this is what i'm talking about. all right. i'm your host, jimmy fallon. guys, this is our last show in l.a. [ audience aws ] which means that after five long days, i can finally stop sucking in my gut. [ laughter ] of course we've been here a a week. we've been checking in on the local news here. and i saw that the godzilla el nino weather pattern -- [ laughter ] that was supposed to drench los angeles this winter seems to be fading away. but don't worry usually anything that fades away in hollywood just ends up on "dancing with the stars." [ laughter and applause ] you'll see 'em. so don't worry. they'll be back. >> steve: godzilla el nino doing the mamba. >> jimmy: guys, this is cool. i read that president obama was spotted at a steak restaurant in d.c. this week with morgan freeman and tom hanks. they didn't even order anything. they just closed their eyes and listened to morgan freeman read the appetizers. [ laughter ] >> artichoke dip. crab cakes. jalapeno poppers.
[ laughter and applause ] >> jimmy: artichoke dip. morgan, is there anything else on the menu? >> broccolini. sautéed escarole. rice pilaf. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: broccolini. yeah. guys, here's the latest on the election. bernie sanders was talking about how he's a feminist, at the democratic town hall last night. check out what he said. >> gloria steinem -- everybody knows gloria's one of the leading feminists in america -- made me an honorary woman many, many years ago. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: at which point he was immediately hit on by bill clinton. [ laughter and applause ] it was interesting. it was very interesting. and over at last night's republican town hall, the candidates were asked what type
of music they listen to. donald trump says he listens to classic rock. john kasich says he listens to alternative. while jeb bush wakes up every morning hearing this -- [ "price is right" horn ] [ applause ] of course, tomorrow is the south carolina primary, and this week donald trump has been telling supporters that if he wins south carolina he thinks he could, quote, "run the table." yeah. and if he doesn't win, he'll flip over the table like an angry new jersey housewife. [ laughter ] [ trump impression ] you're all losers! wall! huge! pope! [ light laughter ] >> steve: pope? >> jimmy: morgan, are you still reading the menu? morgan freeman? >> pulled pork sliders. [ laughter ] tuna carpaccio. thai lettuce wraps. [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: is there anything left on the menu to read,

[ laughter ] >> jimmy: thank you very much. good to know that. good to know. this was very sweet. a woman named flossie celebrated her 110th birthday in washington this week. [ cheers and applause ] yeah. you've got to see this. the local news went to talk to her about the big day. check this out. >> she is enjoying some coffee this morning because flossie, you say you're a little tired this morning. is that right? >> i am tired. [ laughter ] >> she is very tired. that's actually i heard your favorite activity to do at the center here, is to take a a little nap. >> take a nap as many times as i can. >> are you excited for your party? >> not one bit. [ laughter ] [ applause ] >> jimmy: are you excited -- are you excited about your party? not one bit. [ light laughter ] that woman is fantastic. oh, man.
this is pretty interesting. according to a recent study of college students, some tv shows help viewers become kinder and more generous people. for instance, every time after i watch "the bachelor" i always put more money into my daughters' college funds. [ laughter and applause ] you've got to go to school. you're going to school. i can't believe that our week in l.a. is actually coming to a a close. ♪ well, we had such a great time and, well -- ♪ i'm so glad we had this time together ♪ [ cheers and applause ] ♪ just to have a laugh [ coughing ] or sing -- sorry, i have a tickle in my throat. can anyone -- does anyone have any water or something? guys, it's our last day in los angeles. it's been such a great trip. everybody has been so nice and made us feel at home. i'm really thankful. so i thought, if it's cool with you guys, i'd like to write out my weekly thank you notes. you heard growing up as a kid. oh, my god. >> jimmy: big time. that's huge. they can never take that away. you'll always have that. >> quite an honor. and also you get a little pell pin and a, you know, a card to the clubhouse and you get pool privileges. [ laughter ] otherwise, you're crazed with nervousness. >> jimmy: well, i never get that because people are like, "i didn't think ways going to win." it's like, "well, you had a one in six chance." you had better odds than i did. [ applause ] >> jimmy: he's in the bathtub. has a whiskey and typewriter and cigarettes. >> he was hunched over his typewriter so much that he got a chronic back problem, and he was told in order to alleviate this, you got to take a bath every day for a couple of hours. and he thought, "i can't spend that time." so he brought his desk with him, and he did some of his best work in the bathtub. it's amazing. >> jimmy: in the bathtub. it's a fascinating story. i think i'm just getting a vibe from you. i think the interview is going great so far, but i think you want to take it to another level. i'm guessing.
