. this is ktvu fox news mornings on two, weekend. good morning to you, it's windy and wet outside. welcome to mongs on two, it's saturday, november 19th. we have a rainy weekend ahead. first our top story out of vallejo. two teenagers are out of the hospital. they were hurt in a crash that started with a carjacking. the story starts in frair field and ends in vallejo. we have more on that story coming up. first, lets go outside. >> right now, i do not think
that there is any rain, but it's coming, if you are going to the cal stanford game, bring an umbrella. there is no service on the bart train because of a power outage. lets go outside to a wet golden gate bridge. drivers have their headlights on, it's going to be one of these wet and windy mornings. i am looking at the california highway patrol advisories, they are advisories on the san mateo bridge and the golden gate bridge. it was windy. a lot of wind out there, we will look at the winds. santa rosa has already picked
up an inch of rain. here's another view of the richmond san mateo approach. it looks like it's partly sunny out there right now. but the rain is coming. if we move in close, on the radar, you can see the rain heading from the coast to our inland locations. it's in san rafael, crossing the richmond san rafael bridge and now it's in areas of san francisco along the coast line stretching towards pacifica and south san francisco, this is going to continue to move through the bay area as we move through the morning hours. we are also talking about the
wind. very breezy in spots. the southeasterly breeze is going as high as 20 miles per hour. it's breezy gusty in areas around san jose too where breezes are at 30 miles per hour. it's wet and windy for the morning. the rain will taper off later. we have a snow advisory in the sierras as well. all that it coming up. police telling us that investigators are looking at surveillance cameras to investigate a shooting last night. one man was killed. the other victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. 10 bullet holes could be seen on a home near the shooting.
>> shooting. we are following a story out of vallejo, a carjacking ended in a crash. officers saw a car that had been reported stolen in a carjacking in fairfield yesterday. they tried to pull over the car, the driver lost control and the 19 year old driver and his 18 year old passenger had to be taken out of the car. there are conscientious this morning about what people call a winter wonder land could be harmful. >> they said, you should drive through, so we did it. >> did you worry this might be toxic. >> they said no.
>> the man drove his bike through the foam, despite being told it was not toxic. but firefighters say it's an environmental hazard. the foam spilled out after a fire suppression system went off at the men -- mineta san jose airport. there is no word yet on if the company that owns the hanger is going to face fines. a fire department spokesman said he did not think there was going to be a long term impact. a medical aircraft crashes
in elko nevada, the plane was flying from the elko airport to utah. the faa is look being into what caused a small plane to crash into a home in san mateo. it happened at 11:20 yesterday morning. the plane left sacramento airport and was heading to half moon bay airport. the pilot missed the runway and it plane clipped the roof of a home. the family was not at home at the time of the crash, a wen zero wngs said he thought the plane would explode.
>> a car was charging. i heard a noise, it was strange. it was like crunching metal. it sounded like a car werk. >> the pilot was air lifted to the hospital with serious injuries. nobody on the ground was injured. it's the biggest fight of his career and the bay area will be cheer on andre ward. >> the two-time champion of the world, andre ward. >> he squares off for the heavyweight world championship. they both weighed in yesterday.

year. colin kaepernick is releasing the names of the charities that will get donations from his charity. the donations stem from his protest during the national anthem. jeff's cause will receive $25,000. groups in dallas, new york and chicago are also getting donations. >> car lovers are in luck this weekend. the san francisco international auto show starts today. they have everything from luxury rides to hybrids on display. we are checking it out. >> reporter: we are going to give you exclusive back stage passes to look at the
international auto show. we have chris dunlap working on a toyota. this is one of the fun things you can see at the show. this car is being customized. we are also talking about the new toyota. this is a hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. >> yes, what it does, it is an electric vehicle but it replaces the on board battery with a fuel cell. it takes hydrogen from a tank and oxygen from the environment and that drives the vehicle down the road. >> reporter: so this is as clean as it gets. >> there are no ee megses. one of the benefits over the

central and south bay, lets talk about the winter weather advisory, it's above 5,000 feet along blue canyon, snow, 5 inches or so. the higher elevations will pickup a foot of snow, that's good news. as we roll through the 9:00 hour, the system is moving slowly. it could be delayed. we are looking at noontime here. we are starting to see breaks in the rain. then the afternoon continues with the breaks. on and off rain throughout the day. sunday morning, more rain, as we get into the afternoon, it tapers off but it does not go away completely. we will have a look at the
rainfall amount. half an inch to an inch and a half expected over the north bay, the pills could see two and a half inches. it's mild out there. upper 50s to lower 60s. for the afternoon, lower 60s. the temperatures are not moving a lot. 63 the high for oakland and mountain view. san how say, 63. temperatures will be changing -- san jose, 63, temperatures will be changing changing later in the week. wet and unsettled weather in the forecast for the holidays. >> that's okay. it's a good day to watch football. hang out inside. for those people heading to the

locations, into lake county by clear lake. santa rosa, a steady rain has been falling. we have some rain around daily city and ocean beach. as we get into the east bay, oakland is still dry. as we get through the next few hours, the rain is not steady all day long. it's a morning event and then we have scattered showers and wednesday for the second half of the day. look, hayward gusts of 20 fef miles per hour. san jose, dpufting to 30. wet and windy in some areas, dry and windy in others. also we have snow in the sierras to talk about, that's coming up. new this morning, mike pence went to see a broadway show and got boos from the crowd and a strong message from

county history. it turn out was 75%. under state law, the county has until december eighth to certify their election results. students at an east bay high school are voicing concerns after another racist graffiti incident happened. it's the fourth time that the graffiti has been found at the school. >> someone is going out of their way to write hate on the bathroom, during class, that's crazy. >> everyone wants to talk, administration is saying, later, it needs to be addressed now.
>> the san ramon is also looking at racest graffiti. they are organizing a committee to address such cases. a scam or a misunderstanding. there is a dispute over a crab festival, but it's being called off. the group, captain crab, was supposed to host the event but the meal was promoted online for weeks, the lodge manager said captain crab's check to reserve the facility, bounced. a richmond woman paid $100 for two tickets. >> i just want my money back, i do not think it's going to happen. i tried to use my credit card, they said they were accepting cash. that should have been a red

inch in the last six to eight hours. it's widespread from areas like lake county to san rafael, the richmond san rafael bridge, the golden great bridge. ocean beach and the east edge and down along pacifica. if you move into the sierras, there is an advisory in place. if you are going up to the mountains, snow levels are dropping to 4,000 feet. there is a winter weather advisory at 5,000 feet. i can see snow over the next 24 hours. for the weekend here, half an inch to an inch of rain for many of us. two and a half for the wetter spots in the north bay and the coastal hills.
the winds are breezy, gusts at 35 miles per hour. san jose, 30 degrees. the rain is coming, we could see quite a bit of snow for the sierras. we are stuck in the lower 60s for the whole day, right now, 58 san francisco. lower 60s in hayward. afternoon looks like this, morning rain breaking away to scattered showers for the second half. 61 in san francisco. 63 in hayward. livermore and north bay, 61. south bay, lower 60s as well. keep the umbrella handy. scattered showers in the forecast for saturday afternoon, saturday night, sunday. we dry out monday. then wednesday, another chance of rain for the bay area.

this is ktvu fox news mornings on two, weekend. good morning. it's saturday, november ninth. if you are seeing some whipped and rain, that's the way it is on this saturday. you are not alone. good morning, we have a rainy weekend ahead. we have the fakeer coming up, first, a couple of headlines to share with you, we want to talk about this foam that spread out like a football field yesterday in the south bay, we show you the man riding through the foam. he told the reporters he was told it was not toxic but today we learn that there are environmental concerns about the foam. >> also the big game, stanford is favored to beat cal by about 10 points. they are on a roll.
cal is limping in. they have to win their last two to have a shot at a bowl game. but anything can happen. when they have to win two games, i do not know. >> you of little faith. >> lets look outside. if you are heading in from marin, bring in an umbrella. the north bay is under a sheet of rain. a couple of people ventured out. they have their wipers on and their headlights going. you said this was a morning like that. >> it's not going away completely. we are on and off for the rain saturday and sunday. this morning is the widespread steady rain that is going to sweep through the bay area. it's been in the north bay for several hours. i see it across the richmond san rafael bridge.
we have wind along with the storm. this is storm tracker two, you get an idea of where the moisture is. it's mamping across the central and south base through the morning. widespread from areas along the coast in santa rosa, highway 101 is wet, napa into fairfield and all the way into the central valley. here tomorrow, the central and south bay is dry right now. we showed you the richmond san rafael bridge. it's getting a bit. we shift to san francisco, the sunset district, it's continuing to move south obvious the rest of the morning. but the central and south bay dry right now. winds as high as 30 miles per
hour. san jose, breezy at 31 miles per hour for the gusts. the winds calm down as we get into the afternoon. when the front passes, the rain and winds will lighten up. we are going to be cloudy and breezy and soggy for saturday and sunday. i have the details coming up. we have new information about a shooting in oakland that left one man dead and another jd. investigators are looking for a nearby surveillance camera that may have recorded the incident. officers received a report about the shooting before 9:15 last night. one man was killed, the other victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. as many as 10 bullet holes could be seen on a home near the shooting. right now the police do not have suspects or a motive.
we are following a story out of vallejo after a carjacking ended in a crash this morning. police said officers saw a car that had been reported stolen in a carjacking in fairfield yesterday. they trialed to pull the car over and the driver took off and lost control and crashed into a cement wall. the 19 year old driver and 18 year old passenger had to be taken from the car, they are suffering from serious injuries. police found a replica gun inside of their car. there are concerns that morning that what some called a winter wonder land could be harmful. >> someone had to do it. we rode through. >> did you worry it might be toxic? >> they said it's not toxic. you just wash it off when you are done. >> he did go right through the
foam. it was as deep as 10 feet. despite being told it was not toxic, firefighters said it's a potential virmt environmental hazard. it spilled out into the read after the fire suppression system went off in a hanger at the airport. kreenup krows had to use a defoam being agent -- cleanup crews had to use a defoaming agent. >> we do not wait, we clen it up as fast as we can. >> there is no word on if the company that own the hanger is going to face fines. the fire department said they did not think there was any long term impact.
a medical transport plane crashes in nevada killing all four people aboard including a patient. it happened this elko nevada -- in elko nevada. it crashed with a patient with heart disease and a pilot onboard. nobody survived. >> the faa is look being to figure out what caused a crash into a home in san mateo valley. the plane was on its way to half moon bay airport. the pilot missed the runway, when the plane came down, it clipped the roof of a home and damaged a utility truck and crashed into the garage. the family was not at home. a witness said he thought the
plane would explode. >> i saw the electricity from the house. there was a car with a charger on it. >> i heard a noise which i know was the wreck. it was strange. it sounded like a car wreck but it was longer than a car wreck would be. >> the pilot suffered serious injuries, nobody on the ground was injured. a settlement in the case of a police officer shot in 2014 by a fellow officer. the settlement includes extra training for bart officers that request it. state officials saying california's jobless rate has stayed steady for four months

compost. we show you how to take care of everything on your talkery day. >> we are good about bottles and cans but when it comes to food waste, we are not good with that. >> a simple rule of thumb, when it comes to composting, if it was once alive, it could be composted. between thanksgiving and christmas, people produce 25% more waste than during the rest of the year. this table represents a waste free thanksgiving. lets talk turkey. the left overs, you can find a home for the carcass. it all goes into your compost pail. you can rewash the tray and use it next year.
as you are baking your pie, the shells go into the compost. >> you have to take apart of pie? >> you serve it to yourself, your last piece for the day, then take your paper towels and wipe it into your kitchen pail. recycle and reuse the paper towels in your compost. >> what do you say to people that say, i do not have the time, i will just throw it out. >> it's easy. use reusable plates. just get used to doing it and it's second nature. >> you have the fine china, bring it out and use it. >> absolutely, you if do not go with the china, do a plain white paper plate and put it in

. good morning bay area, thank you for joining us on this soggy saturday. rain on the lens, it's slick out there, it's breezy. we tracking the rain and whipped and talk about what you can expect for the weekend. if there is one thing that you have to get right on thanksgiving, it's the turkey. we are live with a fool proof method for cooking the perfect bird. the idea is, you have to buy your bird now. >> it needs some time. nothing is worse than a hard turkey on thanksgiving morning. what are you putting in here. >> this is a cranberry sauce.
we have apples and orange zest and sugar. stir that for me. >> okay. >> i am going to butterfly it and brine it. it's not hard. i am going to demonstrate it. the reason why we butterfly it, we are going to take the back out and open it up. that makes it cook in half the time. >> we talked about this. there are so many different ways to cook a turkey. >> what is great about this one, with a regular turkey, people stuff it, it's an insulated ball. it ticks five to six hours to cook. this is like the reverse of that. it's a bit of a struggle, you pick out the turkey and you are cutting out the backbone. use any kind of a knife.
watch your fingers. it's a struggle, it took me about a minute, here we go. >> stirring. we get the sauce here. scrub it in. okay. when you take out the center and open it up, it's easier and faster. we are going to lay it flat on the balking pan. i know this is dramatic. if you have trouble, you want to bend it and see where the movement is. that's where you are going to cut through, that's intense. it's exciting. i might just give up. there you go, you got it. then you just open it here and right down the middle, that opens it up a but. >> this is why i am stirring. >> then you can use like a huge
zip lock bag, put it in there. then we are going to brine it, i have some brine we made up earlier. the ingredients are salt and sugar and garlics and onions and herbs and bandy. the brining keeps the turkey juicy, the salt and the sugar, sort of open up the cells and they take in the liquid and is seasons the turkey then when you kok it, it does not dry out as much of the -- cook it, it does not dry out as much. so i put it in this cooler here rather than in my refrigerator.
the morning of thanksgiving, you want to pull out the turkey, giver it a couple of hours. drain out the brine, you can rinse it or not. let it warm up. put it in a 400-degree oven, 1012 minutes a pound. usually it's 20 minutes a pound. this is the finished product. i have to take these off. >> perfect, can i take this away. >> yes. lets turn this off. frank. check this out. >> okay. good. congratulations, you did it. lets taste. i will move you here. you are running from the cameras, we do not like that on tv. >> do you like dark meat or white. >> i like all of it. how did i do on my sturg? >> great, you just want to cook
the sauce until the cranberries pop. we have some of this. quickly, is there a way to mess it up. >> do not overcook it. people are afraid of food poisons, but as long as the turkey is 160 and the breast meat is less than that, you are fine. >> the cranberries are delicious. >> i will demonstrate how to break it apart. if i had a cutting board, i would put the pieces here. people keep the legs whole. >> that's a great idea. >> it's easy, it does not take that long. you can get brining recipes
