making news in america this morning, big winners on super tuesday. donald trump seemingly unstoppable. >> this has been an amazing evening. >> voters cementing the billionaire's status winning the most states. but it wasn't all trump, ted cruz scoring victories. >> our campaign beats donald soundly. >> and for the democrats, a southern sweep. hillary clinton now with a commanding lead over bernie sanders. >> we have to make america whole.

>> it's "your voice, your vote," live team coverage breaking down the big night, highlights and analysis. good morning on this super wednesday. right to the super tuesday blow-out for donald trump and hillary clinton resonating with voters across the country. >> clinton racked up seven states winning crucial races across the south but sanders still in the game picking up four state, minnesota, colorado and oklahoma. clinton has more than a thousand delegates while sanders is closing in on 400. >> then on the republican side trump also racking up seven states, ted cruz won three races and marco rubio got his first win in minnesota. trump clinched the bulk of the delegates bringing his total to nearly 300. >> republicans handing donald

>> trump delivered his victory speech at his lavish club in palm beach, florida, where the next primary will be in two weeks and took direct aim at hillary clinton and marco rubio. abc's paula faris was there. good morning, paula. >> reporter: reena and kendis, the trump camp tells us they're extremely happy and really the things that stood out the number of first time voters and crossover voters who voted for donald trump on super tuesday. >> we'll make america great again, folks. we'll make it great again. i watched hillary's speech and again. >> reporter: the significance of the fact he had this at headquarters in quarter cannot be lost on anyone. first and foremost florida is marco rubio's home state and lead over rubio. >> i know it was a very tough night for marco rubio. he had a tough night but we he worked hard. he is a lightweight as i said many times before. >> reporter: referencing his

florida, the fact that he had this event at his campaign headquarters at the mar-a-lago which he own, can't overlook that, as well. he's clearly got his sights set on the next couple of weeks. >> sure seems like that, paula, thank you very much. trump congratulated ted cruz on his win in delegate rich texas. >> he won di double digits speaking to abc news cruz used the win as a rallying cry saying he's the only candidate who can beat trump. >> so i hope that republicans instead make the decision let's come together, let's unite behind the only campaign that has beaten donald not once, not twice but three times across the country. >> all right, well, cruz labeled his victories in oklahoma, alaska and texas as a central turning point for his campaign. >> a couple of bright spots for marco rubio.

polls closed, the florida senator spoke to a crude in miami criticizing donald trump. >> five days ago we began to explain to the american people that donald trump is a con artist. and in just five days, we have seen the impact it is having all across the country. we are seeing in state after state his numbers coming down, our numbers going up. >> in his upbeat speech rubio viewed to win his home state of florida later this month. it was a dismal showing for ben carson but the neurosurgeon not ready to give up and told a crowd of 200 people i'm not ready to quit. in every state except alabama he received less than 10% of the vote. >> let's turn to the democrats and hillary clinton was propelled to victory by voters looking for political experience and she steamrolled sanders across the south enjoying strong support from african-american

abc's matt gutman is there. >> reporter: reena, kendis, we saw a very confident hillary clinton here giving what wasn't so much a victory speech but certainly seemed like a speech by a victor in front of an energized crowd here. >> i believe what we need in america today is more love and kindness. >> reporter: earlier as they were waiting for the returns to come in we saw them boo when donald trump was announced as the projected winner of certain stays and cheered loudly when she won states and it seemed that everybody was looking beyond bernie sanders and beyond these primaries. in fact she focused the guts on landing body blows against donald trump. >> this country belongs to all of us, not just those at the top. political establishment, 50% of republicans said yes. only 15% of democrats agreed with that. >> on the flip side when asked should the next president have experience, 81% of democrats in blue said yes. 39% of the republicans in red. they want someone with experience, as well. just not as many. all the candidates on both sides apparently staying in the race despite the commanding leads held by both trump and clinton. >> a little earlier we spoke with our political team. >> the bottom line we have looked through republican divisions and the party is not divided. they're embracing donald trump. you see massachusetts and alabama and tennessee and arkansas and all these states regional diversity and ideological diversity inside the party and the thing is if you judge a party by its voters donald trump owns this party right now. it's just that the leaders are saying something different and they're not comfortable with it. the voters are speaking very clearly and very similarly across states. >> clinton looks absolutely

well, breaking overnight astronaut scott kelly returning to earth after spending nearly a year abroad on the international space station. kelly and a russian cosmonaut landed in kazakhstan just hours ago. you can see kelly right there. 'being helped out of the capsule clearly animated looking well and he said that he didn't feel much different than he did after his five-month-long mission five years ago and heads to a home homecoming in houston where he'll be reunited with his daughter, girlfriend and twin brother mark. severe weather in the south has injured at least four people in alabama. the national weather service has confirmed at least one tornado and two other potential twisters. the tornado near birmingham seriously damaged at least a dozen homes then there was this. snow. triggering a couple of runway

one private jet slid off the runway while an american airlines jet slid on a taxiway and had to be towed back to the terminal. no one was injured. that storm system is now moving east stretching from georgia to new england. it could be a wet commute for the major cities on the east coast. well, also breaking overnight a chemical leak following a train derailment. 14 cars went off the tracks near buffalo, new york. two of those cars were carrying ethanol and they are now leaking. the sheriff says a fire station is down the street so the about evacuate. >> looking past super tuesday to the next battleground states. >> and more tearful testimony. erin andrews on the stand in the lawsuit facing grueling cross-examination. a skyscraper set to unveil a

leaders don't appear to have changed their minds. they're standing by their commitment to not consider a new justice until after the elections in november. democratic leader harry reid joked that the group spent a lot of time talking about baseball. well, it was the second day of emotional testimony from sportscaster erin andrews in the civil suit she brought against her stalker and a hotel in nashville. the "dancing with the stars" host admitting that she remains anxious and depressed after naked videos of her were posted online years ago. and andrews went through a list of things she now does after checking into a hotel. >> i instantly cover the peephole. i look for lights, red light. look to see if there's cameras, i check the bed, i check the alarm clock, i check the fining. >> under cross-examination, andrews admitted her career was taken off since those naked videos were posted. andrews is stewing her stalker million.

coming under daily cyberattack. the ceo of duke energy that serves more than 7 million customers most across the southeast and midwest tells the associated press the sheer number of those attacks is astounding and he says these are not homegrown hackers working out of their basements. they're cyberattacks coming from foreign governments trying to penetrate systems. new this morning apple filed an appeal in its high-profile dispute with the fbi. they filed the objection last night in california. the fbi wants the company to create software that will hack into the iphones of one of the san bernardino shooters. yesterday the fbi director admitted to lawmakers that it was a mistake when the fbi asked the county which owned the phone to reset the password for the gunman's icloud account. had it not been reset the phone would have been updated and the fbi could have read that information. and a man who led police on an hour's long chase across orange county, california, is now in custody.
