form of thunderstorms later this morning and early this afternoon. 50 sz to start with. unusually warm. a nice turnaround after the chilly start. pottstown and doylestown in the 40s. 55 in millville. just above it in roxborough. so a mild morning and these numbers will climb into the low 60s. that's in spite of the rain that will be moving in. dry at 6:00. in fact, most of the commute should be dry. by 9:00 the rain starts moving in and showers will be with us at noontime with winds out of the south at 16 miles an hour. look at the warmup. it changes later today. i'll go through the forecast hour be i hour with futurecast. let's check in with jessica boyington. jessie. >> not really tying a whole lot of things up. all lanes are closed, but being detoured around the scene. so your best bet is to take that accident and downed pole

with more. >> reporter: rosemary, today is another opportunity for bernie sanders to get his message here in pennsylvania hchl's going to be speaking with union leaders across the state later this morning. last night senator sanders rallied with a crowd of more than 10,000 reporter supportere university. things got personal. he told rally goers that clinton is not qualified. ed rendell spoke. he said it's about time both candidates stop attacking one another. >> sanders should back down his attacking on secretary clinton. he's just giving fodder and
clinton shouldn't rise to the bait and attack sanders. we're going to need voters to turn out in the fall. it would behoove both candidates to tone it down a little bit. >> reporter: during a one-on-one he spoke of trade policies that he's in support of, trade policies that would put workers first. reporting liesk this morning in center city, i'm pamela osborne, "nbc 10 news." former president bill clinton will be in philadelphia to speak for his wife. his stop here in philly comes just one day after secretary clinton appeared at that pennsylvania afl-cio convection. voters in p.a. are to play a big role in choosing the next president. there are 71 delegates in the
republican contest. the pennsylvania primary is less than three weeks away on april 26th. philadelphia's mayor will join with at&t today to announce communications network improvement for the democratic network convention. it's happened in philadelphia later this summer. they'll also name at&t as the communications and technology provider. the upgrades will benefit the region and the city for years to come. now to news from our south jersey bureau. investigators are revealing more about a child pornography bust which includes the arrest of a teacher from south jersey. police arrested thomas guzzi jr. along with 15 other men. guzzi is accused of having more than 100 files on child porn on his computer. he's now on leave at vineland
where he was also a drama club adviser. investigators found a video of guzzi installing a hidden camera in a bathroom for performers at the broadway theater in pittman. >> he had full access in the theater, access when most were not around. >> guzzi is out on bail but he cannot have contact with any children. >> they want to hear what homeowners thinking a proposed rate change. it would begin in july and amounts to an increase of just about $8 per month for customers. the kept says the money is needed to improve infrastructure and to reduce water main breaks. weather could be to blame for a fire that gutted a cumberland county church over the weekend.

early this afternoon. 4:40 on this thursday and jessica boyington has our first alert traffic for us, and she has details out on what's happening on the roads and on the traffic cameras. what do you see next? >> we're watching south jersey on the 42. this is east where the two roadways meet. no problem if you'rehooding down the shore like these cars are heading right here or northbound toward the philadelphia area. drive times are great. still under a five-minute trip. out in trenton, there's a downed pole there. there will be cleanup. all lanes are being closed right now and detoured around the scene. if you follow that detour, you'll be okay. here's the blue route. no problem you can see in either direction. no big backups or congestion. the schuylkill expressway also

henley will have the updated forecast in just minutes. from our top jersey bureau, we're giving you a look through the eyes of a firefighter. this is what he saw as he battled the blaze that nearly destroyed a north cumberland county church over the weekend. the video comes from the helmet camera of millville firefighter alexander hess. you can see crews breaking through doors and windows. you can also see them spraying water on the flames as they make their way through the mount pleasant united methodist church sunday morning. this cell phone gives you a different perspective of the fire. they tell us sunday's strong winds toppled a tree and then power lining sparked that started flames. firefighters were able to save
the church's social hall. fortunately no one was hurt. down south in texas, officials in san antonio are investigating video that show as school district police officer slamming a 12-year-old girl to the ground. warning, this may be difficult to watch. >> oh. vanessa, are you oklahoma? >> this cell phone video was taken at a school last week. the officer was breaking up some kind of verbal confrontation between two students. the sixth grader said she was just trying to talk through a problem with a classmate. >> i wasn't going to do anything. >> you could hear where she hit the ground and it's nothing be concrete. >> the girl suffered a bump to the head but otherwise she's

until 5:00 this morning on pass yak avenue. the left lane will be closed there. the right lane is closed on broad street in philadelphia. southbound between spring garden street and city hall. so more construction projects to watch out for. route 202 is doing okay. you can see we're in the green. 11 minutes north or southbound with speeds just into the high 50s. we'll havemore hi more highligh the next ten minutes. 4:49 around a mild one. clouds are overhead and the temperatures are in the 50s. we'll climb into the 60s. we have a southerly wind gusting to 25 miles an hour. the breeze will hang in here. you see the flag here. mostly cloudy skies to start with. don't forget your umbrella.
even though it's dry right now, we will see rain arrive this morning. the temperatures, though, they'll be moving up. 48 in pottstown. 50s across delaware and south jersey. much warmer than when the readings had dropped. 40s for collegeville. and eagleville, upper 40s for pottstown. a milder morning but bright sunshine like we had yesterday is not happening and here's why. this rain is on the move. it's moving from central pennsylvania. we could see downpours especially north and west. the futurecast shows at 8:00 it's starting to move into the area. more moderate showers for the north and west. we'll see that at 10:00 this morning and heavy downpours at 1:00 this afternoon. the first line of showers should be clearing by 4:00. may see breaks of sunshine, but
there's still a chance of spotty showers later today. stand by for wet weather and mild weather too. rain. it will only be rain, a possibility of some thunderstorms, just a chance, with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. but another cold one is on the way for the weekend. starts to get chillier on friday. the wind will be blowing partly to mostly cloudy skies. looks like it's going to be dry for the villanova parade. saturday, a different story. a chance of showers, snow, and rain showers a possibility with a high of 44. then a chilly one sunday. we'll get sunshine. just 49 degrees after a morning low of 29 degrees. come monday, the clouds increase. it looks like it will stay dry in the afternoon, but we could see some evening showers monday. a good chance we'll see showers again on tuesday. >> nine minutes. thomas jefferson university has 20 million reasons to be thankful.

today pennsylvania governor tom wolf will sign two consecutive orders to prohibit lgbt discrimination. it would ban agencies from discriminating against people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. he'll call on the legislature to pass nondiscrimination legislation. he wants to make clear pennsylvania is clear, welcoming and open for business for everyone. also happening the philadelphia gay news celebrates its anniversary. the paper has focused on philadelphia's lgbt community for four decades and its work has been nominated for a pulitzer prize. you won't have to wait for the next fevlg or parade to order something from your favorite wilmington food truck.
