gov corporate media is hyping up a potential nuclear war with north korea it's been seventy two years since nuclear weapons were first developed and dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki the destruction was so catastrophic that humans have not deployed them since but now some pundits are going as far as to promote a preemptive us military strike because diplomacy has continuously failed with north korea but that is because the only option presented to kim jong un and his father before him has been for them to give up their w m d's the nine hundred sixty eight international treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons prohibits countries from developing nuclear weapons however the united states france russia china and the united kingdom are exempt from these rules because they had already had these weapons prior to signing the treaty. therefore these countries are considered the world's only legal nuclear weapons states now several other nations
do have nuclear weapons like pakistan and india which have not signed the treaty israel would never admitting that most likely also has nuclear weapons more than two decades after the cold war these eight nuclear states in total still possess nearly fifteen thousand nuclear warheads diplomacy has continuously failed so wouldn't an international treaty banning everybody from possessing nuclear weapons and developing them be the best way moving forward. well in a perfect world yeah in a perfect world all the countries that have nuclear weapons would destroy them and get rid of them but unfortunately bruges we don't live in a perfect world do we. and how would you know if somebody actually did destroy all their nuclear weapons of the countries that has them what type of check do you.
could you do to ensure that because i'm sure the united states should include aid everybody would save a got rid of all their nucular weapons but i'm sure they'd have a few doors away for just such an occasion where they would feel we might need them now the problem one of the overlying problems is this and i hate to sound over and over again i'm not anti the united states of america i love my country but one of the things about our foreign policy we tend to bully countries that don't have nucular capabilities where countries that do have them we don't use bullying tactics on them show all these countries throughout the world they want to gain nucular power and nucular weapons so that they can relieve themselves of unjust united states foreign policy sometimes of bullying and pushing him around telling
them what government they should have there's a map and all the things that our country does internationally unfortunately it's based somewhat on who has the bomb and who don't have the bomb and again in a perfect world we'd all get rid of a vishwas or something that was designing the manhattan project that it turns out to be probably the most dangerous biggest headache mankind has ever seen or will ever see maybe. absolutely not north korea has also been thanks and many times and yet if the nuclear program keeps going on so do the things that really work and things like they don't. well do you know. better to always be talking than bombing you know all these three i get scared when my president tells the secretary of state you're. you're blowing smoke you're wasting
your time i have an alternative of what war war is an alternative people remember something and remember and well when war happens it's because politicians failed it did you hear me it's because they failed it that's why you have war when political politicians fail so if we end up going to war with north korea it's because our politicians failed and so did theirs why is it we won't talk directly to these people i understand he's a goof when you look at him but i write i come from the world to wrestling there's a lot of goofy looking people you sometimes have to work with but that aside talking you're still better than bombing why aren't we opening roads using china using russia combining all of our of our elements and talk to these people and get them to maybe see the errors of their way because once the trigger
is pulled there's no going back there and we should do everything we can possibly do to avoid war or not go into the realm of living it what's the end result we wipe north korea off the face of the earth then we'll all be happy well i won't be happy because many innocent people will be dead people who will die you know we just have this big shooting in vegas we'll stop and think how many people may die with nucular bombs so many in innocent people across the world it makes vegas kind of pale doesn't it yeah absolutely now things it doesn't look like global nuclear disarmament and going to happen any time because of these exemptions there is another case to be made in allowing kim jong un to keep his nuclear weapon. to fish. the u.s.
position that kim should abandon these weapons has only increased north korea's arsenal now up to sixty nuclear weapons in fact north korea's entire nuclear program is fueled by its fear of the united states now this fear dates back to the korean war of one nine hundred fifty at the time the u.s. intervened backing the south korea to this day american troops are still on the ground and present along the border between the north and south forever reminding kim that he needs to protect himself. gov can keep these new for survival as you said just look what happened to saddam hussein and get off it when they gave up their weapons of mass destruction. if they ever really have them or not you know we that's kind of an assumption we've all made that at some point they did have some type of weapon of mass destruction i'm not so sure about it especially in the case of iraq and if they were using weapons gas weapons and all that chances are they
got them from os you know they didn't make them themselves you know we we need to remember something especially in lieu of what's going on in los vegas and things like that you notice not a word has been said about the united states government who's the biggest weapons dealer in the world in the world we shall more weapons than anybody else absolutely now i haven't seen any evidence that would be the first to deploy a nuclear weapon do you agree that he would or that he wouldn't. well he scares me because he sure firing missiles all over the place and what do we need that for and he scares me because he's testing them underground now that's not good for anybody and i find it ironic there may be nothing to it but i found it ironic that he blew off a big nucular blast underground in north korea and it wasn't but a couple weeks later mexico city suffers this massive earthquake now i don't know
if there's a connection there or not but blowing off nucular bombs underground camps seem too good to me to do on a regular basis if you ever do it at all so he has to be stopped from his experimentation that could well harm the entire world and i know we're guilty of it too we did that showed it a lot of other nations but it's time for us to prevail with coup. more thoughts in this new killer obsession. all right we've got to cut to a quick break but when we return former congressman dr ron paul joins the governor for a deeper look at the military industrial complex. the war . yes.
mark twain said it's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been for that could be why america is so divided because people have been fed fake news paid for by corporate interests they beat you down until you believe their fairy tales well here's a story for you it's called big and it's for the facts not fiction. on larry king you're watching our t.v. america question and more. look you know loading legal street looks like the trails of interest would be analyzed ok but the bottom. line with the like you know i got.
the please. please please please look. look look. look look look the. look. rejected tonight is a comedy gold and not sang by the corporate media. would you go after the corporations that just more your live profit over people at every turn the attack it's not for me it's like medicine it's like the antidote for all the stress that the news puts you under redacted tonight is a show where you can go to cry from laughing about the stuff that's going on in the world as opposed to just regular crying we're going to find out what the corporate
mainstream media is not telling you about how we're going to filter it through some satirical comedic lenses to make it more digestible that's what we do every week hard hitting radical comedy news like redacted tonight is where it's a. place. to. play the war. machine. over the course of dr ron paul's political career he has served as a republican and libertarian while. dr paul and jesse have opposing views on many issues they're both members of a third party they've both served in the u.s. military and neither support foreign intervention and asked then they had a lot to talk about dr ron paul that is a hall facing you for joining me and
a subject i want to get with you on is one that i know is close to both of us and we really sit on the same side it's a simple subject cold war i was in mexico last winter when when they fired the rockets into syria and i came back to the country going did i miss something when did we allow the president to shoot what was it sixty rockets i forget the number into a nother sovereign nation without a declaration of war and the country applauded yeah wilson there's a lot of it and i thought what is going wrong with the united states of america when you have to have the congress vote to go to war and now we arbitrarily allow our president to we're move can fire in fifty rockets and says they're for peace and you should never see anybody in washington that allows a president to go to war in an unconstitutional fashion that they just march off
and start these wars and then they say we can't have dessert the troops there you're on a merry you don't care about freedom you know the national defense you know dr paul you and i both served in the military you as a doctor and me as a knuckle dragging frog man. i've never met or seen a rocket the does anything for peace or a weapon that you could honestly say well this is a peace weapon they only do one failing they kill and destroy so hot of the do this transition of getting people to believe that weapons equal peace yeah well there's a lot of lobbying for that sure and you know back in the seventies i can't remember which the tank was they were building these tanks who's going to invade us when we're going to have this you know tank war and it's all selling weapons and invasion you know at the latest one that really burned me was the new aircraft
carrier named after gerald ford for five billion how many billion dollar many billions of dollars and here's what got to me about a first of all he comes from the state of michigan right so we can build this forty five billion dollar aircraft carrier like we don't have enough of them while the people of flint are still drinking poisoned water. building this carrier was of a higher priority than giving people and gerald ford's own state clean and clear water and cleaning up flint michigan water if this crazy attitude toward north korea breaks out and there is hostilities even a guy like the one could probably take an aircraft carrier you know a good missile can do that you should have to have a nuke to do that and and look look at what they did in yemen a few years ago they took a ship out there. and just and that was just you know small bombs and to me it's
equated now what do we need ships going from c.d.c. all over the world supposedly defending our freedom here's another thing that offends me as a veteran and i'm a vietnam veteran when they tell me thank you for defending our freedom and i sit dr paul and i think wait a minute i wasn't alive in world war two so i'm from korea on there hasn't been one war in my lifetime where our freedom was in jeopardy now with them let me qualify that every war our freedoms are in jeopardy because they passed patriot act the danger is here i'll. i understand. we are as i heard is here at the war heard some cereal but again i hear trump the other day saying our pilots our sons are now flying the same jets that their father was well what's wrong with that if they work. why do they have to be upgraded if they work they still want to
have a dog fight. here i don't know but but all of this crazy military spending and then i look today right now we spend all this money on wars throughout the world we have two wars we need to fight right here at home it's called houston texas and florida that good just got devastated as bad as any war that's ever worse than anything that's ever hit the united. state's mainland right now it's just think of all the money we have spent. overseas since world war two ended if that money had been left in this country to let wealth grow i mean we would have forty four million people on food stamps we would have a dwindling middle class we would have the real unemployment rate much higher than they talk about because the labor participation rate shows that people aren't fully employed but wealth drains it's insanity if you think that war improves your
economic condition and it improves the conditions of the war manufacturers and then now all the wars are fought with this idea really that there's nothing the military can do in these wars to actually achieve victory. they don't know who the and they don't define the enemy they don't know where and so it's almost like and pitch a wars they're all because you can't you can't you can't go to the military today and say ok if you do point a and point b. we then can declare victory no and if you don't have an enemy and you have an opening to do much better with a country like russia we go out of our way to turn it upside down and say they're our enemy and we're at war and there will be a day that will come when our economy gets weaker in a dollars challenge and when we get we can those people we have offended they will
not be our close allies we are a sense that already people are starting to turn against us i said publicly as a veteran i hang my head that's terrible i hang my head and shame that we're now looked at as the united states is the country to fear no longer were the savior anymore we're now the devil the savior so you say so anyway dr i want to you very much it's always a pleasure to talk to you and as i told the people when i went to washington i knew there was one man i could count on out there and that's dr ron paul thank you. the world. yes all right we're almost out of time but before we go governor i've got some fan comments and questions for you now bennett hall says our so-called leaders possessed by incredibly logical blindness think violence is a method to resolve human conflict what do you say to that. well i figured violence
is not should not be used to solve any conflicts or if you can avoid it violence serves no good violence. performing violence just creates more violence violence leads to violence there's no doubt about it you can look at anything in life and understand that avoiding via. lunch is a good fairing all right creighton minister says they should bring back the three billion conservation corp first for the myriad of issues and able body on earth. what you think about that well that that's a nice thought you know it's it's social service it's you committing yourself to you know doing public service but again that s. to come from with fear and you can't force people to do things like that that's that's nationalism and it's force patriotism it should come from within you as an individual to want to contribute trust me it comes out a whole lot better that way than forcing people to do it in another manner. and
governor i'd love to hear your final thoughts about your friendship with dr paul how long have you guys known each other. well ron paul and i go back to you know ron's a republican i'm an independent we defer one place we do differ is on you know the abortion issue i believe that a woman has a choice dr paul believes in more restrictive but it doesn't mean we can't get along it doesn't mean we can't get things done you're never going to agree with someone ever one hundred percent we're human beings but i greatly respect ron paul and i'll tell you why when i did television shows or when i would go all to washington doing conspiracy theory and all that dr paul would always talk to me he didn't run and hide and i'll tell you what it came to talking about the federal reserve and the monopoly of our money there's not a better guy you can talk to than dr ron paul and people still follow him
tremendous when he spoke in aspen the crowd when the fed they went into a chant fred so ron paul is still a power broker and i'm happy to say a friend of mine that you already said that you don't necessarily agree on the abortion issue when it comes to health care what about you. our position on free markets do you disagree or agree there. well i think we agree for free markets but they have to be free and they have to be fair and they have to be balanced and you know isolationism doesn't work any more you live in the world and you need to have a relationship with the rest of the world yet you can still accomplish that and protect your own country in the process. well our current leaders can't seem to work together or get along the way that you guys do is so way advice would you give our current leader. well i can't give him advice because the problem is look at ron paul and you look at dennis kucinich these are not yes men these are not men
who are in lockstep with the republicans and democrats the problem lies there if you're elected a republican or democrat and you rely on that political party to get you elected which most do well then you have to do their bidding then bills come out you don't even have to read them they tell you how to vote on them imagine how sick that is and the reason ron paul and demister signature are good because they might be democrats and republicans but they're not in lockstep they're their own man in their free thinkers and they vote accordingly governor you're against foreign intervention but as you know the united states says that it needs to go in for humanitarian purposes because people are suffering that's often a lie should we just leave them alone and say i had all our what do you think the best way is to address this issue as. well i mean humanitarian issue we should be involved in just as other countries should be involved in the humanitarian issues
here we've just gone through one in houston texas and florida we can use all the help we can get i remember when katrina hit down in louisiana and fidel castro offered us one hundred doctors and we turned him down but it was a while. who would know more about hurricanes than cuba and fidel when he was alive and yet we turn he holds out an olive branch and we slap it away well that's ridiculous things and events like this humanitarian around the world should be used to bring us together not separate us there is one thing where people can rally whether they know the language or not you understand humanity and helping your own human being at a time of need governor do you think people who have ideas like you are ron paul who are sort of outside of the mainstream have any chance to get to the presidency
. we always have a chance i mean donald trump proved you can win there's always a chance of it but it's very difficult defeating the two party the two gangs as i call them and all the political money that sooner do so by the corporations today very very difficult to as a third party or independent thinker to be able to win and when you do when you're faced trouble like i did as governor and you'll face trouble a lot like trump's facing right now but a lot of it he brings it upon himself absolutely thanks for tuning in everyone send us your comments on facebook and twitter be sure to check back next week because we'll be back with more from the open road featuring advice from governor ventura to two governor hopefuls a colorado gubernatorial candidate stopped by for advice on how to run a successful campaign and always remember people stay vigilant when government lies that means the truth becomes
a trader think about it. yes the. world according. what politicians do something that. they put themselves on the line they get accepted or rejected. so when you want to be president or injury. or somehow want to. have to go right to cross the saliva before three in the morning can't be good . i'm interested always in the waters in the house. why should more. i do not know if the russian state cock into john podesta emails and gave them to
wiki leaks but i do know barack obama's director of national intelligence has not provided credible to support his claims. i also know he perjured himself in a senate hearing three months before the revelations provided by edward snowden he denied the deep n.s.a. was carrying out wholesale surveillance of the u.s. . the hyperventilating corporate media has once again proved to be an echo chamber for government claims that cannot be verified you would have thought they would have learned something after serving as george w. bush's useful idiots in the lead up to the invasion of iraq. it is vitally important that the press remains rooted in a fact based universe especially when we enter an era when truth and fiction are becoming indistinguishable.
from a trial where i've spent countless hours poring through documents that tell the story about the ugly side of. corporate media written uses to talk about news and current more news. i'm going to paint a clear picture about how disturbing. for that is because. these are stories that you know what else might have posed to the american. west. life is like a game of. brady it's time to make you. hear we question every every decent. question to you and every. welcome to the big picture was on cook. distracted driving is already a killer and dazzling new dashboards serve up
