take a look-- this is where reno police responded --just after 7 o clock tonight-- on a report of a shooting on the 27 hundred block of kietzke lane. that's where amanda ketchledge joins us live with the latest details. amanda-- landon-- police tape and cars are blocking this part of the ponderosa trailer park near yori park. because this is the parking lot where the man was shot. when police arrived on scene, they said they tried everything they could to save him. lt. scott shaw, rpd: "reno fire department as well as remsa worked on the victim for quite a while, but were unable to revive him. so at this time we are working on a homicide investigation." police are looking for a suspect but do not have a description at this time. and the identity of who the victim was, is also not being released. that's because police are still at this crime scene investigating....col lecting evidence and talking to neighbors who may have saw or

thanks mike. new tonight at 11.. some sad news to report out of heavenly ski resort-- where a skier has died in an accident. officials say 77-year-old kathryn strangman of wisconsin died from injuries sustained after hitting a tree yesterday morning. heavenly ski patrol responded and attempted performing advanced life support to the

the mountain and pronounced dead by the douglas county coroner's office. an autopsy is scheduled, as well as an investigation into the incident. the carson city sheriff's office has released renderings of an unidentified woman whose body was found last year near lone mountain cemetery. deputies say the woman was found wrapped in a sleeping bag on march 17th of last year-- along a walking trail near newridge and northridge drives. the autopsy revealed the woman had reddish-blonde hair.. and was between the ages of 42 and 71. the white woman was found wearing an adult diaper... white, size 7 asic shoes with purple lines.. and size 8 rings. they also found aristar glasses and partial top dentures. detectives believe she was buried for at least one month... up to 12 months. anyone with information is asked to contact detective sal acosta at 283-7855. turning to the crime beat.. the

helping residents, owners and managers of rental properties - to keep illegal activities to a minimum. it's part of the reno crime free multi-housing program - that shows how to make their properties more attractive to tenants and less-inviting for criminals. the reno police department offers this eight-hour class for free. it's required for any rental property with 40 units or more. complexes like the meadowood apartments have also completed the second phase -- working with police to improve the environmental design. things like landscaping, lighting, windows and security. lopez "the crime affects not just the police, it affects everyone in the community. so, by working together, we can try to prevent and reduce some of the crime." managers of this apartment complex say they have seen quite an improvement since they started the program. officers say a safer neighborhood improves demand and creates a more stable resident base, while lowering maintenance costs and increasing property values.

people have been arrested in california-- suspected in a murder that happened last month. yesterday police arrested 18- year-old tristen batten in vallejo... and then this morning 20-year- old harvest davidson was arrested in sacramento. both have been charged with open murder related to the death of dennis wright junior, who police say was shot and killed outside the beverly lodge in south lake tahoe on january 30th while trying to sell marijuana. police believe more arrests are likely as the investigation continues. a federal grand jury in nevada has indicted cliven bundy and four others on charges related to an armed standoff near his ranch in 2014 - over unpaid grazing fees. the 69-year-old rancher was arrested last wednesday in oregon-- where his sons, ammon and ryan bundy, are jailed and accused of organizing the occupation of a national wildlife refuge. ammon and ryan bundy, along with ryan payne and peter santilli, were also indicted today. along with cliven.. they face 16

and 17 percent favor ted cruz. ben carson... john kasich and jeb bush all polled in the single digits. republican presidential candidates are criss-crossing south carolina today ahead of saturday's primary there. donald trump has a two-to-one lead nationwide over the second-place candidate marco rubio in the latest quinnipiac poll. but today rubio captured the state's top endorsement-- south carolina governor nikki haley. frontrunner donald trump took aim at ted cruz. calling his campaign in iowa a "disgrace." cruz is fighting back with an ad featuring the tycoon's own words: trump: "i am pro-choice in every respect..." cruz says trump's lawyers sent a cease-and-desist order and threatened to sue him, calling the ad 'defamatory." meanwhile jeb bush is polling near the bottom of the gop pool. he's holding a series of town hall meetings to try to gain more voters. and with just a few days to go

looking to our community.. doors to recovery and its parent company transforming youth recovery are dedicated to with drug addiction in northern nevada . now, a donation from a local church has allowed them to offer a long-term solution for young women ages 18 to 25. andi ' julia says "and as you can see, it's a mess, but it's gonna be beautiful in a month" julia picetti is giving us tour of a house she's helping remodel.

this reno tract home will soon be transformed into the jane aubrey house...name after julia's daughter who died of a drug over dose less than one year ago. julia "...uhm, it's hard to process, but i'm thankful and grateful and i'm honored, i'm honored to be honoring her and just know that the jane aubrey house is gonna be helping young women " young, northern nevada women who are turning their lives around and recovering from drug addiction. the residential program is run through doors to recovery. cricket dundas "they are currently clients of a diversion court with the second judicial district court" the purchase of the house was made possible through a huge donation from grace church in north reno, where julia picetti has been a member for years. in less than two months, through thousands of individual donations, grace church raised more than three hundred and sixty thousand dollars. julia "grace church has really wrapped its arms around me and has really carried me

"now, here's sports director garrett dearborn, with channel 2 sports" the wolf pack men's basketball team was looking for a season high 3rd straight win tonight at san jose state. -nevada was actually down 11 early in the second in this one but things start to tighten up, down 4 its cameron oliver with the -then down 5 with 5-minutes left a little history, marqueze coleman had 15 points in this one...he sinks the freethrow....that' s career point number 1- thousand...just the 25th player in pack history to do it. -the monster play came tied at 53's with a little over 2-minutes left, oliver steals the inbounds and takes it the other way to put the

reoubnds and 2 steals... -and up 4 with under 10-seconds left, the pack seals the deal up to dj fenner....he had a game high 16 and nevada wins 61-55. by the way the pack is now 16-9 overall and 8-5 in conference play tying them for 3rd in the mountain west...nevada is at unlv saturday the pack women were hosting the spartans... as they were looking for an upset of the 4th place team in the conference. 1. but nevada got off to a slow start... down 9... kelsey kaelin goes to the hoop gets the basket plus the foul but she missed free throw so its a seven point game... 2. moments later its stephanie schmid spotting up from beyond the arc and her three is nothing but net... she led nevada with 14... the wolf pack led by three at the half... but a poor second half cost them as san jose state wins 76-63. the division one north basketball boys tournament tipped things off

dallas colodny was out and about and joins us live with the action, dallas. yea garrett it is playoff time... coming into the night, there were 8 boys teams left vying for the division 1 north title... that number now is 4... lets get to the highlights. douglas making the trip up to the biggest little city to face the high desert league champs reno... 1. huskies got off to a fast start... alex tsaniff with the steal and he will take it all the way himself for the layup... huskies up 4-0... 2. a little later its an 8-0 lead... david kyle will kick it out to a wide open drew rippingham from the corner and he burries the three... that makes it 11-0 huskies and that 11-0 start proved to be the difference in this one as the huskies advance winning 67-56. down to south reno for bishop manogue and mcqueen... 1. the game of basketball is just so much easier when you are 6 foot 11... as is mcqueen's octavian corely... misses the first shot... but just reaches over everybody and puts it back

2. miners looking for a little momentum as the time is running out before the half and gabe banseulo fires one up from down town and he beats the buzzer... but it was all lancers in this one as they pull the upset... 62-45. as for the other two games the carson senators remain perfect against the state of nevada as spanish springs 63-50... zach williams had 20 points and moses wood 19 points. so here is a look at the semifinal bracket... these games will be played on friday at spanish springs high school... reno will take on mcqueen at both matchups but galena came within 2 points of beating the senators a couple weeks ago... the girls semifinals will be the wolf pack swimming and diving team has its first conference title from the mountain west championships being held in college station, texas. freshman sharae zheng one the 1- meter title today scoring 334.5
