save city college of san francisco, right now a judge is hearing arguments on whether to block the school from receiving its accreditation, tara moriarty has been there and joins us with the latest. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon, the courtrooms and hallways are absolutely packed this afternoon, dozens of students and others waiting to hear if they will have school, but they will probably not know this afternoon, things got off to a slow start there and no cameras were allowed in the courtroom and the judge will have a two- pronged decision, the first will be to issue an injunction against city college's loss of accreditation. >> they have spent thousands and thousands of dollars complying with the commission's

unreasonable demands, even though they are unreasonable we did it because with knew they would shut us down even if we did everything we could. >> he filed the lawsuit challenging that which ordered the college to do that. that would be the death of it. at the crux of the argument it was riddled with financial problems and didn't comply with its mission statement. city college fired back saying the attempt to derail the city college is politically motivated, no one knows how long it is going to drag out and then the judge is going to hear more arguments december 30th about whether to keep it open during the trial. tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> the school districts are getting ready to for the new

huge forest fire this month in the big sur area of montgomery county, the fire is out but firefighters are still patrolling the area. they are concerned the warm temperatures could cause flare- ups, the fire burned 34 homes and 900 acres of land. all of the people evacuated are back home now. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. a brush fire in southern california came dangerously close to a highway. the fire started late yesterday in simi valley near the 118 freeway, while it only burned 18 acres you can see the intensity of the fire spread by gusty winds and firefighters used the resources to make sure it didn't get out of hand. thousands still don't have power in those areas after that storm and it could be a long

the number of americans filing first time claims for unemployment benefits took an unexpectedly large drop that is helping to boost stock, while it follows claims the level remains solid, twitter continues its rally up 3.5%, taking a look at the big board the dow is up 21 and s & p up 8. the ups and fed ex will be making deliveries tomorrow, they said they did not deliver them all due to stormy weather and delivery problems, but some customers said late deliveries will not stop them from ordering it on-line next year. >> i know i will get it
