the east bay are looking for the person who shot a man in the overnight hours at a bank. ( james ) kron 4's sara stinson is joining us now live in walnut creek with more on the investigation. it's not everyday you hear about a shooting in walnut creek let alone downtown in front of a bank and across the sreet from the movie theater. this morning police do not have the shooter in custody. the shooting happened at the union bank parking lot on mount diablo blvd and locust street last night just before ten.an entire block was tapped off as walnut creek police investigated the scene...nearby movie goers stood by wondering what happened.after a man was shot he walked into kaiser's walnut creek medical center with a gunshot wound to the back.his
injuries are non life threatening.the odd thing is that there are very few witnesses so the circumstances that led up to the shooting are still under investigation. people on scene say the victim was robbed before being shot - but we are still trying to confirm that with police. right now we're waiting to get an update from police to see where they're at in the investigation this morning. live in walnut creek, sara stinson, kron four news. a man is in ( james ) thanks sara. ( will ) now to a big story we are following -- the valero benicia refinery contues to be shutdown shut down after heavy smoke could be seen coming from the facility. the refinery is located on second street. this has been going on since the weekend. valero says the cause was valero says

( james ) in the east bay...charges could be upgraded for the woman who police say shot her husband in pittsburg. "paul shatswell" died sunday after he was placed on life support... he was shot last weekend at a home on barrie drive. police got a call about a domestic incident and found the 45-year-old shot in the head. shatswell was a principal at pittsburg adult education center. right now --his wife 39-year-old ámaria videsis charged with attempted murder... she is being held on 2-million dollars bail at the contra costa sheriff's office jail in martinez. the couple have 8 children together. this is the city of pittsburg's first homocide of the year. ( james ) police in san francisco are investigating a shooting that killed one person and sent 5 people to the hospital. the shooting happened saturday night just
after 8:30 in the 13-hundred block of fillmore street. police say the person killed was a 25-year-old man from san francisco. officers did not release information about any suspects. ( will ) new this morning... a man is dead after he was hit by a car while trying to cross highway 101 in mountain view. it happened last night near the rengstorff avenue interchange. the person was trying to cross the northbound lanes when he was hit by the car. police say the driver stopped at the scene and is working with police. the victim was taken to the hospital where he died... his identity has not been released. the nothbound lanes of 101 were shutdown for about 30 minutes after the accident. ( will ) a surfer was rescued from ocean beach over the weekend near the cliff house restaurant. the man was rescued just after four sunday after noon in the area known as seal rocks. a helicopter was used to rescue him after he was stranded on the coastal rocks just below
the cliff house. he is expected to be okay. ( will ) police in southern california are investigating a possible arson and hate crime at a mosque. the fire was started ealy sunday morning at a mosque located about 30 miles north of san diego. members of the mosque put out the flames quickly and the building suffered minor damage. the suspects left a note referencing the deadly attakcs in new zealand. "you know what, do don't feel anymore safe here because of what's going on around the world right now and also what happened in new zealand and the mosque over there."( will ) yesterday in new zealand -- about 40-thousand people gathered for an event in christchurch honoring the 50 people killed in the march 15th attack on two mosques. ( james ) in politics this morning...president donald trump is reacting to the details in attorney general william barr's summarization of the mueller report. ( will )
according to barr -- the report did not find donald trump's presidential campaign conspired with russia during the 20-16 election.it was also announced that mueller also didn't have sufficient evidence to prosecute the president for obstruction of justice...( james ) omar jiminez is in washington with more. details are starting to emerge from special counsel robert mueller's nearly two year long investigation.sunday...attorn ey general william barr sent a letter to congress summarizing the main conclusions from mueller's report. critically...mueller did not find president donald trump's campaign or associates conspired with russia during the 2016 u-s presidential election.also...attorney general barr and deputy attorney general rod rosenstein decided the evidence was "not sufficient" to support a prosecution of the president for obstruction of justice.and then at one point barr quotes mueller directly writing:"while this
report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not áexonerate him."president trump had this to say shortly after the summary was delivered.president donald trump: "it was a complete and total exoneration it's a shame that our country had to go through this. to be honest it's a shame your president had to go through this."on the other hand...house judiciary chairman jerry nadler said this summary isn't enough. jerrold nadler, (d) chairman, house judiciary committee: "his conclusions raise more questions than they answer, given the fact that mueller uncovered evidence that in his own words does not exonerate the president."attorney general barr says he does plan to release more...but he is working with robert mueller to redact any sensitive information before it can be made public.

ambitious fire prevention plan in middletown which suffered the first of a series of massive wildfires in 2015. since then there have been other catastrophic wildfires. newsomús proclamation allows fast tracking prescribed burns, clearing out fire breaks, and manage forests, in the most vulnerable areas. it also means doing faster environmental reviews. < newsom 'iúve made no bones about the fact if we can fast track ceqa for football stadiums and arenas, we can do so to save lives>( james ) the plan also helps local officials organize and prepare for disasters, and it provides 50 million dollars to mobilize volunteer groups like americorps. ( james ) in national news....another parkland, florida shooting survivor has died in an apparent suicide. the community was already mourning the death of a former student, sydney aiello , who died last sunday. her mother says she had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and suffered from survivor's guilt. now police say a current student died saturday night.
police are investigating -- but are calling it an apparent suicide. the student's name has not been released. ( will ) after two deadly plane crashes in the span of six months.... involving one type of plane...... over the weekend boeing tested software changes to the 737 max planes. the three u-s carriers that fly the planes tested software changes to a key stabilization system on saturday. the changes are meant to decrease the chances of triggering the maneuvering characteristics augmentation system. it's believed the system played a role in the lion air crash in indonesia in october. the federal aviation administration has said there are similarities between that crash and the crash in ethiopia earlier this month. the crashes led to the indefinite grounding of all 737 max jets. the f-a-a is expected to get the software sometime this week. ready to see major changes to the parking situation at the walnut creek bart station. a new bus transit center is now open and there will soon be a new parking garage. ther's also a new bart police substation one big noticiable change is the location of the passenger drop off area. that white zone is no longer right outside the ticket agent booth. you will have to do a little walking to get to the location where passengers are being picked up.

( will ) police in sonoma county are minding drivers to lock their doors and take out your valuables.....after a man was caught on camera breaking into a cars. surveillance video caught this person walking up to cars in a healdsburg neighborhood. the first car was locked..and then he moves on to the next car..which wasn't locked..he goes inside and rummages through the vehicle...he then

hoping survillance cameras will help them find the person who stole a valuable piece of equipment. last week, someone broke into a locked storage container at the ernie silva sports complex and took off with an a-t-v. officials with the league believe the thief knew what they were looking for because they used bolt cutters to get through the lock.. officials believe the theft happened between last wednesday night and early thursday morning. ( james ) the a-t-v has been used by the organization for more than 15 years and is registered with the d-m-v. ( will ) seven teenagers in san mateo are facing charges after police say they were caught with a stolen car. it happened friday morning on south fremont street. the group ran away when officers arrived.
police say the teenagers were uncooperative when officers caught up with them. police say they fought with officers and gave them fake names. the teenagers range from ages 14 to 17...they are charged with possession of stolen property and obstructing a police officer. ( will ) a loaded magazine caused a security scare at san francisco international airport. for about an hour...flights were grounded saturday and some boarding areas were shutdown. law enforcement was trying to track down a passenger who was flagged by transportation security administration agents -- who noticed a loaded magazine in the passenger's bag. the ordeal caused major delays and long lines. nick martin/traveler- "we had thought originally that somebody was waiting for their bags, tsa saw that there was something in there that they were discussing and that that person had just bolted and run because they were anxious about getting caught, but it does seem like now that that person didn't realize that they had packed their loaded magazine." t-s-a agents were able to track that person down. an aiport duty manager says the passenger had the magazine in his carry-on bag after visiting a shooting range. the passenger was re-screened and allowed to leave. "how to train your dragon: the hidden world" spent its fifth straight weekend in the top five, finishing fifth on ticket sales of six-and-a-half million dollars. the romantic drama "five feet apart" moved down to fourth place, earning eight-point-eight million dollars in its sophomore weekend.
