display, new years eve, 2014 lead nothing to 2015 and is there nothing like this to get you in the mood for the new year. it really does bring tonight perfectly. such a beautiful sight to see. we have a big crowd down here and the fire works definitely up the excitement factor no doubt bit. kathy orr is down with the crowd hoist watching right now, let's go down to the kathy. >> a spectacular view from the ice on this clear night with light wind. i have the family with me from new jersey. you guys came last year, what do you think about it this year. >> it is pretty good. >> pretty good. do you like the the music. >> yes just as good as last year. >> what do you think katie. >> really cool. >> mom, is this a family tradition. >> absolutely every year. >> everything new you can get cozy inside in the lodge this year. >> and make smores. >> it makes a big difference. over here these guys are having a great time, do you like these fire works. >> yeah. >> this is my daughter who came for fire works what do you think pretty nice.
>> yes good what do you think. >> awesome it is awesome. >> it is great to be outdoors and to dress appropriately coming down later. take a look at the temperatures in philadelphia we are around freezing. colder to the north. snow making weather in the poconos. if you are going out this evening, temperatures will be in the 30's. we will be seeing wind that are light and in the 20's. so bundle up. lets take another look at this spectacular view as fire works display continues here at penns landing. >> kathy, it looks wonderful out there. you take one look at those fire works and see just how magnificent they are and you quickly realize that didn't just come together on its own. it took a lot of planning hard work for many, many people. our justin finch got a look at just what it took to put this all together and he joins us now live as well hi justin. >> reporter: hi there jessica. i have to hold my ear just to hear you underneath all of these fire works.
we have seen these go on for past couple of minutes a lot of people here at river rink watching very closely that is show goes off but as you mentioned this takes a lot of work to pull off and a lot of people looking forward to it every year. i just met a couple who make the fire works part of their wedding, lets take a look. fort or some couples at sunset on their wedding night might be fire works enough unless you are soon to be mr. and mrs. hand again. >> it could be anywhere in the city right now, why here tonight. >> it is perfect. >> we love philadelphia fire works, new years eve great. >> reporter: off they went to watch fire works before a they tied the knot. this is the the show, before the the show a complicated network of 4,000 devices all shelled and wiring spread over two barges at the navy yard. the it is all over seen by ken firstoff of the crew behind the fire works. >> this is the center position. everything is going straight up here. the position number one down
there by the tug, shoots out at an angle there we have got positions three in back of us here and that shoots out the other angle. that will give us a full sky of effects. >> reporter: effects set to music and controlled by computers for two new years show. cristina jenkins blogger for fail's events blog you wish you knew said, to expect to be woed. >> there is so many different kind of people to see fire works and going all the the time but pyrotechnics over the delaware river are incredible. >> reporter: not only inn chris bible also show stopping. people stopping in their tracks to watch these fire works. this has been the scene since 6:00 sharp. and if you are wondering how they he pull off all of it this is a combination of gps technology as well as computers. everything being operated from a main base just down the river here. we are live here at the river rink i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". all right, the science

side of his body and he has under gone more than 30 surgeries and the person who fired that bullet was never a ted. is there breaking news tonight there, is word of a possible measles exposure in delaware and philadelphia counties. "eyewitness news" has learned that a child who went to premium urgent care, on conestoga road in villanova last night may have been exposed to measles before coming to this country. now the virus has not been confirmed, by blood department of health hoist hanger people to the pollution touch museum and cvs at east lancaster avenue in wayne during dates and time on your screen to take action because they may have been exposed. well, a deadly police involve shooting is still under investigation tonight. authorities say that an officer shot and killed an armed man during a traffic stop last night. this happened at intersection

than 15 feet a waste and he heard an officer say the name of the person in the car. >> did you hear what was said to him just before shots were fired. >> no, he just told him don't move, you know, he was going to kill him. in other news tonight there are new details emerge nothing a deadly police involved shooting in upper darby township. five officers opened fire on a man late yesterday afternoon, after they say he tried to run them down with his car. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry has more now on the investigation. >> within the next 12 hours 24 tops. >> reporter: five two-year old joe pa seen i made a chilling premonition in this you tube video p lee say pacini made threat monday after half forward police were called to this l.a. fitness. employees there say a he was acting unrulely. pacini had a history of mental illness and had been arrested in 2005.
he made this threat to police later that day. >> but by tuesday police had an arrest warrant for pacini for making threats against police on you tube. when police showed up to his clifton heights apartment he got around them and started trying toward drexel hill. police officers from clifton heights, haverford township and upper darby followed pacini to garrett road and shadeland avenue. pacini reversed his car, ran the the clifton heights police chief's cruiser and missed several office are. >> police then. i believe there was approximately 22 shots fired. >> reporter: pacini was hit at least three times. delaware county district attorney jack whale even says although pacini was unarmed the car he was driving was a weapon. >> cutting the wheel to try to hit additional officers.

here in philadelphia sunday will be mild, and pathway parkas that you have had to break back out here this week, and bring the rain jacket, back out because it will be in the mid 50's but raining all day on sunday. so heading through the rest of the overnight hours, heading down for fire works, they will be up early tomorrow morning. temperatures will certainly be in the 20's. 24 degrees will be our overnight low tonight which is below average. cold night for us and then tomorrow, a sunny new year, breezy and cold. 39 degrees. that is a couple degrees below average but we are right now in the coldest part of the year here in philadelphia, right into mid-january is when temperatures average right around the 38 to 40-degree mark. so, it is not that far off the man mark for a january thursday. 2015. it will take a while to get used to writing that on your checks 467893 degrees. 40 degrees. that rain will start to move in late, and then overnight saturday night and then unday is mild, with period of rain storm clears out quickly and we will start next week and get back to reality but it will be chilly. thirty-eight monday. forty tuesday. colder again, by next wednesday. stay there we will seven more
