are following this morning... two men are dead after an r-v fire in the town of dixon. the fire started around 4:25 this morning. 2 other people suffered serious burns. the two who died were inside the r-v. the other two were outside. they were taken to the hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. ( will ) police in vallejo are looking for the man who broke into a family's home, and snuck in the baby's room before making off with thousands of dollars worth of electronics. the vicitm's sister says the burglar broke into the home on cotta way sunday morning. the burglar is seen quickly sneaking into her nephew's room while the 1 year old is resting..his 4 year old sister and mom were also fast asleep at the time.. it appears the man came in through the back window after destroying

the screen. she says the man targeted the home after her sister's husband left to go for a morning run. when he returned he noticed the surveillance cameras had been tampered with and things were missing.. ( will ) vallejo police are handling this investigation. the man stole a phone, mac books, headphones and an ipad.. the burglar apparently left behind some gloves which could be used to identify the suspect through d-n-a testing. ( james ) in the east bay... police are investigating three freeway shootings that happened in three days. none of the shootings appear to be related ... but police say the victims were targeted. 25-year-old destinee hillery was killed saturday. the antioch woman was found shot to death in her car on eastbound highway 4 near the willow pass road off ramp. california highway patrol investigators

believe this shooting was gang related. just hours after that shooting ... police say a 24 year old woman was shot in the leg on highway 580 near airway boulevard -- in what may have been sparked by road rage. and then yesterday, on 80 west - just east of mcdonald avenue -- another driver discovered a bullet hole in their car. no arrests have been made. ( james ) and investigators looking intosaturday's deadly highway shooting may get some help from a network of cameras that have been installed along the highway 4 and interstate 80 corridors. kron 4's maureen kelly reports that there is still some work to do on this project that has been years today caltrans crews work to replace the guardrail that was crashed into when 25 year old destinee hillary's silver honda plowed into saturday after 2pm on the willow pass off ramp of eastbound 4....it was after officers responded to the crash that they found bullet holes in her car..... it's a freeway that now has more eyes on it.....because of a network of equiptment meant to aid investigators it's up on highway 4 and highwaty 80 and it's called our freeway security network systemthey include cameras.....shot spotter technology and liscense plate readers...that

( will ) happening today... the contra costa count board of supervisors will consider a proposal for automated license plate readers in the discovery bay area. a spokesperson for the contra costa county sheriff says the county wants to install 21 cameras along highway 4 and bixler road. police say suspects often flee to discovery bay because it is so close to highway 4. they are hoping that license plate readers can help police identify some of these suspects. and black as negotiations continue between the dublin unified school district and teachers association.98 percent of the association agreed on friday to authorize a strike if teachers believe the mediation has been exhausted.teachers say they are becoming fed up with negotiations as they've been going on for 11 months. teachers are asking for managable class size caps, better staffing ratios for counselors, as well as a compensation that will attract educators to the school district. teachers specifically want a three percent salary increase - the

alejandro manrique was arrested after he allegedly caused a disturbance and restaurant staff asked him to leave. he allegedly refused and police were called. manrique was booked into the county jail and released monday morning. he lives in los altos. before his release, sheriff's officials were contacted by interpol about possible charges against manrique in peru. sheriff's officials said they followed up with interpol and learned that charges against the former president in peru do not authorize his arrest in the u.s. ( will ) another big story we are following this morning... an oakland man is under arrest and accused of s f sex. malik malveaux was arrested in santa ana. he was arrested in a motel room with twoo teenage girls. they were 13 and 15 years old. a day earlier police also found a 16-year-old victim.

social services has reached out the the victims to provide them with the help they need. ( james ) new this morning....the contra costa county sheriff's office is giving us a look at the moment a helicopter crew rescued a hiker near lafayette. crews received a report over the weekend of an elderly hiker injured on the acalanes trail. rescuers located the hiker within minutes...and were able to evaluate the victim. they had to hoist the victim to the helicopter because of the steep terrain in the area. the victim was then taken to a hospital. no word on their condition this morning. ( james ) vice president mike vice president mike pence travels to nebraska today to get a first-hand view of the dangerous and deadly flooding. the governor there says this could be the worst flooding nebraska has ever seen. the flooding is blamed for at least three deaths. the nebraska emergency management agency says this flood has already cost the state more than 205- million dollars.

the calls for punishment against larry baer are mounting following this very public physical altercation between the giants president and his wife.monday san francisco mayor london breed issued a statement saying "major league baseball needs to send a message that any and all acts of violence against women is unacceptable....while mr. baer has apologized and expressed remorse for his behavior, it does not excuse his actions and it does not erase what transpired. the mayor's statement follows a letter written to major league baseball on friday by a bay area coalition advocating an end to violence against women. sot andrea shorter/do what's right mlb coalition :34we want to make sure as we move

( will ) happening now... police departments throughout california are warning parents about virtual kidnapping scams. the warning comes after officers say two victims near laguna beach received calls... claiming their daughters had been abducted-- and would be harmed... unless money was wired to a mexican bank account. the calls happened within a 24-hour period. police say the calls were hoaxes-- and there were no abductions. one of the victims paid five-thousand dollars before learning his daughter was safe. ( james ) it may not be easy accessing the hills filled with poppies in southern california. walker canyon reopened monday after large crowds forced it to shut down over the weekend. ábutá the city warns parking is extremely limited. offcials were forced to shut down shuttle service and stop visitors... the trail's poppy fields are experiencing an especially colorful floral bloom this year after an unusually wet winter. the city says the site has drawn thousands of visitors from around the world. ( james ) highway 17 been living up to its reputation so far this year when it comes to crashes....( will ) bad weather, excessive speed and distracted

driving are mostly to blame for a dramatic spike in accidents. kron four's rob fladeboe has the story. looking back on the wet, wintry months of january and february there were no fewer than 228 crashes on highway 17 between los gatos and scotts valley. that's the most in a decade and triple the rate on other state roads wth similar traffic patterns according to the group "safe on 17." several people were injured and three people died, which is often the number of fatalities in an entire year. bad weather and slick pavement may be to blame for many of the crashes but too often, accidents are caused when drivers are simply going too fast for conditions says the chp's julieta trenado.juileta trenado/chp "...upon further investigation most o these accidents are due to people following too closely so we do encourage people to reduce speed especially on the downhill grades..."most of the crashes are occurring on the downhill curves within a mile of the summit in either direction. the chp has stepped enforcement in recent years and caltrans has added extra signs, new turn lanes, wider

( james ) in the east bay... teachers and students at a pittsburg school are reacting after learning that their principal was shot. police beelieve he was shot by his wife. teachers and students are sending principal paul shatswell get well letters and prayers. police say shatswell was critically wounded during a domestic violence incident at his home this weekend. the incident has left people at the pittsburg adult education center in disbelief.

organized the sale say the prized pigeon is considered to be the best long-distance racing pigeon "of all time." his name is armando..and he's been dubbed by some as the lewis hamilton of racing pigeons --in reference to the formula one racing driver. the one million dollar bid came in the final hours of the auction as two potential buyers kept one-upping each other. the price went from about 600-thousand to one-point-four million in about an hour. armando is the most expensive bird ever to be sold at auction.
