we're following breaking involving a norfolk southern train. our affiliate station, in upstate new york, derailed, prompting nearby evacuations and shelter-in-place orders. the derailment happened around 11:30 last night in the town of ripley in chautauqua county. that's near the

so far, there are no reports of injuries. officials told our affiliate station, wgrz, 18 cars came off the tracks. these are pictures of first responders working the scene. investigators are trying to figure out how the accident happened. they're also trying to clear the tracks so other trains can get through. we'll keep monitoring this throughout the morning and bring you any updates when we get them. to decision 20-16 and a big gain for hillary clinton and donald trump on super tuesday. let's start on the democratic side where clinton overwhelmingly won virginia over bernie sanders, 64 to 35- percent. we saw that big margin in most hampton roads williamsburg where sanders beat clinton by just two-percent. now to the republicans, where donald trump won virginia and most of hampton roads. he received 35-percent. marco rubio was a close second at 32- percent, with 17-

when we go city-by-city, williamsburg once again goes against the norm. rubio won with 41-percent, trump and john kasich actually tied for second at 22-percent, and cruz dropped to third with just 10-percent. for a closer look at the results, go to wavy-dot-com, and click "election results" on the homepage. new this morning, norfolk police are looking for two overnight robbery suspects. investigators say two armed men hit the 7-11 on granby street at la valette avenue just after midnight. that's in the riverview neighborhood. officers say no one was hurt. call the crime line if you know anything. today murder cases that have rocked the charlottesville area are expected to come to an end. today jesse matthew junior is expected to take a plea deal in the deaths of two college students. rico bush has more on what's expected today, and what this means for two grieving families. rico. katie, don, the plea agreements are likely to bring relief and a sense

get justice. this afternoon, prosecutors say matthew will plead guilty to the murders of graham and harrington to avoid the death penalty. prosecutors say they planned to seek the death penalty, if matthew was convicted in the graham's case. her case was scheduled to go to trial this summer. graham disappeared from near the university of virginia in september 20-14. police found her remains the next month on abandoned property in albemarle county about 12 miles from the university. virginia tech student morgan harrington vanished after attending a metallica concert in charlottesville in 2- thousand-9. authorities found her remains on a farm months later. her case was scheduled to go to trial in the fall. matthew is already serving three life sentences in a seperate case. he was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in fairfax county in 2- thousand-5. after prosecutors announced the plea agreements monday, harrington's mother reacted to the emerging deals, saying she supported them. new information about a story we first brought you yesterday on wavy news 10 on fox43. police in california captured a kidnapping suspect last night who led officers on a chase in a hummer. police arrested thomas ueno after an hours-long standoff. he's accused of kidnapping his girlfriend and her two young children, and then leading police on a slow- speed chase through the streets of orange county. the pursuit ended monday when he ditched the car and ran. today a homicide trial is

norfolk. 26-year-old kareem turner faces charges for killing dejuan glover. investigators believe he shot glover in july of 20-14 on jason avenue. a norfolk judge found two other suspects - joshua wood and roy turner - guilty in the case last year. another murder suspected is expected in court today in gloucester county. 18-year-old dijon whitter faces several charges, including first- degree murder, in the death of 18-year-old joshua morrison. the sheriff says morrison was one of four people shot in january at the intersection of ditchley road and gill lane. the other victims recovered. police in suffolk are looking for the person who killed a 42-year-old man. we first told you about this yesterday morning when investigators said they found wayne watford's body in the pleasant hill cemetery off old dill road. his brother-in-law, keith edwards says watford had troubles, and was in and out of jail. c34 keith edwards -

my clothes, whatever i could give him you know to get his self back, get his self back on his feet for a little while and then he would fall, he would fall again." so far police have neither given us any suspect information, nor told us how walton died. call the crime line if you know anything. a family is suing a norfolk police officer for shooting and killing their loved one two years ago. relatives of david latham want nine- million dollars in a wrongful death suit against officer michael edington. he shot latham after police say he threatened them with a knife. latham's family says he was having a mental episode, and they only wanted help to get him to the hospital. officer edington is awaiting trial on manslaughter charges in the case. we now know more about the woman who died in a fire in norfolk, friday. family members say it was 65-year-old claudia ridley. she died in a massive house fire kingston avenue, in ocean view.

new this morning, two people died when an s-u-v crashed into a pizza restaurant in massachusetts. it happened around 6:00 last night, during the height of the dinner rush. paramedics took 7 other people to the hospital. first responders covered the restaurant with red tarps while they removed the victims. police say the driver survived. witnesses say the suv came barreling down a hill and failed to stop at an intersection, before plowing into the restaurant. watch as an suv crashed into a florida sushi restaurant. it happened just north of miami. the manager says the driver had just finished eating. police charged the driver with distracted driving and driving without a license. no one was hurt. a nebraska boy is lucky to be alive after an suv slammed into his house. that's because he moved his bed to a different spot in his bedroom. family members say the

breaking news in upstate new york involving a norfolk southern train. the derailment happened around 11:30 last night in the town of ripley in chautauqua county, near the pennsylvania border. our affiliate station says a freight train derailed, prompting nearby evacuations and shelter-in-place orders. this is brand new video that just came into our newsroom. so far, there are no reports of injuries. officials say two of the 15 derailed train cars were carrying ethanol, and that both were leaking. firefighters evacuated about 55 homes within a 1-thousand foot radius of the accident. those families are staying at several churches. 3 supers 1:20 - 1:26 runs bad, and then the train to derailed right in front of our house." 1:29 - 1:37 runs 8 (jill through. it was just a loud wooshing, screeching noise." two high-profile murder cases that have hung over the city of charlottesville for years will likely come to an end today. 33-year-old jesse matthew junior is expected to enter plea agreements in the deaths of two virginia college students. matthew is due in court in albermarle county this afternoon. and, 10 on your side plans to be there to watch it all unfold. rico bush joins us this morning with more from his sources on what's expected to happen this afternoon. rico. don, katie, prosecutors say matthew will plead guilty to the murders of 18-year-old hannah graham and 20-year- old morgan harrington to avoid the death penalty. authorities announced the plea agreements monday,

right now what some are calling a cursed cruise ship is returning to its home port in new jersey. here's a live look. royal caribbean says "the anthem of the seas" is coming back home to avoid a storm. but several passengers onboard came down with the norovirus while on this latest trip. this is the same ship that hit a bad storm off the coast of cape hatteras in february. several passengers were hurt, and the ship had to turn back. the results from super tuesday are in. donald trump and hillary clinton gained momentum while holding on to their leads. trump and clinton each won seven primaries including virginia. for the republicans, donald trump built a sizeable lead and picked up at least 197 delegates. overall trump now has 279 delegates. senator ted cruz, won his home state of texas and picked-up oklahoma and alaska. he has 154 delegates. senator marco rubio won minnesota and

governor john kasich has 24 and doctor ben carson has 8. a nominee needs more than 12-hundred delegates to win the republican nomination. clinton solidified her overall delegate lead over senator bernie sanders. including superdelegates, clinton how has at least 969 delegates to sander's 319. sanders won primaries in four states including his home state of vermont. he also won the caucus in colorado yesterday. it takes almost 2400 democratic nominee. hillary clinton supporters and volunteers tuesday night. they watched the results come in from guad's on granby street. many saying they're longtime volunteers. some have even been working the phones to get out the vote. they say, they still have to do. knock on, a lot of phone calls to make. those supporters say they will be back to work this in his norfolk campaign office to listen to him speak -- after it was projected that he lost the democratic primary in virginia. s/sen. bernie sanders (d) presidential candidate :15 "as i think all of you know, this campaign is not just about electing a president, it is about transforming america." the independent won in his home state of vermont. about 30 to 40 people watched the results come in off little creek road in norfolk. volunteers started the day early with literature drops, canvassing at polls, and knocking on doors. they told us they were in it for the long haul -- despite the loss. about 50 people gathered in virginia beach to cheer on donald trump's win in virginia. nats of cheering the diverse group met at pembroke pizza. everyone we spoke with seemed to have a different reason behind their support for trump.
