bundle up in layers. the mayor said he ordered a code blue which means homeless people on the streets will be brought to shelters and encouraging new yorkers who do not have heat inside of the homes to call 311 to ensure their homes are properly heated over the next few days. the upper west side janelle burrell cbs 2 news. a live look at a massive fire at a warehouse in new jersey that continues to burned this morning. it started at 3 yesterday afternoon in hillsborough summerset county and spread to at least two other buildings. it's unclear how the fire started and it has since reopened. there are no reports of injuries. much more in a live report coming up.

you know what i'm telling you, a little closer because you are really going to need to think smart and warm. want to show you what's going on in fact parts of the hudson valley are going to see the potential for wind chills of 20 to 50 degrees below zero. that's why the national weather service has posted a wind chill advisory a warning in the pink shaded areas. saturday evening until sunday afternoon. the worst is overnight saturday into sunday. wind chills 20 to 50 degrees below zero. 50 degrees below obviously an exception but wide spread 20 to 40-degree wind chills and an advisory for long island. in the city beautiful stars over head. clear and 17 wind out of the west at 16 miles per hour. it's 3 in, 9 in the hamptons.
guy from hohokus said it's 15 here right now. anywhere from 7 to 20 degrees yesterday. so feels like 1 in the hamptons, 3 below the wind chill in greenwich. scanning the skies again. it's nice and quiet. we are going to leave the snow in the forecast. a bit of an i am pulse will slide by and the front rolls in later so a snow flake or two and as the wind intensifies get a squall situation where it limits visibility. these snow showers tomorrow morning it's going to be very cold and the wind starts to fill in. you get a sense of that. the future cast picking up on that gusty northwest wind screaming winds gusting to 40 miles per hour so it's during the course of the day on saturday where you see the numbers tumble and the wind

nasdaq by 16 and s&p 500 lost 22. asian markets lost 5%. morgan stanley is paying up for it's role in the mortgage crisis agreed to fork over $3.1 billion and a settlement with the state of new york. the agreement is what was put together by the obama administration to bring wall street to task for causing the housing market meltdown. it's going to cost extra to visit universal studios florida. it will now cost $105 up $3 from last year putting it on part with disney's magic kingdom for a one day entry. you are supposed to stop at a stop sign but this one is in the middle of the street having

still see the flames and smoke just shooting into the air this morning. there are fire crews from all across new jersey here this morning trying to help crews on scene get this under control. >> the flames sparked before 3: 00 yesterday afternoon sending huge plumes of dark smoke into the blue sky. >> i'm going to request that the dispatch multiple ladder trucks to this. >> it started at 152 route 206 in veterans industrial park and spread to neighboring buildings. you can see the wide spread fire even lighting up trailers as crews work to contain it. >> the other warehouse is totally involved. we do have the wind in our favor right now but if it switches a little more east we are in trouble. >> but the wind did shift helping to spread the flames and causing additional pop up fires from embers.
bitter cold into the night. >> back out here live this is just one location where fire crews are set-up. this is a really large area that they are trying to get under control here. the hillsborough town ship police department last night put out an air quality- -actually they said the air quality is being monitored from the new jersey department of protection and found no issues with air quality but the assessment would be continuing into the overnight hours. keeping an eye on this as of this point no word how this fire started. we know there are several businesses here including a container business and cabinet business. reporting live in summerset county, new jersey andrea grymes cbs 2 news. >> a rookie nypd officer remains free following his conviction of an unarmed man in brooklyn. a jury found the officer guilty of manslaughter and official misconduct.

>> she needed something to talk to. i felt she was in crisis. >> i was just so grateful that mrs. graph was there for her. this helped her. it was therapy. >> maddie's mother thinks graf did what a teacher should do above her job. she's now banned from school and pension and benefits are in jeopardy. >> this is a no good deed goes unpunished. she's set to retire in july and has been put out to pasture by the board of education. >> i want to be back with my kids in the classroom. i need them and they need me. >> students asked for her reinstate but the board cited personal privacy. the hot chocolate violation took place. >> this world if you break the rules you get in trouble for that. >> you got to be careful what you do with somebody else's kid
>> her attorney says she's asking kindly and compassionately for her job back. cbs 2 news. >> the school district did not respond to our repeated request for comment. a congress man demonstrated his support for vapor products by vaporing during a capitol hill hearing. he says there's nothing wrong with vaporing even on planes. that's what the hearing was about. it's banned by most major airlines but the proposal would set a federal ban on the practice. a tennessee congress man says it's time to stop airlines from putting the squeeze on passengers. now seats are fit more people on planes. steve cohen calls for a manditory minimum for airlines seats but it was defeated yesterday. they say those seats really have shrunk. >> over the last ten years

we saw it when we turned a bend less than ten minutes out from this fire so you could still see it even though it's dark out this morning. so far no word on the injuries or the cause. >> the flames sparked before 3: 00 yesterday afternoon sending huge plumes of smoke into the sky. >> i'm going to request you dispatch multiple ladder trucks to this. >> it started at 152 route 206 in industrial park and spread to neighboring buildings. you can see the wide spread fire lighting up trailers parked outside as crews work to contain it. >> be advised the other warehouse is totally involved. we do have the wind in our favor right now but if it switches more east we are in trouble. >> but the wind did shift helping to spread the flames and causing additional pop up fires from embers. firefighters had to battle the bitter cold into the night.
are looking at this fire still burning this morning. we are told firefighters from across new jersey including bergen and essex counties are trying to help get this under control. the hillsborough police department says the new jersey department of environmental protection is monitoring air quality and so far found moe issues but they are continuing to keep an eye on it. we know there are at least several businesses here when we did a check on the address it came back to a container business and cabness business but this fire showing no signs of burning out any time soon. live this morning in summerset county, new jersey andrea grymes cbs 2 news. >> time for traffic and weather on the 2s. 16 degrees out there right now. of course the temperatures don't help firefighters. >> can you imagine? the firefighters have to fight fires, the crews working on roads out there. folks that have to work outside, if that's you you have to pay attention to your body.

see the contrast with the sky and just the enormous amount of smoke and flames that are still fire. after it started. so far no reports of any injuries and no word yet on what started this. >> the flames sparked before 3: 00 yesterday afternoon sending huge plumes of dark smoke into the blue sky. >> be advised i'm going to request that you dispatch multiple ladder trucks to this. >> it started at 152 route 206 in veterans industrial park and spread to neighboring buildings. wide spread fire lighting up trailers as crews work to contain it. >> the other warehouse is totally ungulfed. we do have the wind in our favor but if it switches more east we are in trouble. >> but the wind did shift helping to spread the flames
fires from emnumbers. firefighters also had to battle the bitter cold into the night. >> and it's freezing out here again this morning. you are taking a live look from the ground and chopper 2 live above the scene. firefighters have been called in to help from across new jersey including bergen and essex counties. the hillsborough township police put out a notice around 7:30 saying the new jersey department of environmental protection has found no issues with air quality but that the state was going to be continuing to assess the air overnight. route 206 was shut down for a time because of smoke. it reopened around 1 this morning. as for exactly what's burning we believe a cabinet and container company are part of this fire but we hope to get more information from officials morning. for now reporting live in summerset county, new jersey andrea grymes cbs 2 news.

know before you go firefighters battling a massive fire in hillsborough new jersey broke out yesterday afternoon. plumes of thick black smoke can be seen for miles. no injuries reported. hillsborough schools are closed due to the fire. former police officer pete yeo liang will be sentenced in april. a jury rejects his claim it was accidental. gurley was killed and liang could face up to 15 years. uber is paying $28 million to settle claims it misled customers about safety procedures and fees and charged a fee of $2.30 for background checks on drivers but didn't do the things required of taxi drivers. pope francis is on his way to mexico city for the arrival of the first hispanic pope and will stop in cuba to speak with the head of the russian church before heading to mexico.
