( darya ) a big story this morning. two brothers from northern california were among the people killed in a plane crash in ethiopia. mel and bennett riffel were from redding. mourners at their old elementary school have started placing flowers at the base of a bell tower in the brothers' memory. they were on an adventure before mel's daughter is born in may. the pastor of saint joseph church and school visited with the parents on monday.

( darya ) new this morning... san jose found stabbed in h police just announced that they have arrested 24-year old carlos carranza for the murder. he's accused of stabbing 59-year-old bambi larson in the neck and torso last month. her body was discovered inside her home on the 900 block of knollfield way. carranza was booked overnight into santa clara county jail for murder. ( darya ) in the east bay. family and friends are mourning the loss of an oakland council woman's son.. after the 21-year-old was shot and killed over the weekend. 21 year old victor 21 year old victor mcelhaney was remembered monday night at a small private event in west oakland. the son of oakland councilwoman lynette gibson mcelhaneywas shot and killed sunday... less than a mile from the university of southern california. angela wevictor call her his music mom. she's known him

the recent incident. just last year -- a female shooter opened fire on youtube employees in san bruno -- wounding three workers -- before killing herself. ( james ) on the peninsula, a c-h-p officer is in the hospital after he was hit by a car on u-s- highway 101 in san mateo. the 33-year-old officer was on his motorcycle when he crashed with a car just south of the third avenue interchange. both vehicles were headed south in the far right lane in slow traffic when the incident occured. the officer was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries....the other driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police. ( james ) new this morning two small earthquakes were recorded overnight in the bay area. the u-s geological survey says the first one happened around 10:15 in san ramon. that one was a 2 point 7 magnitude tremor. the second one was a 2 point 5 magnitude tremor that struck in unincorporated santa clara county near anderson reservoir just after 10:20. there are no reports of any injuries or damages. more protests in sacramento over the fatal

police shooting of stephon clark. this time, some doctors and medical students got involved. our sacramento reporter ashley zavala has more on their message. an abnormal scene at the uc davis hospital center monday.. dozens of doctors, medical students and staff staged a die-in. ((spencer may -medical student) "we take an oath as medical students to do no harm, to cure illness, treat injuries, to comfort the afflicted. we are here to stand with our community." current and future doctors in their scrubs and white coats laid on the ground for 12 minutes.. they say each minute represents a month without justice for stephon clark. community members now urging the police chief and city manager to fire the two officers who shot and killed clark.. the officers say they feared for their lives when they mistook his cellphone for a gun.(pastor lee simmons) " i want to invite us to continue to push to call out those two officers and to demand they are not policing our community any longer." doctors say
