recent happened in livermore. a 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg while driving on 580. it happened yesterday evening. the woman was sitting in the passenger side of the car. she and another person drove off the freeway to call police. the woman is expected to be okay. police do not have a description of the shooter or the shooter's car. ( james ) the chp is also investigating a freeway shooting on highway 4 in concord. this shooting turned deadly. it happened saturday afternoon... and this morning we have learned the victim's name. the chp was investigating a silver honda that had drven off the road and hit a guard rail on eastbound highway 4 at port chicago highway. officers found bullet holes on the driver's side door. the woman behind the wheel died at the scene. she has been identified as 25-year-old destinee hillery from antioch. she was the only person in the car. ( james ) an east bay school official is fighting for his life after he was shot by his wife in a domestic dispute. paul shatswell was shot inside his home on barrie drive early saturday

morning.. police say shatswell's wife, 39 year old maria vides, shot him.. ..she's now facing attempted murder charges. shatswell is a principal at the pittsburg adult education center. the superintendent released a statement saying in-part "his impact is wide across our pittsburg community. along with the shock and grief, there will be many memories of his love of music, friends, family, pittsburg, and his passion for education." ( will ) if you take 880 in hayward can expect delays this week as cal trans begins work on express lanes. crews are closing the southbound lanes between winton avenue and highway 92. all lanes will be closed between 11:59 at night through 4 a-m tuesday and wednesday. crews will be installing 880 express lanes signs. detour signs will be in place during the closure.

people exit at winton and go up to hesperian and take it to tennison and get back on the freeway, on that on ramp there.">( will ) two lanes on the northbound side of 880 will also be closed. ( will ) in international news this morning... a manhunt is underway after a gunman opened fire inside a tram in the netherlands. several people are injured. the shooting happened around 2:45 this morning. dutch police say they are considering terrorism as a possible motive. dutch police say they have linked a 37-year-old turkish man to the shooting. ( james ) a big story we are following this morning. investigators in new zealand are still working to identify all of the victims of last week's deadly shootings at two separate mosques. at least 50 people are dead. funerals and vigils were held across the country over the weekend.the prime minister of new zealand says authorities hope to have all the bodies returned to their families by wednesday. survivors, meanwhile, attempt

( james ) 28-year-old australian brenton tarrant is charged with murder.....additional charges are expected later. in the wake of the shootings ... the government of new zealand has agreed "in principle" to make its gun laws more tough. ( james ) there's a vigil tonight honoring the lives of those people killed in that shooting in new zealand. its happening at the lake merritt amphitheater in oakland. organizers say this a chance to express solidarity with the people of new zealand and peope who are targeted by white nationalism. the vigil against islamophobia starts at 6:30. there are a lot of questions after terorrist attacks. kron four spoke with a bay area counter terrorism expert for some persepective. ron brooks says while each terrorist attack is different ... they all have hate in common. the

new zealand gunman identifies himself as a white supremacist, acting alone. brooks says these attacks are intended to strike terror, but that there is no one group committing these acts. he says people are learning how to follow through with these awful crimes on websites that are difficult for law enforcement to find. brooks brooks stresses that we must continue to live our lives in the wake of terror attacks. continue going to our places of worship, parks, schools and other public places... brooks says this shows the terrorists that the public can't be intimidated.

( will ) new this morning... we are learning more about the man accused of plotting an attack against google emplpoyees in mountain view. 30-year-old kyle long was arrested in mountain view after an iowa state trooper warned them that long was on his way to google. this morning we are hearing from the iowa trooper who alerted mountain view police. angelina salcedo has the story. (nats)it was a normal call to respond to: one vehicle in the ditch at the 92 mile marker of i-80.trooper ryan zenor/ iowa state patrol"the vehicle was running, the windows were down, the radio was on and there was no one around."that was the first red flag for trooper zenor.sot trooper - "that is not typical, somebody that is in danger, or does wreck, usually calls."after running the truck's license plate, cops found out long was from maine and has a violent past.trooper ryan zenor/ iowa state patrol"they immediately

put me in an officer safety alert - meaning this subject had diagnosed mental disorders, was extremely violent."meanwhile long was at the nearby kum and go waiting for a tow truck when troopers circled back to question him. ( will ) police in mountain view say long was mad at youtube -- because his videos were deleted, preventing him from earning money. they also found three baseball bats in long's trunk. police are holding him on suspicion of making criminal threats. ( james ) new this morning... a surfer had to be rescued after being stranded on rocks near the cliff house restaurant in san francisco. this happened around 7:00 last night. the surfer was not injured but a helicopter had to be called in because the rough waters made a boat rescue impossible. ( james ) in the east bay. antioch police seized this arsenal of guns and rifles over the weekend. police say they served a search warrant in the 200 block of j- street following an illegal firearms investigation. a convicted felon who was on parole was arrested for selling the unregistered guns ... many of which were fully automatic. ( will ) a 12-year-old boy in vacaville was stabbed over

the weekend while trying to stop a fight. it happened friday evening in the 300 block of mono drive. police say two men were arguing with another man when the child tried to intervene. the 12-year-old was cut on the arm..one of the men was also stabbed.. they both are expected to be okay. ( james ) a deadly bike accident in san francisco ... has pushed the city to create another protected bike lane. on march 8th, 30-year- old tess rothstein was riding her bike down howard when she was hit and killed. witnesses say she had veered away from the bike lane to avoid being struck by the open door of a parked car. just days after her death, the city removed parking on the block rothstein was hit -- creating a temporary protected lane.but the san francisco bicycle coalition wants more to be done. ( james ) a local legal analyst

says rothstein's family will likely have a civil case, but unless theres some level of intentional harm that was done, the chances of drivers being prosecuted is slim. ( james ) the s-f bicycle coalition plans to call for urgent, action on high-injury corridors city wide. a rally is scheduled for tomorrow at 12:30 on the steps of city hall. members will then head up to the sf-mta board meeting to push for protected bike lanes the entire length of folsom and howard streets. members of the sacramento community are coming together to remember clark. over the weekend a number of events were held in his memory. and today ... sacramento's black lives matter chapter plans to march in the meadowview neighborhood where clark died. ( james ) 22-year old clark was fatally shot by police last march in his grandmother's backyard. police said -- they thought clark was holding a gun. it turned out -- he was holding a phone. ( will ) this morning we are hearing from the family of a man in vallejo who was fatally shot by police at a taco bell drive-thru.( james ) the family of 20-year-old willie mccoy says he was ánot alert at the time of his death....they are now calling for the public to see the police body cam video that they got to view last week. kron4's dan thorn has the story. the family of 20 year old

willie mccoy says the aspiring rapper was not alert when police shot and killed him. sot: willie was unarmed. he was never coherent they shot him all of those times while he was asleep. mccoy's cousin david harrison says he viewed the police body cam shown by vallejo police last week. harrison says the poce never identified themselves when calling for willie to raise his hands and quickly fired.. sot: he was executed by firing squad you know we heard the barrage of shots..how many shots does it take to stop a threat? on the night of february 9th vallejo police say they found mccoy unresponsive at a taco bell drive thru with a hand gun in his lap. police say when they arrived they boxed-in his car to prevent any sudden movements.they say mccoy woke up but did not listen to their commands..while watching the video harrison says it appears

the police were not sure what to do..sot: one cop said to the other cop after he told him the gun was not loaded he said well if he know what to do. and then he said this.. harrison says that gesture shows the police were not concerned with keeping mccoy alive. the family's attorney was not alwed to view the police body cam video. but harrison wants the video be released so the public can see what happened. ( will ) that was dan thorne reporting. the family viewed the body cam video the same day the vallejo police chief announced he's retiring. the taco bell where the shooting happened has not reopened since the shooting. . ( james ) a san francisco man is accused of tossing a puppy down a trash chute..causing severe injuries. last month, rocky was was found buried under feet of garbage in a dumpster at an apartment complex. the dog was dehydrated and suffered from a severely broken back leg... unfortunately, veterinarians determined the leg had to be amputated. 59-year-old ronald jones is accused of beating the dog and throwing

on the way to irvington high school's athletic program thanks to an annual charity basketball game. super bowl champion and fremont native robert turbin was back in town to put on the event. last season was rough for turbin... he was injured for parts of it and then the indianapolis colts released him before the season was over. despite that, turbin invited three time olympic gold medalist will claye, and his former college teammate and current n-f-l player bobby wagner to join him.

credit card "skimming" ring in sacramento. deputies say the men planted a camera on the a-t-m pinpads where a potential victim would punch in their number. after the man installs the camera at the a-t-m he comes back to add the skimming device. the men are accused of stealing credit card information from at least 40 people in the sacramento area. ( james ) because police say the suspects had been stealing credit card info for months -- they warn skimming devices could still be out there. investigators say there are steps you can take to keep yourself safe. hide the keypad when you're plugging in your pin. and check the machine to make sure it's secure. ( james ) the paradise high school baseball team took on corning high school at oracle park over the weekend. the san francisco giants invited paradise to play there after many of the players suffered extreme loss and devastation from the deadly camp fire in november. the idea came from a parent reaching out to the giants.. the event was free and fans who attended the game received a paradise strong t-shirt..
