supervisor tang pr await raising property taxes and traffic speed up grad transit stations and prove pedestrian safety on the busiest corridors the general obligation bond is the 2030 task force to examine the infrastructure needs. we continued to discuss and work on on the champion measures bike like the vehicle free and over all we need to have great leadership in the city to make it happen the mayor is pushing hard to bring us together to make sure we're making the best investment in our transportation.
i want to thank supervisor wiener he wants to make sure we're keep the ball rolling so i appreciate our charter amendment to find the revenue sources to put on the ballot. to share those investments proposals city agencies are holding open meetings in every part of town last time we are that in district 11 i know that supervisor breed hosted a meeting and i attended my meeting last time from road repair to muni crowding to travel times i building the district 678 workshop with sdmm will be held tonight from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. i encourage the members of the public to look at the website
wwwsf transportation to see where the workshops will be held >> if there are no comments from the authority we'll go on to pan am it open relative to my rakes we'll close public comment and move on. >> item 4 the executive director report this is on informational item. >> thank you. good morning everyone my reports are on your deck the two mostly transit reports that's been a busy month the funding is on everyone's mind also at the state and local level wherewith the picture of the bills coming forward the obama administration and the
senate public works committee as the two year transportation bill in place that will expire on september 30th it's great to see this coming up with the extension we need to see a maintenance of the obama administration proposals for the increased level of funding we're not seeing the grow america act by the administrative and the departmentalize and republicans in the house and senate but we're talking about extending the bill for at least the next few years and will continue to monitor the progress with the transportation commission and with our partners we'll keep you posted. this goal to avert the bankruptcy of the highway trust fund to make sure we plan for
our capital needs. at the state level the cap and trade proposal realized imply permanently steinberg that take into consideration talks about an expenditure program and the governor provided a picture with the new proposal from the senate permanently includes direct funding to transit by 25 percent 20 percent for affordable housing and 20 percent for high speed rail so we see the right components in the bill and hope we'll come together to provide stability and certainty for the community going forward throughout the state. we have been coordinating with the mayor's office and the sfmta and others agencies as well as the sales force agencies known
as the self-help coalition we had visits from sacramento this month to discuss our hopes and advocacy around cap and trade other statewide efforts we met with senator leno and others as well as staff from the pro tems office as well as support for our priority likes high speed rail and transit and other needs as affordable housing. we talked about pedestrian safety and vision zero they very much support our efforts they're an effort to help to explore awkward tucks and legislation in conjunction with sfmta and we talked about clean up legislation we're purring for
treasure island mobility management programs. at the local level chair avalos talked about the workshops it's been a good way to start the process there's a lot of good work we need to share citywide and we hope all the open houses continue to attract the public we're getting good suggestions that are equitable and effective way to move forward in terms of investments last time we got proposals from the public i encourage you to come out and it's early and we can bring those ideas into the policy process. may is also a busy month for vision zero work as we know a few months ago the first vision zero meeting we continue to work
on the improvements as well as to participate in the statewide efforts we had staffs and supervisor kim's office to come to sacramento with the city team to pub talk about the pedestrian safety we're setting a high bar we're an ambitious city toe meet the long term goals and the a long time action for the pedestrian safety through the 3 major straechlgz of street it design, improvement and education. in addition we've had a enter agency discussion around brt a robust conversation we're looking at moved the project into this and sfmta has taken a aggressive progress there's an
update in the package of the improvements it's much more than bus rapid transit it will improve performances in the corridor that was a property line a property line avenue improvement from franklin to the polk corridor. so we're excited to see that there's an update to the geary project we hope to bring the environmental project forward in the fall and initiate the environmental process to keep it on track both of the projects are high priorities but geary in particular the scheduling we're going to need the support of the city's revenue measures in the fall. so all of those improvements are on track but we need the support
of the public to make it possible. in terms of our neighborhood planning we work with chinatown and the update happened in distribute 3 we talked about what sfmta and dpw are proposing with the street bond money that's going to improve pedestrian safety along columbus avenue with the neighborhood planning fester a few years ago. the geneva project is moving along we appreciate the community support in connecting 3 cities and multiply operators. the next brt meeting is june 19th so, please check out our website. feinstein on treasure island we are really ramping up we have 34 streams of work we have the ramp
projects and we have the elective efforts to support the mobility agency. also our setting governor board is we're setting that up and vance our city engineering we had a d b r workshop with the sdaenld community trying to promote those connections with great outreach thank you lilly and others for they're great effort to promote the business opportunities with the transportation authority. feinstein open the balboa park committee that will be coming to the advisory committee and we'll moved with the key strategies we
recommended including a reconfiguration of the southbound i 280 off-ramp to fix it conflict point and signal that going forward in addition to looking at a new potential onramp closer at geneva and others possible strategies we want to make sure we're improving pedestrian safety and maintaining the overall strategy. finally at the end our annual fiscal audit with our planning project those are both important effort to make sure we continue to keep the business agency smooth and accountant >> thank you. >> thank you for your remarks colleagues, any questions or comments. are okay. on to public comment
