little bit of moisture out of it, definitely. if you look right now, we'll get the map up first, but when you look at the map, down in the southern, southeastern corner of the map, you will see that moisture is starting to gather down there. could we see the map? there we go. down by el paso, you see the moisture starting to pick up there. that is moisture from the south that is being brought in bye- ts guy, right here, 60 miles an hour winds, a tropical storm down south of us. a lot of moisture wrapped around that particular tropical storm, and when you take a look at the forecast for where it's going to end up, we have a lot of different models here, a lot of different companies put out models on that. there is one, as you can see, that takes it just south of yuma, so that would be a situation that would be interesting. what we are looking at, though, is how much moisture is being pushed up in front of this
on that. in fact, take a look at this. as you can see, that moisture just kind of working its way northward, just kind of slowly, slowly on its way here, and with that in mind, that, of course, prompted this, and this is a flash flood watch for just about the entire state, that area north of the rim is the only part that doesn't have a flash flood watch on it. we'll take a closer look at our weather, take a look at what's going on and what the temperatures were today. that's coming up. >> all right, dave, now back to that developing story tonight of three people trapped in a grain silo, that lo lack of oxygen in the silo left one dead, two others in the hospital. it's located in north phoenix right near the carefree highway and third avenue in phoenix. let's go live now to kristy siefkin who is on the scene. kristy, what can you tell us about what happened out there? >> reporter: mark it's obviously
particularly those with animals, their veterinarian going underground today where he kept the animal feed, and then he never came out today. the 61-year-old stored his grain for his animals about 20 feet underground in a storage area, and apparently from all of the rain that we have seen, all of the water that had run off, he was going down into the silo to try to pump some of that out, and phoenix fire explained to us that when that grain interacts with the moisture, it actually becomes an environment, the oxygen level dropping down to about 4%. and the brain can only function without that oxygen for about four minutes, so at the time that we arrived on the scene this evening, a hazmat crew had come in. they were heading down to the silo, because not only had the veterinarian gone down there, two other men had gone in after him, attempting to help him, both of them becoming unconscious as well once they got down into that oxygen-depleted environment.
addition to some neighbors, earlier and here's what they had to say. >> once they go below ground and it's already an oxygen deficient atmosphere, co2 replaces oxygen and then it causes you to go unconscious immediately. it's kind of the calls when we talk about co2, we go to mcdonald's when they store soda and co2 tanks, it's the same kind of environment. >> he's served everybody in this area for years. ours for 25-plus years. >> reporter: mcso confirming for us the names of the two other men who also went down into the silo today. juan pablo garcia and 33-year-old christian solagi, both last we were told in extremely critical condition at a local hospital. the neighbors in this area absolutely loved the doctor. they had nothing but wonderful
giving, generous man he was, and how a lot of the grain that he kept in his property was to give to local families who couldn't afford it on their own. reporting live, i'm kristy siefkin, fox 10 news. well, the experts weigh in on how much the average valley worker makes a week, so how does your paycheck measure up? and when it comes to getting reelected, it turns out sheriff joe arpaio is quite the fundraiser. we'll tell you how much is in his war ch help. they are looking for this man, who shot and killed a 7-eleven store clerk early this morning. i'm nicole garcia. that story is coming up. and if you would like to find me on social media, it would be great to hear from you. you can find me on
