developing news tonight. pending a judge's approval.... the wife of an east bay school principal... will soon be facing murder charges. 45-year-old paul shatswell died yesterday.. after being shot in the head at his home last weekend. he had been on life support ever since the shooting. shatswell was a principal at pittsburg adult education center. right now, his wife, 39- year-old maria vides, is charged with attempted murder. tonight, prosecutors are moving to amend the charge to murder. vides is being held on 2-million dollars bail at the contra costa sheriff's office jail in martinez. she is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charge this friday.
(ken) walnut creek police are still looking for the gunman who shot a man in walnut creek just before 10 o clock last night. it happened on mount diablo blvd and locust street -- across the street from century theaters. the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back... but was able to walk into kaiser's walnut creek medical center. his injuries are non life threatening. police say there are few witnesses... and that the shooting remains under investigation. (pam) in san francisco.. a woman's body was found this morning along the beach at fort funston... in the same spot, where a 22-year-old female was buried under a landslide a month ago. kron 4's charles clifford has details. around 8 monday morning the body of a female was found along the beach here at ft. funston. the remains were found about a mile north of where i'm standing here at the main parking lot of ft funston. now, the body has not yet been identified but the remains were found in the same spot where a month ago on feb. 22nd, 22 year old kyra sunshine scarlet was killed when a cliff collapsed and buried her under sand. she was walking along the beach at the time with another woman and a dog. the other woman and the dog were partially buried but survived.the san
francisco police department, the fire department, medical examiner were here. ft funston is actually park service property so the us park police were here as well. they are actually the lead on this investigation into who this woman was.in san francisco, charles clifford kron 4 news. michael michael avenatti has made a name for himself as the attorney for stormy daniels -- the former adult film actress who claims she had an affair with president trump. now avenatti is finding himself on a different side of the law -- as a defendant. grant lodes joins us now in the studio with details. office also announced extortion charges against avenatti. u-s prosecutors say he attempted to get 20 million dollars from nike by threatening to expose damaging information about the company. according to the criminal complaint, avenatti met with an attorney for nike last week and threatened to release damaging information about the company if nike didn't make millions in payment to avenatti and an un-named co- conspirator. but according to c-n-n sources... the co-conspirator is california-based attorney mark geragos.... who has represented celebrities like colin kaepernick and more recently jussie smollett. geragos has not been charged with a crime. avenatti also allegedly demanded that nike pay $1.5 million to an individual he claimed to represent.just today... about an hour before he was arrested...avenatti tweeted that he'd be holding a news conference tomorrow to disclose details about a scandal involving nike.... saying it involved people at the highest levels of the company... and college

evidence tonight traffic and housing issues have more people pulling up stakes and leaving the bay area. (2-shot/pam) and as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now, there is also reason to believe.... that many people would be willing to pay higher taxes, if it would help to ease those issues. it turns out many of those "for sale" and "sale pendng" signs are part of a disturbbng
