own community."> ( james ) thanks sara. in the east bay...police are investigating three freeway shootings that happened in three days. none of the shootings appear to be related ... but police say the victims were targeted. 25-year-old destinee hillery was killed saturday. the antioch woman was found
shot to death in her car on eastbound highway 4 near the willow pass road off ramp. california highway patrol investigators believe this shooting was gang related. just hours after that shooting ... police say a 24 year old woman was shot in the leg on highway 580 near airway boulevard -- in what may have been sparked by road rage. and then yesterday, on 80 west - just east of mcdonald avenue -- another driver discovered a bullet hole in their car. no arrests have been made. a network of cameras installed along highway four and interstate 80 may help police in saturday's deadly highway shooting. it's called the freeway security network system ... and it includes cameras ... shotspotter technology and license plate readers. the system is expected to be fully operational in june. video from the cameras along highway found and i-80 is being checked to see if it can help investigators develop leads. < brandon corriea, chp:

( will ) happening today... the contra costa count board of supervisors will consider a proposal for automated license plate readers in the discovery bay area. a spokesperson for the contra costa county sheriff says the county wants to install 21 cameras along highway 4 and bixler road. police say flee to discovery bay because it is so close to highway 4. they are hoping that license plate readers can help police identify some of these suspects. terrifying moment for one family ... after a burglar broke into their home and snuck into the baby's room -- with the child sleeping in the crib. the whole thing-- caught on camera ... and the burglar is still out there. kron 4's dan thorn has the story. a vallejo family shares chilling video of a man creeping into their baby's room while a burglarizing their home...sot: it was scary i was like in tears once i saw that video... schendelle (shin dell boho lah no) bohulano says the burglar broke into her sister's house on cotta way sunday morning. the burglar is seen quickly sneaking into her nephew's room while the 1 year old is peacefully resting..his 4 year old sister and mom were also fast asleep at the time.. bohulano says she feared for her nephew and niece..sot: i was very angry i was just like i was really honestly upset about that that's why i was like the moment i got here i went and hugged my niece and nephew im so glad that they're safe. in the video the burglar is seen in front of the home wearing a red hoodie. but it
appears he came in through the back window after destroying the screen.surveillance images from around 8 am captured the man stealing a phone. he also made off with mac books, headphones and an ipad..nats sot: this is where he took the mac desk top..and this is where he pulled the cord nats.. bohulano says the man targeted the home after her sister's husband left to go for a morning run.when he returned he noticed the surveillance cameras had been tampered with and things were missing.. video from a neighbor shows the burglar stuffing the electronics in the trunk of this silver hatchback. and then driving off. ( will ) another big story we are following this morning... an oakland man is under arrest and accused of trafficking teenage girls for sex. malik malveaux was arrested in santa ana. he
was arrested in a motel room with twoo teenage girls. they were 13 and 15 years old. a day earlier police also found a 16-year-old victim. social services has reached out the the victims to provide them with the help they need. ( james ) new this morning....the contra costa county sheriff's office is giving us a look at the moment a helicopter crew rescued a hiker near lafayette. crews received a report over the weekend of an elderly hiker injured on the acalanes trail. rescuers located the victim within minutes...and were able to evaluate the victim. they had to hoist the victim to the helicopter because of the steep terrain in the area. the victim was then taken the victim was then taken to a hospital. no word on their condition this morning. ( james ) in the south bay... police in los altos are warning people to be on the lookout for a driveway repair scam. they say the scammers are targeting elderly residents-- offering to repair driveways. they will give victims a verbal estimate-- without a contract. the
work is then done with low grade materials to complete a sub par job. the scammers then demand a cash-only payment that is significantly larger than the original estimate. police are now warning residents to be aware of these types of workers going door-to-door. ( james ) happening now on the peninsula... police are looking for three suspects involved in robbery and carjacking in half moon bay. it happened outside the wells fargo bank a-t-m on san mateo road. police say a man was withdrawing money when a man with a handgun approached him and demanded cash as well as the keys to his b-m-w. the victim complied and saw two other men in his car as it peeled out. a short time later-- the suspects led officers on a chase, but eventually got away. police are now looking for a blue b-m-w s-u-v. mayor london breed is among the people calling for giants c-e-o larry baer to face disciplinary action. it comes after a very public physical altercation between the giants president and his wife. the mayor wrote a statement saying quote ... "major league baseball needs to send a message that any and all acts of violence against women is unacceptable." a bay area coalition advocating the m-l-b to take more action.

vides was arrested and booked in county jail for attempted murder...in pittsburg haaziq madyun krom4news in the south bay... there's been a recent spike in crashes along highway 17. in january and feburary -- there were 228 crashes on highway 17 between los gatos and scotts valley. that's the most in a decade and three times the rate on other state roads wth similar traffic patterns according to the group "safe on 17." several people were injured died in the first two months of the year, which is often the number of fatalities in an entire year. and it's not just the bad weather that has caused an uptick in
accidents... c-h-p says another problem is distracted driving. ( james ) in the east bay -- elected officials and religious leaders are launching a program for homeless people who live in their cars in oakland. the program will open overnight safe parking lots. each site will feature an on-site security guard, portable toilets, hand-washing stations, drinking water, and security cameras. alameda county supervisor wilma chan spoke with us about the program. ( james ) participants in the program must sign a code of conduct and must leave the parking lots by 8:30 each morning. she said they can bring their vehicles to the lots between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each night.

arrested after he allegedly caused a disturbance and restaurant staff asked him to leave. he allegedly refused and police were called. manrique was booked into the county jail and released monday morning. he lives in los altos. before his release, sheriff's officials were contacted by interpol about possible charges against manrique in peru. sheriff's officials said they followed up with interpol and learned that charges against the former president in peru do not authorize his arrest in the u.s.
