went to the mountain view walmart two saturdays ago --- march 16th --- between three and five p-m. kron 4's j.r. stone has where that person went. . all is quiet at this mountain view walmart but the health department now says that a person with measles was here at this location not last saturday but the saturday before between the hours of three and five.sot it's very concerning ya know i mean... john carter frequently shops at this mountain view walmart. in fact he was here the day the person with the measles was here on march 16th. he is feeling fine but he's concerned because his son was with him as well.sot don't want him getting the measles the individual with measles also went to tower observation deck at stanford university, this poki bowl restaurant in palo alto, this cvs pharmacy in sunnyvale, and

latest. nearly 30 firefighters are battling a 1-alarm blaze at a home in concord early wednesday morning, according to contra costa county fire protection district fire officials. at least one person has suffered a burn injury in the fire first reported at a home in the 3700 block of bon homme way, fire captain tracie dutter said. the fire has not been contained.

according to the l-a times... amy and gregory colburn are the first people against whom the u-s attorney has secured an indictment. the paper is reporting that the charges relate to the hiring of rick singer to rig their son's college entrance exam. singer is the confessed leader of the admissions scam/ at least 30 other parents have been charged in the scandal since the investigation was announced earlier this month. ( will ) another big story we are following this morning... the city of san francisco has reached a settlement with the mother of mario woods. who was fatally shot by police in the bayview districrt back in 2015. woods was a suspect in a previous stabbing and when police approached him he refused to drop the knife that he was holding. but the lawsuit filed by wodds; mother claimed that her son never threatened the officers or raised the knife befo the a reached in the settlement has not been announced. the settlement was reached just 6

days before a jury trial was scheduled to start in san francisco. ( will ) a man wanted for a shooting in san francisco's mission district is arrested after a shootout with c-h-p. police have not released his name... but they say he shot a man on 13th street monday before driving to southern california. his car turned up in riverside county near the arizona border. there was a shootout when the c-h-p caught up with him. no officers were injured. it is not clear if the gunman was injured. as for the shooting victim in san francisco... we're told that person is in critical condition. ( james ) new this morning... a man working for a ride-hailing service is arrested for exposing himself near the u-c berkeley campus multiple times. the incidents happened last year in the area of dwight way and etna street. police increased patrols in the area and after months of investigating they arrested david herrington. he is charged with 4 counts of indecent exposure ( james ) police in palo

alto are warning people about phone scammers claiming to be i-r-s workers who are calling and demanding money transfers. the impersonator will typically tell the victim ... they owe money to the i-r-s ... and it must be paid immediately using a pre - loaded debit card or wire transfer. police say people have been threatened with arrest if they do not cooperate and some have even received fake arrest warrants. but-- the i-r-s says it will never call anyone asking for money. ( will ) the family of kyra sunshine scarlet have confirmed that the body found at fort funston beach-- is kyra... the city's medical examiner's office has ánot identified the body as the landslide victim. the woman's body was found monday morning...in the same spot, where the 22-year-old was buried under a landslide a month ago. back on feburary 22nd -- a cliff collapsed and buried her under sand. she was walking along the cliffs at the time ... with another woman and a dog. give the average teacher a 13- thousand, 500 dollar raise or 23-percent increase in pay --- with federal money. for every one dollar a state contributes to increasing pay, the federal government chips in three, until the teacher pay gap is closed with a focus on high need public schools, often in minority communities. happening today. state emergency officials will test out a new wireless earthquake alert system in oakland. later this morning ... about 40-thousand people within a 60 -square block radius of the downtown area west of lake merritt ... will receive an earthquake 'shake alert' on their cell phones. the system uses data from hundreds of sensors across california, oregon and washington. the shake alert system can trace and track seismic waves underground ... and then warn people as much as a minute before the actual shaking starts. < "...the part we really need to know more about is the delivery side. once that alert is published, what happens between then and the time it gets to you and your cell phone...or whatever device it might be">( james ) (ááálanding tagááá) by sending out an alert before an earthquake starts ... officials can slow down trains, close valves on underground water and gas pi

breaking news... just into the kron 4 newsroom... vanden high school in faifield has canceled classes today because of a threat. district officials and police are investigating the threat. all other schools in the district will remain open. school is expected to resume tomorrow. police have not commented on the nature of the threat. we have a crew on the way to fairfield to gather more information. parking. the ban applies to city streets between two and five in the morning. and went into effect immediately. the city council did owners tw week exemptions. people against the ban showed up to the meeting saying the only housing they can afford is living in an r-v or in a car. but the city council says the all those people parking in recreational vehicles have caused a shortage of parking for residents and also a health issue. many people at the meeting were hoping the city would find these people alternative housing before the ban went into effect, but that did not happen. ( will ) there's a leadership change within the dublin unified school district... now that leslie boozer is no longer superintendent.( james ) the announcment was made last night... and it comes as teachers prepare to go on strike... if a new deal isn't reach with the district.

a pre-school in san francisco is preparing to close its doors after more than 55 years. the high cost of renting space in the city is why the forest hill christian church pre- school is shutting down. the pre-school had been renting space from it's landlord -- the forest hill christian church next door. the lease is up at the end of july. but the school will close in may. with the end of the school year in sight ... parents are stressed out... they looking for the next school to take in their children. the church had plans to tear down the school property and parking lot, replacing it with a senior living complex. b the church' plans moving forward are unclear, it forced the pre-

( james ) in this morning's celebration of women....we are excited to profile a woman whose life and career set an example of tenacity and perseverance ... for all women during this womens history month. ( will ) kron 4's pam moore talked with the bay area's own broadcasting legend belva davis .. who spent many of her journalism years here at kron. "women in american today are making history so fast that i think they cant even keep up with how much progress they're making because it's all over the world." - belva davis was the first woman of color to work as a television news reporter on the west coast of the united states."when i started in the business i was often asked to leave news conferences" in her five decades in the bay area news market working at three major television stations .. black radio and black newspaper ... she took on a lot of the early "knocks" for her gender and for her race.."i worked with

"these are the receivers of the toil.. i hope they know it.. there were many women who have given up so much..fought so many battles to achieve the degree of success of ability" she has particular pride in the bay area women in positions of power.. some are her contemporaries like senator dianne feinstein .. others younger ..'i tell ya.. i am so proud of the women in this area" they now see the and i think there's nothing that can make you happier than

high school in faifield has canceled classes today because of a thatsara stinson is joinin now live with more.

earlier today our staff was made aware of a threat of violence at vanden high school. in cooperation with fairfield police department, we began an investigation to determine the origin of the threat. the investigation is still underway and we are not certain of the credibility of the threat. out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of our students and staff; however, we have decided to cancel school and all school activities tomorrow, at vanden high school only on wednesday, march 27. all other school sites will remain open.the
