now you can see ... and more rain is expected to come our way. good evening i'm pam moore(ken) and i'm ken wayne. thank you for joining us. we want to get right to our chief meteorologist lawrence karnow with a look at when those showers are expected to hit the bay area. lawrence karnow: it has been a wet day for the bay area with rain starting this morning and it continues tonight. on the doppler radar we can see plenty or rain over the bay area and heavier rain is on the way. the rain will be heavy at times before midnight before turning to showers. on the satellite you can see the cold front coming through. lows tonight will be in the 40s. we will see partly cloudy skies with cool temperatures tomorrow with highs in the 50s and 60s. it will be partly cloudy on sunday but mostly dry. rain will return sunday

four hours to get here from santa cruz. there was like three accidents, yeah i feel like winter hasn't gotten the message that it's over."> we saw dry conditions in south san francisco friday evening but more rain is expected in the forecast.the national weather service says a frontal boundary will move from northwest to southeast across the region friday resulting in widespread rainfall through the night.some are welcoming the unsettled weather. others are craving more sunshine.. we are learning new details about the death of san francisco public defender jeff adachi. according to the san francisco medical examiner report just released this afternoon -- cocaine and alcohol contributed to his death. kron4's michelle kingston joins us with details. (michelle)michellethe medical examiner ruled adachi's death as accidental.and in addition to the cocaine and alcohol in his system -- they say he also

had a form of heart disease. (mk)jeff adachi served as the city's public defender since 2002.he died last month ... after a night out with a female companion.according to the san francisco medical examiner report ... adachi had spent the day with this woman ... named "catalina."according to the report ..."at some point, they consumed some edibles (cannabis). around 4pm, they went to a north beach restaurant and had dinner. they drank a glass or two of champagne, and mr. adachi ate well."at dinner -- he began to complain of upper respiratory problems and began sweating.his friend asked if he wanted to go to the hospital but he refused.they took a ride share back to a north beach apartment, which, according to the report, belongs to a lawyer who lives outside of the bay area.at the apartment, he took ibuprofen ... but continued to sweat and experience severe abdominal pain.he asked his companion to pick up some zantac. when she returned from the corner store, he was still in pain and became confused.she called 911.paramedics say that "...witnesses at the scene stated that (adachi) had been

acting 'strange' and unlike himself, grinding his teeth before collapsing. emergency services found (him) unresponsive on the floor of a bedroom."he was administered narcan and was transported to the hospital -- where he was later pronounced dead. (grant) this started with two guys fighting on a train that was rolling into train that was rolling into the fruitvale station in oakland.

bart detectives are investigating what led to the dispute... but the man who stabbed the victim took off... and bart closed the fruitvale station for more than an hour while detectives hour while detectives searched for evidence and workers cleaned the area. trains were passing through the station but were not stopping. bus service was provided during the station closure. the incident was just before 3:00 this afternoon. investigators are also looking over surveillance video. surveillance video. police have not released a description of the attacker. the victim was taken to the hospital with injuries considered non-life threatening. (pam) the cal- bears coach addressed the sexual harrassment allegations facing his team today. he talked about the allegations by a former sports medicine intern... she claims she endured what she calls ... ruthless, endless and persistant sexual harrasment.. on and off the field.... by both players and coaches. the most serious allegations involved one unnamed coach, who she says... grabbed and kissed her ... after inviting her to come to his office at memorial stadium... and told her, the next day during practice that he would get her fired if she do not have sex with him. coach wilcox says they

are taking the allegations very seriously and fully support the investigation now underway by campus officials. (anchor) if some san francisco supervisors get their way, juvenile hall will be shutdown by december 2021, and replaced with a state of art facility that better treats juvenile offenders. supervisors hillary ronen and shamann walton plan to introduce legislation in april to have the facility closed saying it is an ineffective way to deal with juvenile offenders. they say better to spend the millions of dollars spent annually on a state of the art facility that can really rehabilitate these young offenders. ronen envisions a new

warriors make a big announcement as they wrap up a week of events surrounding the new chase center. we've heard about big musical acts like metallica and andre bocelli who will be entertaining fans in the fall. but today we learned .. who the warriors will face.. as the n-b-a returns to san francisco. kron 4's dan thorn has more on the announcement... he joins us live in san francisco ... after getting a tour of the new chase center.. with one of the warriors' stars..dan? (dan)ken/pam the golden state warriors announced the los angeles lakers will be the team's first opponent in the nba's return to san francisco. that game is schedule for october 5th and it will be the first time since the 70s that professional basketball will be played in the city. warriors star draymond green was pretty excited about making the announcement today at a press conference.shortly after, we joined the warriors' star on a tour of the progress of the chase center. the state

(grant) the governor also wants to address 911 and communication challenges when wildfires break out... (grant) he says county and emergency officials will be coming together at a summit in may to work this out. (ken) in oakland -- a driver left marijana trimmings along the freeway yesterday. deputies say the truck was piled with bags of marijuana... and somebegan falling out because it wasn't properly secured. the spill left a trail at least a mile long. the c-h-p stopped the driver on the connector from northbound 880 to 580. the marijuana was from a legal business, but the driver was cited for driving

without a commercial license. no injuries were reported. (pam) the golden gate bridge district board of directors today approved a plan to increase tolls on the iconic bridge. right now, it costs fastrak drivers $7.00 to cross the bridge. as of july 1st... that will go up by 35- cents. and every year for the next five years... it will increase by 35- cents. by 2023 ... a cents. by 2023 ... a fastrak driver will pay $8.75...fastrak driver will pay $8.75... pay as you go commuters will pay 9- dollars. and if you do not use fastrak or pay as you go .... and the bridge has to send you a bill in the mail ... it will be $9.75. if you are single and a millennial .... you are not alone. the statistics showing ... much of the younger generation is not committing to a romantic interest.

(pam) from ok=cupid .. to tinder.. to bumble ... the internet has plenty of ways for young people to find love. (ken) according to a new survey ... they're not working. catherine heenan reports a record number number of young americans now say they have no romantic partner. one may be the loneliest number ... but now it's also the most common number for americans between the ages of 18 and 35.the national opinion research center says a record high 51 percent now say they have no romantic partner. that's up six percent from two years ago ... and 18 percent from 2004.that's a significantly higher number

than other age groups ... among 35 to 49 year olds, the percentage drops dramatically to 21 percent before rising again with age.the survey also found marked differences based on political affiliation. forty=one percent of democrats said they had no romantic partner.only 29 percent of republicans said the same. overall, the survey found little over one third of all americans had no partners,that number was lowest in the west and highest in the northeast. (ken) omar jimenez says the report is being described by a doj official as "comprehensive"... he has the details from washington. omar jimenez / washington: "it's done. after nearly two years, the special counsel investigation from robert mueller is now over."the

report is being described by a doj official as "comprehensive" the full report was delivered to attorney general bill bar earlier this afternoon -- shortly after the heads of the judiciary committees in both the house and senate were notified of its conclusion.i wanna read you part of that notification letter."the special counsel has submitted to me today a "confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions" he has reached""i am reviewing the report and anticipate that i may be in a position to advise you of the special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend."so far here's what the investigation has led to and critically we've learned that there will be no further indictments.199 overall criminal counts37 people and entities charged7 people pleaded guilty5 people sentenced to prison1 person convicted at trialso. how did we get here?this all began back in may of 2017...deputy attorney general rod rosenstein tapped robert mueller to take over an investigation that was already underway at the fbi that...by the way....came on the tail

end of a week that ábegan with trump firing the fbi director james comey.rosenstein's public order specifically authorized mueller to investigate:1. russian interference in the 2016 presidential election2. "any links and/or coordination between the russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of president donald trump"3. "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation"4. any efforts to obstruct the investigation the white house has not áseen the report just yet...but was notified of its delivery...similar to congress. sarah sanders did say the next steps are up to attorney general barr...and that they look forward to the process taking its course. omar jimenez / washington: as for how much will be made public, that is still a major question but at least one doj official says the áprincipal conclusions "expected to be made public." in washington, i'm omar jimenez reporting. (pam) major changes coming to the parking situation at the walnut creek bart station. they come in the form of a new bus transit center, a new parking garage and a new bart police substation. one big noticiable change... is the location of the passenger drop- off area. that white zone is no longer right outside the ticket agent booth. travelers are going to have to walk to get to the location .. where passengers are being picked up. sot sot

(ken) just a few weeks into their season... and the newark little league's shed was burglarized... the thieves stole a quad a-t-v. it appears they used bolt cutters, to get through the locked storage container at the ernie silva sports complex in newark -- and took off with the quad.fess santiago/coach- "i just thought who would ever steal a quad from a little league. i mean, this is for the kids. this is not a business, this is a non-profit little league."(ken) the coach says he believes the theft happened sometime between wednesday night and early thursday morning. there are at least three sruveillance cameras in the area... and, that video is under review. newark police hope someone in the public can help solve this case. the dubs returned to the oracle on thursday night for a little bit of home cooking.....and boy did they put on a show for the home crowd.....>they jumped all over the pacers from start to finish.....>this was demarcus cousins' first game back after missing two games due to injury.....>and he looked fresh as he led the dubs with 19 points and 11 rebounds....> but it was a great all around effort from the dubs.....>klay had 18.....steph and kd each chipped in with 15......>after the game....kerr was full of praise for his prized big man.....> "demarcus was fantastic. he was physical in there, he was, you know, getting a lot of drives to the hoop and drawing a lot of attention defensively, you know, making great passes. we had 19 assists at halftime even though we weren't really clicking yet. but, i thought some of that was just playing through demarcus and his aggressiveness."
