with extensive injuries. now an accident investigation is underway, as well. again, there is the northbound side where they're diverting all traffic off around route 413 in bristol. so traffic not getting by. here's a different view from one of the cameras here. again, you see the traffic that's moving in the single-file lane. that's the traffic moving off of the exit ramp. traffic is not getting by. we're going to see pretty big delays. and actually some of the delays look like they've thinned a little bit. maybe with the traffic funneling through, it may have lightened up a bit. i'm going to keep my eye on that. first let's tell you how to get around it. heading this general direction, we see some of the slowdown beforehand. you can get off around woodhaven, 95 northbound. that is still open. take route 1 up -- route 1 the entire way. it's early enough that we're not seeing big delays in volume. back to you. >> thank you. new from overnight, a neighborhood shoot-out in philadelphia. when the bullets started flying, one shot right through a home and into a man's best --
bedpost. katy, tell us what happened. >> reporter: even philadelphia police are crawling this an incredibly -- are calling this an incredibly close call. if a man had been sitting up in bed instead of lying down, he very well may have been show. from the video you see investigators have a lot to go through. it's an extensive crime scene at conlin and 15th street. a weapon was found lying on the ground. nearly two dozen shell casings found, as well. a bullet through a window into a bedpost. just things they have to start with. it was a little after 11:00 last night when police were in the in the area and heard gunfire. they got to the scene in time to see two cars pulling away. as they followed the cars, someone threw two weapons out of one of the car windows. police caught up to the vehicle and are questioning the two people inside. meanwhile, someone from the
scene, 15th street and conlin, was dropped at einstein hospital in critical condition after being shot several times. another man, this one lucky. he narrowly escaped being shot after one of the bullets flew through his window and hit the bed where he was sleeping. back live, you see northwest detectives -- inside northwest detectives, i'm told, investigators questioning two people they pulled from the car believed to have thrown the weapons to the ground. coming up, i'll tell you what other evidence investigators are going through that could help them solve this crime. >> thanks. 4:32. police are holding a philadelphia youth soccer coach who's accused of getting one of his teenaged players pregnant. >> police arrested francisco prado contreras after getting an anonymous tip. the 15-year-old girl discovered
she was pregnant last october, one month after asking the suspect for a job in his cleaning business in south philadelphia. police say contreras talked the girl into having sex with him several times, paying her each time. >> you're a coach. there's an expectation you're going to look out for the kids. to violate that trust is pretty bad. >> as a parent, you want to believe that your children are -- everyone has the best interest for your child. >> nbc10 has learned contreras was not an employed soccer coach but a volunteer for his league. philadelphia parks and recreation said they have no affiliation with him. defense attorneys for convicted cop killer eric frein is expected to call his father, mother, and sisters to the stand in an effort to keep him off of death row. >> the widow of trooper byron dixon testified in court for more than an hour. tiffany dixon told jurors about her family's difficulties since
frein shot and killed her husband. -- wednesday the jury convict convicted convict e convictconvicted -- on wednesday, the jury convicted frein of the murder. they will decide between the death penalty and life in prison. in a case of an off-duty police officer accused of shooting her husband during a dispute. investigators tell us it happened at the home in holland. the husband had to have surgery. police say the officer did not use her service gun in the shooting. in philadelphia, federal prosecutors are expected to announce a list of witnesses and the evidence that they will present at the corruption trial of district attorney seth williams. the trial is scheduled for may 31st. williams is facing bribery and extortion charges. his law license is suspended as he awaits trial. in chester county, westchester university will welcome its 15th president. christopher f in this orentino will be inaugurated in front of a thousand faculty, students,
and alumni. and septa will open a ribbon-cutting to open the new parking garage at the lansdale train station. the facility has nearly 700 parking spaces, and perhaps best of all, parking at the garage is free through june 18th. speaking of free, a free bus ride is part of opening week festivities for philadelphia's new museum of the american revolution. you can get a free single ride on the philly fhlash buses. present the admission ticket to the museum as you board. happening this weekend, tens of thousands of comcast employees across the country will volunteer in the annual comcast cares day event. tomorrow nbc10 employees will work at the boys and girls club in nicetown. i'll be there looking forward to it. company workers will be clean, painting, and landscaping. comcast is the parent company of nbc10. comcast cares day coincides with earth day. activists across the country will be holding marches for
science. similar rallies planned for penns landing and doylestown as well as atlantic city. tomorrow is also record store day. events are planned in the area to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store. they include in-store performances and the release of exclusive and limited release albums. this is the 10th year for the event. the figures show that vinyl sales jump as much as 321% in businesses participating in record store day. >> record stores -- one of my favorites is in manayunk. i love playing records. >> 45s, the best. she's known as a music alpia al pioneer. coming up we'll tell you who it is. and stranded on the sidewalk, who stepped in to help after a 5-year-old girl is left at the wrong bus stop. and destructive deposit.

good morning, everyone. jessica boyington with you watching the roads. a serious accident investigation scene on 95 moving through bristol now. on the northbound side is what you're watching here. we have all lanes blocked. one lane scooting by, but that's because they're diverting traffic off at exit -- the exit for route 413.
to get by the scene, not a good idea unless you want to take the detour and be detoured through. the southbound side looks okay. moving through, as you see on the maps, this is where it is in this general area here. that's where they're exiting people off. right now it's looking green. not a lot of traffic. you can take woodhaven to route 1 and head to 95 that way or take route 1 the whole way up to the area because that's where -- we're not seeing a lot of volume again on the rest of the roads. it would be an easy detour for you at least for now. in schwenksville, a crash at main around walnut. drive times on the schuylkill expressway look good. you see that eastbound, westbound, still in the green. 12 minutes both directions from the blue route to the vine street expressway. more updates on 95 when i come bac back. 4:40. you see the rain clouds building in the east.
the rain is just starting to move to in there. it's going to be on and off. the first round move information to berks county and the allentown area, lehigh valley getting some of the rain. this is light rainfall now. you see it's moving into north hampton county, as well. the heavier showers just to the north. hasn't reached down to whitpane but isn't far away. lancaster is getting rain moving in now. rain to start with. and there's a good chance we'll see rain, possibly thunderstorms this afternoon. 6:00 this morning, look at the rain extending through chester county into new jersey, through philadelphia, trenton, and the lehigh valley. by 9:00, 10:00, noontime, we're drying out. that first round of showers moves out of the picture. we could see breaks of sunshine. this is when the temperatures will start to climb. look what happens this afternoon -- 2:30 this afternoon, another round of showers. and possibly some heavy downpours with thunderstorms. these will swing through, could be strong winds, as well.
this is 4:30 this afternoon. reaching into new jersey, especially south jersey at that time. there will be more showers and possibly some thunderstorms developing and generating as we go into the early evening hours. so combine it all together, it's going to keep temperatures in the 70s for philadelphia. a little bit cooler in the suburbs. a range of temperatures, westchester, 75. 68 with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in doylestown. the lehigh valley will get close to 60 -- 70 degrees this afternoon. temperatures staying in the 60s for most of the day. 66 in trenton. up to 74 for voorheis. showers and thunderstorms, but not an all-day rainfall. we'll get that midday break. that's when temperatures will warm up. at the shore, into the middle 70s. 76 in wilmington. some wet weather today as we head into the weekend. and this weekend, there's a chance we'll see more rainfall, as well. your weekend forecast when i'm back in ten minutes. >> thank you. 4:42. we're so excited about this. this morning, we have a big announcement to make.

4:45. our county-by-county coverage begins in camden. >> a father's on trial for the murder of his 3-year-old son. in court, the boy's mother called david creato's theory that a spirit drew the child into the woods where he was found dead in 2015 odd and unexplainable. the mother secretly recorded creato at the request of investigators. prosecutors say he killed his son because of money problems and because the boy was getting in the way of his relationship with his teenage girlfriend. in wilmington, more details are emerging about the suspect police shot and killed after a chase on wednesday. new castle county officers identified him as keith price, wanted in connection with a shooting earlier this month. police said price drove off when they tried to arrest him. they say he hid in the bushes, then came out with a gun. and that's when officers opened fire. and in delaware county, the woman wanted in a craigslist kidnapping attempt is awaiting extradition to montgomery county. police arrested lara mounts on
wednesday. she's accused of participating in the attempted abduction of a man in lansdale who placed an online ad seeking companionship. a doylestown man who police call the straw hat bandit is in jail. richard boil is accused of robbing nearly a dozen banks in montgomery and bucks counties over the past five years. investigators say he stole nearly half a million dollars. they accuse him of hiding the money in the accounts of his aerial photography business. police in northeastern pennsylvania are looking for a car that smashed into this bank. surveillance video shows the vehicle barreling through the front of the bank in dixon city wednesday night. it appears someone tried to get out of the passenger side, but the door was jammed shut. the car backed out and took off. had4:47. we're continuing to follow breaking news on the roads. i-95 lanes shut down. we're watching the northbound side of 95 approaching route 413 over in
bristol. as we zoomed our camera out a bit, you see what's going on. this is the accident investigation scene. the lane being forced off is around route 413. you'll need an alternate especially heading northbound on 95. the southbound side looks better. we're not seeing any problems or delays because of that accident investigation. again, it has extensive injuries and could be there for some time under this investigation. right in this slow spot, that's where we're starting to see that backup and delay approaching the scene. fortunately, still a little early. we're not seeing anything major. for now, to get around it, take route 1 the whole way up. route 1's not going to give you too many problems. or get off around woodhaven northbound and take route 1 and head up to 95 that way. that will be a good idea for you. also checking in with the p.a. turnpike, and we'll end with drive times. green in both directions. 22 minutes westbound and eastbound from route 1 to valley forge. >> thank you. 12 minutes before 5:00 a.m.
looks like we'll have to deal with a little rain. take the umbrella -- >> yep, umbrella required this morning. bill, fill us in. it's moving in from the west. we're seeing the clouds already from here at the studios. parts of the area already getting rain. the lehigh valley, and moving into the suburbs, too. that will keep temperatures cool to start with. 56 now at sadsburiville. 53 in malvern. 50s across new hope, warring ton. not terribly cold. normally in the 40s this time of year. the clouds are overhead, and yes, here comes the rain. a little bit of thunder and lightning now in central pennsylvania. and these showers will give us a chance of some thunderstorms. mainly it's going to be rain. it's in lancaster county moving through berks and into the lehigh valley. and it's coming toward philadelphia, wilmington, and south jersey. we're all going to see rain today, and a possibility of storms will develop again this afternoon. they're likely going to start in the suburbs and swing through philadelphia.
that's not the end of the wet weather. you see it lines up into kentucky and missouri. and that's a possibility for us for the weekend. look at how it moves. the shower activity could come in saturday. 5:00, showers are just to the south. during the saturday morning hours, we could see showers in south jersey. then saturday evening, a chance of some showers for delaware, south jersey, and into philadelphia. and then those will be breaking into sunday. sunday, we may see sunshine, and sunday could turn out to be the drier of the days this weekend. we've got changes ahead. 73 this afternoon. 66 tomorrow with a chance of some showers for saturday and sunday. monday afternoon, 60s for monday, tuesday, and wednesday. then 70s for thursday. look at the warmup, next week in the 80s. i thought she was abducted. i didn't know where she was. >> a grandmother says she was
worried sick when her 5-year-old granddaughter didn't make it home from school one day this week. a story you'll only see on nbc10. >> the little girl was left off at the wrong bus stop. mia was supposed to get off at 5th and main in tray nor but got off a half mile away. video shows her running along a busy road and a good-intentions stranger helping her across the street. >> she was nowhere to be found. i kept calling the district. nobody answered the phone. >> the mother and granddaughter were reunited 30 minutes later. another family said this happ happened to them twice. the school district is working to make sure policies and protocols are followed to promote as safe an environment as possible. pennsylvania's governor says he will veto a bill that would allow public school officials to carry guns on campus if it reaches his desk. >> the bill would require the school personnel to have licenses to carry concealed firearms, and they would have to
