyáá a sexual assault victim... and would engage in sexual acts with them during treatment sessions. during the six-week trail, each victim testified. some of the charges include battery and rape. sommer's sentencing is scheduled for january 25. ( darya ) san francisco police are investigating a string of fires that happened in moscone park. three fires were set sunday night in garbage cans and one spread to a nearby structure. that structure was a shed used by the parks department. officials are calling the fires suspicious.. as of right now they aren't sure if someone maliciously set the fires or if it was an accident from someone trying to stay warm. ( darya ) still ahead ... google is looking to get the green light on a new development in san jose... how many jobs it could bring to the area ( darya ) and more than a dozen car break-ins in one bay area neighborhood. we'll have the details coming up.

bay... police in los gatos are investigating more than a dozen car break-in's and other thefts. in every case the thieves targeted unlocked vehicles.. all in one night. police say most of the thefts happened in neighborhoods all within a mile of each other including truman avenue... elmhurst drive and oakhurst drive. thieves were also able to get into garages if the homeowners left a door opener inside the car. polcie say you should always lock your car... remove important personal belongings... and consider getting an alarm system if you don't have one.

( james ) a big story this morning.. san jose city council will vote whether to sell land to google near dirdon station. ( darya ) but some residents aren't happy with the possible sale. kron 4's will tran has the details. the city council the city council will vote on part of the plan starting at 130 this afternoonif approved google will get 10 acres of prime downtown land to build on which they will say will ultimately bring to san jose about 10 million dollars a year and 25 thousand jobsbut homeless advocates are protesting .. with a hunger strike saying the city is selling out the homeless ... giving land to google instead of building homeless shelters or affordable housingthey point out that the bay area is one of the most expensive places to live in the world for many reasons including tech companies like google that drive up pricesgoogle says they will work with the city to provide affordable housing to people in san jose

( james ) a peninsula school district has announced the closure of 4 elementary schools to help deal with a $10 million dollar deficit. hawes, orion, fair oaks, and adelante elementary schools in redwood are closing next year. the kids will be merged into other schools. the

school district says because of declining enrollment.... they can not sustain 16 schools with 7,500 students. the move has some parents upset.

( darya ) some students are headed back to school after the deadly wildfires. schools in butte county have been closed since november 8tht 32-thousand students were scheduled to return to class. several schools were damaged or destroyed, so some students were sent tlocations. officials hope to have a long-term solution ready by next month. ( darya ) coming up on the kron 4 morning buzz... while steph was beating the hawks single-handedly last night.. there was a bigger star on the sidelines, coach kerr will tell us who that is.. the heisman finalists are all quarterbacks and one of them is headed for oakland, but not to replace derek carr.. he's going to play for the a's.

are a staple for young kids during the holiday season. but one town in colorado banned snowball local 9-year-old decided to get involved and change things.
