(áadvance voá) the gunfire rang out during friday prayers, when both mosques were filled with worshippers. the alleged gunman live- streamed the attack on social media. he also posted a disturbing manifesto online. despite the pain and grief, community members say they are taking a strong stance against hate. melissa rainey has more. a community shocked by violence -- leaving tokens of their condolences after a gunman killed at least 49 people at two mosques in christchurch, new zealand. lynda seaton/resident: "it is an unthinkable thing that this hater has done."locals tearfully paid their respects -

vigils have been held around the world in the wake of the christ church terror attack. including here in the bay area. another vigil began at 6-30 this morning in san jose.(áboxesá) kron4's sara stinson is there now with more. sara? at 6:30 a.m. saturday, the at 6:30 a.m. at 6:30 a.m. saturday, the south bay islamic association is holding a prayer gathering at 2345 harris way in san jose. later at 7:30 p.m. saturday, a vigil is being held at the dr. martin luther king jr. library on the campus of san jose state university in san jose. the pacific institute is holding two vigils at 8 p.m. saturday. one is at 1257 tasman drive in sunnyvale and the other is being held at 979 san pablo ave. in albany. sunday, a remembrance will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the muslim community center-east bay at 5724 w. las positas blvd. in pleasanton and at 5:30 p.m. a candlelight vigil will be held in the multifaith sanctuary in st. joseph's hall at santa clara university. university.

severe injuries. animal control says the chihuahua mix had to have one of its legs amputated. kron4's dan thorn has more on the puppy's remarkable recovery despite her rocky experience.. rocky the dog is running around and enjoying life...but just weeks ago the 4 month old chihuahua mix was beaten and left for dead...sot: she was in really bad shape..on february 25th on february 25th rocky was found buried under feet of garbage in dumpster at an apartment complex. the dog was dehydrated and suffering from a severely broken back leg..sot: she was terrified a little shut down.. unfortunately, veterinarians determined the leg had to be amputated. the san francisco district attorney's office says 59 year old ronald louis jones is facing charges of animal cruelty. jones is accused of beating the dog and

throwing it down 3 story trash chute..rocky spent 4 days and 4 nights without and food or water...sot: the facts are you know quite atrocious and we are very concerned about what transpired. the puppy got the name rocky for enduring through this horrible experience. she's now receiving care from a foster facility. she's also getting a new home with a familiar face.. sot: it's me..laughs...my husband and i are adopting rocky. we have room in our household we have one small dog now and we would love for her to have a sister and rocky is gonna be darla's sister.. ( marty ) police in san francisco say a 14-year-old girl was walking her dog when she was hit by a car friday night. it happened in the 600 block of john muir drive. tha'ts on the west side of lake merced. the girl was out with her mother when the incident happenend. they both were taken to the hospital...the child has life threatening injuries. ( marty ) four teenagers were hurt in a crash friday morning in santa cruz. they were heading north on la fonda avenue when the driver lost control of the car. police say the 17-year-old driver hit several parked cars. the teens were all taken to the hospital. no word on their condition this morning. police are still looking into the cause of the crash. ( marty ) reports of an active shooter forced dozens

of people out of the century mall in l-a. police initially responded to reports of a man with a gun inside the mall's amazon store around 12:40 friday afternoon. officers say there was no evidence of a shooter following an hours long search. former florida mayor and gubernatorial candidate andrew gillum was in the mall's apple store as the situation unfolded. gillum and his companion were moved to the store's basement along with other customers < in all honesty my heart dropped a little bit i wasn't sure what the situation .. literally sprinting >( marty ) the mall was opened five hours later. police say they are investigating the incident as arson. ( marty ) a couple crashed their car into someone's yard in los angeles thursday night... and the uninvited guests decided to hold an impromptu party there.a security camera captured a car crashing into a wall outside a home. the driver hit the gas and backed up -- and

san francisco.a lengthy manifesto was posted on social media, filled with anti-immigrant, anti-muslim rhetoric and explanations for the attack. guglielmo (gul-yamo) says social media companies are spending a lot of time and energy trying to police their platforms but something slipped through the cracks. twitter said it suspended an account related to the shooting and is working to remove the video from its platform.you tube - which is owned by google tweeting this statement saying it is working vigilantly to remove any
