( darya ) a big story this morning... san francisco police have made an arrest after a teenager was killed in a knife attack. 16-year-old josue (ho-sway) david mejia sanchez died last weekend after he was stabbed in the neck in the ingleside district. last night his school remembered the student- athlete. sanchez immigrated to the united states from honduras with his family just three years ago. school prinicpal tara hobson say the school has been pulling together and supporting each other through the difficult time.

lot for his family and really hope that they're doing okay.> ( darya ) police say they found sanchez and another man... 38-year-old sergio rohca at the corner of mission and geneva avenue. rohca has since been arrested and is now facing a murder charge. ( james ) in san ramon -- students are remembering a teenager killed in a shooting tuesday night in fremont. the student's name hasn't been released publicly... but classmates are mourning his death and say he'll be remembered for his music and his warm personality. the california high school principal sent an e-mail to students and staff saying in part "losing a student is extremely difficult for everyone affected... our hearts are with the student's family and friends." ( james ) police in south san francisco are looking for the driver who fled the scene of a hit and run that injured a young girl. the crash happened just before 8 yesterday monring at the intersection of grand and

eucalptus avenue. an 11-year-old girl was walking across the street when she was struck. she was taken to the hosptial with non-life threathening injuries. police think the driver may have initailly stopped and then left shortly after. ( james ) new this morning... the family of a man who was fatally shot by police at a san francisco barber shop... has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city. the shooting happened on march 21st in the city's excelsior district. police say that jehad eid fired the first shot before police returned fire. the lawsuit claims that police used excessive force. the attorney for the family says that police could have used other tactics to de-escalate the situation before opening fire. police say the shooting started when family members called police saying that eid had a gun and was threatening them. ( darya ) on the peninsula... police in palo alto are looking for a man who exposed himself to a woman riding her bicycle. it happened last friday in the

12-hundred block of sand hill road. the woman was riding north on pasteur and when she approached a traffic light at sand hill road. that's when she saw the man. he has been described as a he has been described as a white man in his thirties driving a nissan. ( darya ) in san mateo police are looking for help identifying people who shot at a car. the shooting was reported yesterday afternoon around two.... near six avenue and san bruno avenue east. officials say two cars left the highway and a passenger got out of one car and shot at the second car. there were no reports of injuries. ( james ) a big story this morning... the east bay regional park district is warning the public to avoid wild mushrooms that can be fatal. morning.. the suspected golden state killer was back in court as the trial moves forward. 73-year-old joseph deangelo faces 26 charges including murder.. kidnapping and rape for crimes committed in the 70's and 80's. yesterday the judge made two rulings... first he denied deangelo's request to exclude media coverage. the also determined that deangelo cannot afford his own lawyer so the public defender will continue as he attorney. the court appearance comes just a day after sacramento county officials revealed the trial could cost taxpayers about 20-million dollars... and last another ten years. deangelo is due back in court in april. overnight... a former san francisco giants infielder was one of two former majore league baseball players killed in a car crash in venezuela. luis valbuena and jose castillo after playing a game for the country's winter league. major league baseball tweeted out this image to honor the two men. valbuena played as recently as last season for the los angeles angels. castillo played for three teams over parts of 5 seasons including the san francisco giants... who he played for in 2008. officer almost 10 years ago on new year's day. kron 4's gabe slate talked to the grant family and to bart about whether or not this renaming is possible. oscar grant's family wants bart to rename the bart fruitvale station with oscar's name in the title to honor the 22-year old who died at the hands of bart police on the platform of the bart fruitvale station new year's day, 2009. sound from oscar grant's uncle bobby - " today was the official day, i actually handed in the application" oscar grant's uncle bobby showed me the paperwork he turned into the bart board of directors requesting that the fruitvale station be renamed after oscar. sound from oscar grant's uncle bobby - " we feel bart can do something to honor oscar grant can change the name to fruitvale grant " bart provided this statement about the renaming request

voted unanimously to approve a new four-year contract with the transit district's police officers... giving them a 16 percent pay raise over the next four years. bart says that nationwide - salaries for police officers are rising -- and the new labor package is needed to bring officers closer to average salaries in the bay area. the deal includes a one-time 6 percent salary hike... also annual raises ranging from 2.5 percent to 2.75 percent over thefour years.. bart says the agreement will allow for outside contractors to help with background checks for new hires. ( darya ) california is now the first state to require homes be solar powered by 20- 20. the building standards commission voted unanimously to add the energy standard to the state's building code this week. some people say the mandate will make building homes more expensive. energy officials say the mandate will add 10 thousand dollars to the cost of building a single-family home..

but also note that the cost will be offset, at least somewhat, by lower utility bills. the state's commission hopes this new code will be a model for the nation. ( darya ) for your health... the ongoing e-coli outbreak from romaine lettuce has been linked to 9 more illnesses in the past 12 days. that's according to the c-d-c. the contamination has been traced back to six counties in central and northern california. but investigators are still working to identify the exact source of the outbreak. e-coli has affected consumers in 15-states coast-to-coast. ( james )for your money this morning... 155-thousand jobs were created in the u-s last month. that's according to the latest jobs report. the report was weaker than expected but still a sign of a strong labor market. the primary sectors adding jobs were business, health care and manufacturing. the unemployment rate stayed at three-point-seven percent. paychecks grew by three- point-one percent over the last year, in line with expectations. october's

... an alarming number of animals are being abused and shot. this according

to a wildlife hospital in walnut creek. so far this year, the hospital has cared for 30 animals either hit by a pellet or a bullet. that's nearly double the amount of wildlife treated for similar injuries last year. that is well above the hospital average of 10 per year. although most of the injured animals are birds ... the hospital alerts both the state and federal fish and wildlife agencies whenever an animal is treated for gunshot wounds. ( james ) shooting birds or animals outside of a hunting season is a felony. people who are caught can get six months in jail and up to a one-thousand dollar fine. ( james ) a second victim has come forward -- saying she had a rock thrown at her windshield while driving on 6-80. this comes after video surfaced wednesday of someone throwing a rock at a car on the same freeway. theresa vu says that last weekend she was exiting off 6-80 at the berryessa road exit... when she saw someone in the bushes throw a large rock at her car. the rock smashed the windshield and landed inside the car. unfortunatly, she says it was to dark identify who threw the

( james )this is now the second known case of rocks being thrown at cars in this same spot. another woman says that some along the side of 6-80 threw two rocks at her s-u-v. that attack was captured on dashcam video. thankfully, no one has been seriously injured in these attacks. so far no suspects have been identified. ( darya ) in the east bay... oakland police arrested several people connected to burglaries and robberies... at bay area pot dispensaries and grow locations. the happened yesterday and resulted in the recovery of firearms, assault rifles and large amounts of marijuana. police are looking for additional people who may be involved. this case is still under investigation. ( darya ) san jose is planning to work with electric

scooter companies to address reports of injuries and traffic caused by the scooters. mayor sam liccardo and council members signed a memorandum to curb scooter speeds in high traffic area. liccardo says the proposal is an effort to make scooters safer while allowing recommendations include . different ideas for parking... and the city will work with companies to develop parameters for pedestrain- dense areas. ( james ) milpitas police have arrested a pacakge thief after a neighbor called police about the suspicious behavior. 31-year-old romano marcario was arrested after police found a stolen package under his jacket. police say a neighbor called about a man acting suspicious on south park victoria drive. the caller said macario was struggling to hide the package under his jacket. macario was booked inot the santa

clara county jail for possession of stolen property. ( james ) in south bay... police say four men were using the legalization of marijuana in california... to make huge profits in other parts of the country. san jose residents anthony le, barry phan, jose garcia and alejandro garcia... are facing charges of packaging and shipping marijuana and other drugs across the county by commerical freight lines. evidence seized includes 800 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, hash oil, illegal steroids, $600-thousand dollars in cash, three handguns and... a military grade rocket launcher. the two-year investigation is not over yet... as police think there are more suspects involved. story this morning... comedian kevin hart is stepping down as oscars host. he made the announcement last night just two days after he was chosen for the role. this comes as some of his old anti-gay tweets resurfaced. hart posted a video on his instagram addressing the tweets and his role at the oscars.

actor spread some holiday cheer to some lucky families in atlanta georgia.( james ) and he did it in the form of paying off everyones gifts... being held on lay-away at walmart. the kind guesture was done by none other than tyler perry. perry paid off 434-thousand dollars worth of layaway items at two
