i think that says something profound how god deals with us, he invites, never coerces. so my thoughts this time is, have we admitted that we need this gift? have we admitted that we need god? all right. i believe this baby of bethlehem is my savior. i got to say, do i need saving? do i need god's help? do i need mercy and guidance from beyond? or can i get through all this by myself without needing anybody or anything else. when i make the profession the confession, i need help. i need god. i need the help of other people. i need the help of family and friends. and i also need god's help. then we can open up the gift that he sends us, because we're admitting we need god. and then i think, is it the christmas sentiment that we got to work on? >> there is one thing that's clear, this is a world in badly need of comfort. it's been a year that's been really hard. i can't tell you how many people

act. this is the way life should be usually. so it's almost like god is sending under the circumstances a reminder, memo, this is what i intend all year, folks, at least we got it for a little while. >> i don't know what christmas is like in rain shower household growing up. we rip through a lots of presents on christmas morning. it's a wonderful part of our tradition in this country. how would you recommend people if they want to take a moment to reflect to try to just kind of peak into the real reason for the future. no matter their faith. >> look, i'm pretty biassed. i would say the first thing to do would be prayer. what we got in 90% of the christmas scenes in our homes, even for those who are not believers, there is probably a crib set. so few stop and simply and sincerely look on that and complicate and kwon template that, that this is god's son who came to us as an innocent, fragile, tender baby, who wants to be held, who wants to be
loved and accepted, that's beautiful. that's a bableaux. that's an iconic yvette mass card. there is one to pray and contemplate what christ smas about. secondly, let's concentrate, savannah, on some of the things that i admit can every once in a while be xaj rated and taken to extremes during christmas, but in general have a good point like gift giving. you know, you see pastors say, oh, condemn the consumerism. condemn the shopping. wait a minute. 99% of that, they're shopping for other people. they're shopping to give it away. that's a very noble selfless sentiment. isn't it? so family, friends, feasting, joy. religion is about that. okay. religion is about all of that. so there's, yeah, it can be taken overboard. i tend to do it. you know. but let's at least say, this is good and then coming together,
solidarity. this is the one we got a cliche about it. nobody should be himself or herself on christmas. because with this almost this tangible feeling of solidarity that we are a part of the family. we are a part of a wider community. christmas brings that about. those are all magnificent noble sentiments that are a part of this season and to contemplate those. to think about those, i think restores the genuine significance of what this is all about. >> there is a big event coming up in september. pope francis is coming to the united states. did you get the invitation to philadelphia? >> i don't know who said, who should interview me here? >> i don't think you gave the right answer. i hope you did. >> have you invited him to stop by new york? >> have i ever. have i ever? he cannot come to the united states without coming to new york. he said, when did you start telling me what to do? no, i think he's going to come. we haven't heard official yet. when we do, invite me over,

especially now that i live with a higher risk of stroke due to afib, a type of irregular heartbeat, not caused by a heart valve problem. i was taking warfarin, but wondered if i kept digging, could i come up with something better. my doctor told me about eliquis... for three important reasons. one, in a clinical trial, eliquis was proven to reduce the risk of stroke better than warfarin. two, eliquis had less major bleeding than warfarin. and three, unlike warfarin, there's no routine blood testing. don't stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. don't take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. while taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. tell your doctor about all planned medical
or dental procedures. those three important reasons are why eliquis is a better find for me. ask your doctor today if eliquis is right for you. walgreens knows the holidays are full of surprises. that's why, whenever the need arises... walgreens is always right around the corner, so you can get in and out in no time. and help keep the magic in your holidays. at the corner of happy and healthy. most stores open christmas day. losing your chex mix too easily? deploy the boring potato chip decoy bag. with a variety of tastes and textures, only chex mix has twenty bags of interesting. pick your mix. ♪ it's written on my face
