time he has been caught. kron4's sara stinson is live in the san jose with more.sara? in the south bay... san jose police have arrested a man seen peeping into several homes, while naked. a warning some people may find this video disturbing. we have blurred much of this video... but police say on february 15 and march 5th... 60 year old mark veregge was caught on surveillance video knocking on front doors and peeping into windows. it happened along meadowlands lane... and in a third incident... police say, veregge was wearing a dress as he approached a home. this isn't the first time he has been arrested for prowling... back in 2017 he was arrested on similar charges while he

was a lecturer at stanford. ( james ) happening today... a judge could decide if the man accused of killing a woman at an east bay bart station is fit to stand trial. a judge will hear a psychiatrist's report on the

mental competency of john lee cowell. he is accused of killing 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur bart station last july. the trial was suspended in december until it could be determined if cowell was mentally fit. ( james ) happening today... crews will break ground on new express lanes on highway 101. the 32 miles of express lane will run through san mateo and santa clara counties. the hope is that the lanes will reduce traffic and drive times between interstate 380 in san bruno and highway 237 in sunnyvale. ( darya ) happening now. police need help searching for 16-year-old boy with special needs ... who went missing in antioch. here are pictures of the boy. his name is kevin. he was last seen around 3 pm yesterday inside the lowe's store on lone tree way. kevin has a small hump in his back and walks slightly slumped over. he was last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatpants and tan work boots. police say kevin likes to visit stores in the slatten ranch road area.

( darya ) for your health this morning. local doctors don't expect the measles to spread here in the bay area ... like it has in other states around the country. they credit tougher laws and policies for keeping the disease at bay. s-b 2-77... which aims to keep fewer non vaccinated kids from entering the school system stripped away the personal belief exception. so now only kids with a medical reason can skip getting their shots before entering public and private schools... and even day care centers. contra costa county has seen an increase in the number of kids with vaccines entering kindergarten since the law went into affect in 2016. ( darya ) the state department of health says 95%

of california kindergartners have gotten their required shots since the law went into effect. that's the highest reported level on record. california is only one of three states in the u-s allowing only medical exemptions to vaccines. (james) the outbreak of measles cases has caught the attention of u-s surgeon general jerome adams. he traveled to washington state ... where the first cases were confirmed ... to give his thoughts on the outbreak of measles. long as they haven't already started to do so.( james ) the funding is through the city of santa rosa's cal-home disaster assistance program. to be eligible --- you can't have already started to rebuild or repair your home. and you must have lived in the area before the fires and intend to be the owner after repairs are done. applications to the gap funding are available online --- and at a community meeting march 11th at the finley center in santa rosa. the meeting is scheduled to begin 6 p-m next monday. ( james ) pg&e is again causing controversy. this time because it wants to give its employees bonuses. in a recent filing ... pg&e has asked a federal bankruptcy judge to allow them to give out 235 million dollars in bonuses to thousands of employees, among them vice presidents and managers. the request comes after the utility filed for bankruptcy. pg&e could be on the hook for billions of dollars for its role in california wildfires.

( darya ) in the south bay... coyote season has started... and an increasing number of sightings are being reported. santa clara county sheriff's office is warning residents to be aware of mountain lions and coyotes. two coyotes were seen wednesday morning in the saratoga hills. city officials say coyotes are not uncommon in saratoga..and if you come across a coyote, the city encourages residents to

( darya ) another concern... mountain lions. wildlife officials caught a 60 pound female mountain lion after someone reported it crossing the area of parker ranch road..in saratoga. it has been sedated, tagged and released to a nature reserve in santa clara county. wildlife officials say if you come across a mountain line to yell, make noise and fight back if it attacks you. ( darya ) new this morning... police in santa rosa are looking for this woman after they say she burglarized the home of an 89-year-old woman. the woman stole credit cards and then used them in the old

following this morning... the mother of a southern california elementary school student is outraged after she says her son wasn't allowed to use the bathroom. instead she says he was forced to relieve himself in front of the entire class. kara finnstrom has the story. sonia mongol/mother:"my child did not deserve this. no child deserves to be treated this

way. we are outraged"sonia mongol says her eight year old son asked his teacher at manhattan place elementary to use the restroom and was told he could not during class.she says he couldn't wait any longer - so the teacher gave him a different option.sonia mongol/mother:"made him urinate in a trash can located at the front of a classroom exposing himself in front of all of the other students, urinating on himself in the process. he went to the nurses office. he received no help." mongol says her son was then given trash bags to cover his clothes and without his parents being alerted, remained at school wearing them.these pictures were taken after he came home.mongol says he's now being bullied by other students and that teachers have since denied him use of the restroom again.a former la teacher and other supporters joined her today as they knocked on the school office door, saying they wanted to request changes in school policy.it was not opened.latricia mitchell/retired lausd teacher:

12 thai boys and their soccer coach who were rescued from a flooded cave after being trapped for more than 2 weeks could soon sign a deal with netflix. netflix says it is partnering with the production company behind the movie... "crazy rich asians" the production company is negotiating with netflix of behalf of the boys and their coach. a contract has not yet been signed but both sides have agreed to the terms. the boys captivated the world's attention last summer when they became trapped deep inside in a submerged cave. an international rescue effort was launched to reach the boys, aged between 11 and 16, who were trapped in the

police are trying to figure out a motive behind the murder- suicide that claimed the life of a mother and her two young sons. here are pictures of the two boys who were killed by their mom. they are eric and kevin ... ages four and seven. neighbors are still in shock. they are trying to come to terms with what happened at the dent avenue apartment in san jose. ( james ) the two boys attended lietz elementary school. the district says, students there are being informed ... and that grief counselors are on hand. ( darya ) happening now in the east bay... oakland police are looking for the masked gunman who stole laptops from several customers at a coffee shop.( james ) kron 4's justine waldman has the details.

sot it was scary as hell, yes and my poor customers were scared to death toothe owner of world ground in the laurel district ... recalls the moment a masked gunman came into his coffee shop , held people at gunpoint, and demanded the laptops from every customer inside the crowded cafe. he says the gunman had another customer go around and collect the laptops inside a canvas bag.it was one in the afternoon, yuffe gustafsson was in the back fixing pasteries for the next morning when this went down. sot i saw a man with a gun with a drawn gun so i quickly ran out the backdoor and called 911oakland police tell kron 4 news, the gunman had a bandana over his mouth and was wearing a bright orange security vest and a beanie. he ran away on foot ... with about a half-dozen laptopssot all he wanted was laptops he didnt want cell phones and did not go near the register laptop thefts from people sitting in cafes is common. now, police are looking a security video from nearby businesses to find this suspect.sot in the past we have had cases but in this one it is different because the ind was armedeven though it closed early after the crime, ,the coffee shop will be open on friday.because after 20 years serving this

mission neighborhood. it happened at a home in the 200- block of foote avenue. police say a 69-year-old woman.. discovered a man in the process of stealing jewelry. they say, she confronted him - but he told her to stay in the bedroom and then he ran away with her items. ( darya ) in the south bay... residents in one neighborhood -- say they're fed up and looking for solutions ... as more and more homeless move onto their sidewalks. right now -- there are dozens of shopping carts lining a san jose street -- and residents say nothing is being done about it. one resident says he has lived here for 10 years and says he's sympathetic because of the high cost of living in san jose. but as more and more homeless continue to move in ... its made it difficult to feel safe. ( darya ) the city of san jose is aware of the issue and say addressing homelessness is one

( james ) stephon clark's family helped lead a rally at the state capitol in support of a proposed law that could change when police use deadly force. clark's grandmother and brother were front and center at the rally, urging lawmakers to pass legislation that would restrict when officers can use deadly force. the bill, a-b 392's, main author- assemblymember shirley weber- says police know how to use restraint.. she pointed to the arrest of the man accused of the parkland high school mass shooting last year. ( james ) new charges have been filed against the man accused of being the nor-cal rapist. prosecutors in sacramento county say... roy charles waller is linked to six attacks against two women in davis back in 1997. that brings the total number of victims to nine ... in six counties. waller pleaded not guilty and was arrested based on d-n-a evidence found last september at u-c berkeley ... where he worked as a safety specialist. authorities say... waller broke into homes late at night ... between 1991 and 2006 ... often assaulting his victims repeatedly. salem. the fifth grader says he decided not to participate in the pledge of allegiance and the teacher wasn;t happy about it. ( james ) the boy's mom says she is a u-s citizen and was born in the u-s. that substitute teacher won't be allowed to teach at any schools in that district from now on.
