i'm james fletcher. lets start the morning with a check of weather and traffic... a very rainy start to the morning with showers becoming less widespread later in the day. expect daytime highs in the upper 50's under primarily cloudy skies well through the day. tomorrow showers will lighten even further with some sunshine returning and even dryer conditions to look forward to friday into saturday.

( darya ) because of the wet weather cal-trans has delayed construction work on the richmond-san rafael bridge. the repairs were supposed to begin this week... in an effort to prevent more concrete from falling onto the lower deck in the future. crews saying they have to replace the 31 sliding joints on the upper deck of the bridge. repairs are expected to begin once the wet weather ends. ( darya ) the rainy is weather is taking its toll on
the santa cruz mountains. a sinkhole on highway- 35 quickly evolved into a landslide that took out a hundred foot section of one northbound lane. officials say... the rain and runoff have undermined the pavement ... and part of the hillside above and below the slide. one lane is expected to reopen in a couple of weeks. ( james ) new this morning... a woman is recovering after being shot several times in the leg and the shooter is still on the loose. this happened in vallejo near the intersection of walnut avenue and 'g' street on mare island. the woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition. police do not have any information on a possible shooting. ( james ) there has been a
confirmed case of measles in san francisco. officials say, the person is an adult who was exposed to measles during an international flight. this is the first case in the city since 20-13. in the u-s so far this year, there have been at least 206 -confirmed cases of measles. symptoms of measles include a fever...and a rash that will start on the forehead and behind the ears. it can last up to a week. ( darya ) in the east bay. police in livermore are still searching for answers after a man's body was found on a popular hiking trail. it happened monday morning on a walking path next to the arroyo creek. a person using the path discovered the body... flagged down a police patrol car and took the officers about 150-yards to the location of the body. investigators say the deceased man is a livermore resident. they are not releasing his identity until next of kin has bedeath is classified as suspicious because there are no obvious signs of blunt force trauma or foul play. ( darya ) scary moments at an east bay high school police say a student
was stabbed on campus by another student. it happened around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at livermore high school. this is a picture of police at the scene.police say two male students were involved. one of them was arrested, the other was taken to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries. police say it was an isolated incident, and the no other students were in danger. ( james ) police in pacifica say the two people found dead inside a home sunday afternoon are believed to have died in a murder suicide. the pair has been identified as ana marie alba and johny tu. police responded to the home around 12:30 on banyon way and found alba and tu dead. people have not said who was the alleged murder victim. ( james ) happening today...the man who was caught on video attacking a conservative activist at u-c berkeley will be arraigned in oakland. the alameda county district attorney has filed three - felony charges.... against zachary greenberg. he is charged
with assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury, and criminal threats ... all for his attack on hayden williams. greenberg was arrested on friday.. ( darya ) city leaders in piedmont are planning to install more security cameras around the city. its part of an effort to expand the city's surveillance camera network. right now -- there are three cameras at the intersection of oakland and grand. police say, the pilot program has worked well for keeping the city safe .... and catching criminals. the expansion would install cameras at five additional public locations. ( james ) ( james ) a big story this morning.protests erupted again after california's attorney genel fatally shot stephon clark. the city council meeting in sacramento saw a lot of frustration,
tears and anger. john lorinc has more. a second probe into the officer-involved shooting of stephon clark.....and the same end result.xavier becerra/california attorney general"our investigation has concluded that no criminal charges against the officers involved in the shooting can be sustained."the decision produced immediate backlash. mos/protester"this is america, as childish gambino said. this is america, this is sacramento and this isn't as good as we can get."clark was shot at least 7 times by two officers last year in his grandmother's backyard ......the 22-year-unarmed. mos/protester"anybody, i don't care where you're policing at, shoot a man in the back running from you, you should be fired. no retirement, nothing, like that."the report from the state department of justice makes critical points: including police helicopter audio describing clark breaking into cars and video showing him advancing toward officers.the police also said

figures. atthis la transplant is housesitting an aparment on nob hill.....where in the same building, a 1 bedroom unit is renting for what apparently is the new normal....according to zumper, an online real estate marketplace, this march the average rent of a 1 bedroom in san francisco is just shy of $3700 hundred dollars a month. that's an increase of nearly 9 percent since last year at this time.and it's bucking the national trend of rent prices which are falling. so it's really frustrating i don't know what's gonna happen unfortunetly for those looking for a new aparment, the cheif business officer for zumper thinks san francisco's upward trend will continue.this is the beginning of the early rental season for us we normally see rents start up

( darya ) a big story this morning....teachers in the san ramon valley unified school district could decide today if they are going on strike.( james ) negotiations between the district and teachers are expected to continue in just a few hours.. kron 4's sara stinson is joining us live now with more. a strike is pending as negotiations are ongoing today between the san ramon valley unified school district and teachers.take a look at this
video of teachers on the picket line last week sending a message to the district they are ready to begin an actual strike if a deal does not get reached soon.in fact 98 percent of nearly 17-hundred teachers in the san ramon valley education association voted to authorize a strike if they are unable to agree on contract terms with the district.yesterday meetings were held behind closed doors between the union and the district.teachers say they want a pay raise, smaller class sizes and more school nurses.teachers are ready to stand up for what they want as they say it'll provide a better education for students. the district says they believe strongly that both the district and the union want the best for students and will be able to agree on a solution. listen now to both sides.

( darya ) today... some health services may not be available again in san mateo county. that's because human services workers there ... are on a two- day strike. hundreds of workers walked off the job holding signs that called for better treatment. the workers are with the american federation of state, county and municipal employees. the union members did ánot approve a three- year contract negotiated to be considered standards, worker to supervisors ratios and voluntary time off. it is unclear when the union and county will negotiate again. ( darya ) the berkeley city council is reaching out
to residents as it decides what should happen to the old pacific steel casting building. when it closed last year, hundreds of longtime employees not only lost their jobs..but also back wages and benefits. right now the company is trying to manage it's way through bankruptcy proceedings. the board of trustees that now owns the land has reached out to the city saying it wants to find a buyer quickly. the mayor of berkeley believes redeveloping the property would reduce crime in the area and revitalize that part of town. the mayor says the city will continue to reach out the public for ideas on the future of the site. the city council hopes to provide direction to the planning commission on a plan in may. ( james ) there has been lot of discussion on where the raiders will play next season. reports say the las vegas- bound team could end up playing the 2019 season in oakland. oakland mayor libby shaaf talked to kron4 about the immediate future of the raiders in oakland. here's what she had to say.

giants. newly-signed outfielder cameron maybin has been arrested for driving under the influence while at spring training. scottsdale police booked the 31-year-old on two offenses early friday morning last week. but news of the incident only surfaced yesterday. reports say he was stopped after being seen speeding and weaving through traffic. and a sobriety test revealed a blood alcohol over the legal limit. he's been in the league for 12-years... and just signed a minor league deal with the club last month.
the giants released a brief statement saying they are aware of and monitoring the situation. and there will be no further comment. ( darya ) now to the warriors. they suffered a 33 point loss to the boston celtics. it's the worst home loss in the steve kerr era. no klay thompson in the lineup because of knee soreness. and from the beginning, turnovers plagued the warriors. boston led by 25 at half-time.curry was the only player picking up the slack. he led the team with 25 points for the night. but there was no effort from the other players. warriors turned the ball over 22-times. the celtics blow out the warriors 128-95. steve kerr called it embarassing.
