including a war of words between ted cruz and marco rubio... later in the newscast. a man arrested.... after a shooting near the strip leaves two women dead friday. fox5's les krifaton is in our newsroom with more on the murder suspect. this afternoon metro released the arrest report talley. talley is a local who attended palo verde high school and according to his facebook page studied at college of southern nevada. talley's latest mugshot. according to the arrest report talley started fighting with another man on the thrid floor of the parking garage at the

morning. that fight was broken up by security. talley left in a toyota camry, the other man jerraud jackson left with the two women in a hyundai. the two vehciles arrived near the garage exit at the same time. that's when talley got out of his car and pointed a gun at the woman driver of the other vehicle. she took off talley followed. a few minutes laters shots were fired nearby at harmon and alderbaran. when police arrived they found the body of a woman on the road. nearby at the cosmopolitan's valet the hyundai pulled up with the two occupants inside suffering gunshot wounds. the two women died form their wounds jackson who is form the bay areasurvived. the women have been identified at 27 year old melissa yvette mendoza and 27 year old jennifer margarita chicas both from california. talley first told police that he was drunk and stoned and didn't drive to the strip. when he was shown the vidoe survillance of him pointing a gun at the woman driver of the hyundai he said that was a bb gun.

police having served time for pandering and abuse along with neglect or endangerment of a child. talley will be in court on wednesday morning. tonight we have an update on the power outage that left hundreds of westgate casino and hotel guests in the dark. fox 5's ophelia young is at the clark county department of building and fire prevention - and ophelia last week we heard it was an electrical fire. and today i've found out it some moisture leaked into a transformer and caused some corrosion. thats what happened according to fire inspectors here. at eleven forty last thursday clark county fire fighters rushed to the westgate for reports of smoke from a transformer. the assistant director here tells me they have a resort inspection program in which crews routinely go to every hotel to make sure things are up to regulations.

examined this transformer before but had not found problems. last thursday night however, fire responders found water in that area of the hotel. "this one had a little bit of corrosion to it a little bit of wetness in there from a leakage in and round the area - leakage of water - fluids." after putting out the smoke - palmer says fire personel found corrosion to the wires and mechanical parts. it took technicians 12 hours to replace the transformer. power was restored to the first part of the casino at 1:30 - alarm and waking up sleeping guests. by mid day friday - each section of returned to normal. spoke with guests on a slot machine when dark and here is an update money back: of the 4 ive kept in touch with 2 have gotten reimbursed - another two were told they would not get their cash and by the way when it happened - guests tell me westgate told them they werent guaranteed a

ahead. live in las vegas fox5 news at 6 starts now. police are investigating the discovery of a woman found inside a popular downtown casino-hotel's laundry chute. learning more about the man accused of killing two women near the strip last week.. how police believe the shooting happened .. and

this is fox5 news at 6. local. las vegas this is fox5 news at 6. local. las vegas found dead inside a downtown casino laundry chute.. it's the suspicious death metro police are trying to figure out tonight. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. it was early sunday morning when someone found the woman's body in the chute at the d las vegas. police say when they were called shortly after 2:30 yesterday morning, they were told the woman fell down the chute.. but after homicide detectives looked at the scene .. police now say it's suspicious .. but have yet to say they think someone killed her. late tis afternoon, the coroner identified her as 26-year old kalli medina- brown of citrus heaights, california .. this is a suburb of sacramento. at this time there is no cause for her death .. and metro is continuing it's investigation.
