(dave)shower activity will continue across mainly the southern portion of the region this morning, tapering off during the day. a weak front is expected to move into the north bay saturday sending another round of light rain across the region with lingering showers possible

into sunday. dry high pressure returns monday with another chance of light rain by tuesday as another fast moving system passes through. longer range trends then suggest potential for drier weather through the end of next week.

( james ) terrifying moments in oakland... after a gunman steals a number of laptops from customers sitting inside an east bay coffee shop... and police say the robber is still on the loose. kron-4's justine waldman has sot it was scary as hell, yes and my poor customers were scared to death toothe owner of world ground in the laurel district ... recalls the moment a masked gunman came into his coffee shop , held people at gunpoint, and demanded the laptops from every customer inside the crowded cafe. he says the gunman had another customer go around and collect the laptops inside a canvas bag.it was one in the afternoon, yuffe fixing pasteries for the next morning when this went down.

sot i saw a man with a gun with a drawn gun so i quickly ran out the backdoor and called 911oakland police tell kron 4 news, the gunman had a bandana over his mouth and was wearing a bright orange security vest and a beanie. he ran away on foot ... with about a half-dozen laptopssot all he wanted was laptops he didnt want cell phones and did not go near thregister laptop thefts from people sitting in cafes is common. now, police are looking a security video from nearby businesses to find this suspect.

( james ) in the south bay... san jose police have arrested a man seen peering into several homes, while naked. and they say this isn't the first time he's been caught. a warning some people may find this video disturbing. we have blurred much of this video... but police say on february 15 and march 5th... 60 year old mark veregge was caught on surveillance video knocking on front doors and peeping into windows. it happened along meadowlands lane... and in a third incident... police say, veregge was wearing a dress as he approached a home. back in 2017 he was arrested on similar charges while he was a lecturer at stanford.

( james ) a south bay community is still in shock. after a mother and her two- young sons are found dead.. from what investigators believe was a murder- suicide. and now, we're learning more about the victims. neighbors tell us, they are trying to come to terms with what happened at this dent avenue apartment in san jose. one of them provided this picture of the two boys... whom she identified as eric and kevin.. ages four and seven. ( james ) the two boys attended lietz elementary school. the district says, students there are being informed... and that grief counselors are on hand. ( james suicide is a major public health concern... and according to the national institute of mental health, more than 40-thousand people die in suicides each year in the united states. suicide

is complicated and tragic... but experts say it is often preventable. yesterday we spoke with mego lien... a sucide prevention manager in santa clara about the warning signs. be available for dozens of homeless and low income people... after the city of san francisco held a grand opening for a new apartment complex . the building has 38 one bedroom apartments, 38 two bedroom apartments and 7 three bedroom apartments. set to move in: 40 formerly homeless families and 43 low income families. at the ceremony, mayor london breed said that the city will build hundreds more affordbale housing units. ( james ) in addition to housing there are also social services available in the building. ( james ) pg&e is again causing controversy. this time because it wants to give its employees bonuses. kron-4's dan kerman explains. ific gas and electric has asked a federal bankruptcy judge to

( james ) in san francisco -- police are looking for two women accused of assaulting and robbing a bus driver yesterday in the twin peaks neighborhood. police say... the incident happened near the corner of burnett avenue and parkridge drive. a spokesman for the muni said, the bus driver confronted the women for not paying the bus fare. that's when an argument started .. which escalated when the attackers started hitting the bus driver a number of times. then, they took the driver's backpack and fled. the two women are said to be 18- years old. the driver did not need to be hospitalized.

( james ) now to the east bay ... where a 16-year-old boy with special needs has gone missing in antioch. here are pictures of the boy. his name is kevin. he was last seen around 3 pm yesterday inside the lowe's store on lone tree way. kevin has a small hump in his back and walks slightly slumped over. he was last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatpants and tan work boots. police say kevin likes to visit stores in the slatten ranch road area. ( james ) in the south bay... an increasing number of sightings of coyotes and mountain lions are being reported. officials want people to be aware of the wild animals. kron 4's gayle ong has the details. coyotes are on the move..you see one..two..coyotes running free..they were spotted wednesday morning...the suburba saratoga hills..stalking deer.. you see the pair racing over people's driveways and mailboxes.but the deer

definitely concerning."> another concern..mountain lions..wildlife officials caught this 60 pound female mountain lion after someone reported it crossing the area of parker ranch road..in saratoga..santa clara county sheriff's office is urging residents in cupertino and saratoga to be aware of these animals..as it's just the start of coyote season.. ( james )( james ) happening today. president trump will visit alabama to get a first-hand look at the damage done by deadly tornadoes. the national weather service says 12 tornadoes struck alabama on 23 people were killed by the deadly twisters. as residents and officials work on recovery efforts, parts of the state are preparing for more severe weather expected to hit the state this weekend.

( james ) in other national headlines. president trump's former campaign chair paul manafort has been sentenced to 47 months in prison. manafort received a much shorter sentence than prosecutors had argued for. this sentencing is for convictions brought on by special counsel robert mueller's russia investigation. manafort had been convicted of eight counts, including five counts of tax fraud... failure to report foreign defrauding two banks. manafort will receive a second sentencing next week .. in a separate case over witness tampering and conspiracy charged he pleaded gulity to last year. ( james ) warriors star steph curry has revealed a special curry 6 shoe in honor of international womens day. it was designed by 9- year-old riley morrison from napa. she's the girl who wrote a letter to curry ... expressing frustation that curry's shoes were not offered promise to deliver a shoe inspired by riley. here is video from the under armour
