out of their homes in south milwaukee. it happened around 11:30 last night.... near 13-th and manistique. authorities say... the fire started in a kitchen in one of the units... then went to the attic.the people living in the house were able to get out safely before firefighters got there.the red cross is now helping the families impacted. 3 west allis police have released survelience video of a robbery suspect running away... after shooting a customer inside a cricket wireless store earlier this week. cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live with a closer look at the video. the cricket wireless store here at 108th and national was closed yesterday as police continued their investigation. take a look at the video of the suspect running away.west allis police say the suspect went to the store just before 7 wednesday night-armed with either a sawed off shot gun or a short barreled long gun,

was shot.the man then took off and you can see money flying from his pockets as he runs away.police describe him as a black man-between mid-teens and early 20s and about 6 feet tall. his hair is described dreadlocks recently unwoven or cut. the suspect was wearing a long sleeved black hooded sweatshirt with some type of red logo on the front, dark colored jeans and tan boots. anyone with information should contact west allis police. we should also mention.... police victim are not life threatening. 3 milwaukee police are hoping you can help them identify ?two? people.. who chased after a man with their car--- then ?shot? him.it happened wednesday night at 76-th and chambers.the victim is expected to be okay.if you have any information on these men--- call milwaukee police.

the legal battle over brendan for now. and the teen suspect depictn the "making a murderer" series..is staying behi bars.rs.there were half a rulings d filings just in the past .e latest decision coming yesterday from the 7th circuit court of appeals... which overruled a lower court that said dassey needed to be released by eight p-m today.legal experts tell us that while dassey's lawyers have some options... they aren't likely to work... and so the best guess right now... is that dassey sts in priso his overturned conviction is made. 3 avery attorney kathleen zellner tweeted out this message last night saying "do not despair just fight harder. every exoneration is the result of neever quitting." 3 stay with cbs 58 as we continue to follow the legal battle surrounding this case. 3 a milwaukee man is charged with kicking his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. milwaukee police it happened when she asked "hector acevedo" to leave... after finding text messages between him and another woman.

acevedo vandalized the victim's home and car.it does not say anything about how acevedo was injured. 3 vandalism... broken windows.... break-ins a milwaukee business owner says... it's happening ?too often.?now he wants more police officers on the south side. but the request is causing controversy among the city council. cbs 58's julie parise is live in the newsroom.she has the story. barber shop owner tony garnica says the city needs to do something to help protect south side residents -- and he has a group of city aldermen on his side aldermen bob donovan, mark borkowski, tony zielinski and jose perez sent a letter to police chief ed flynn, asking him to deploy more officers to the city's south side.that letter says 215 officers are not enough to protect the 220- thousand people who live in the area. common council president ashanti hamilto n blasted the aldermen for making that request. in a press release he called their

irresponsiblebut tony garnica says -- the city needso do something. making national news...at least one person is dead after a shooting at a toddler' tennessee.police say sev other people were also hit by gunfire. according to neighbors... a 21-year-old woman was killed. she's also reportedly the mother of the 2- year-old who's birthday was being celebrated.neighbors believe the shooting was ng ga related. poce are searching for up to the people they believe were responsible. the minnesota officer charged with fatally shooting a black man at a trfic stop over the summer... is due in court today. today.jeronimo yanez is accused of second-degree manslaughter for the death of

incident was livestreamed by castile's girlfriend...who was in the car with her daughter at the time. 3 thick smoke billows over the north carolina mountains as wildfires burn uncontrollably. firefighters are working to contain the flames -- but the dry land isn't helping their fi. fight.north carolina's governor says the fires have caused more than 12-million dollars in damage.and that number is only expected to rise.as investigators try to find out how these fires started... the governor's office issued a 10-thousand dollar reward for any information on who started them . owner on the south side who says vandalism and break-ins happen too often -- he says he hopes to see more police in his area soon. jessica? 3 a milwaukee woman says... her neighborhood is getting too dangerous.she's talking to cbs 58... after bullets hit a neighbor's home. the shooting happened at 36-th and mt vernon on the coty's west side yesterday. witnesses tell us... about 20 shots were fired during what they think was a drug deal. one neighbor in particular... wants it known they need more police 2:28:13-17 i've caleld the alderman too and told them we need more police presense around here2;29:15-25 i have my grandson every day during the week and i'm afraid to come out on the porch because you know, what's going to happen? if he gets shot or i get shot... i mean it's getting scary around here here 3 milwaukee police confirm two men were shot -- a 20 and 21 year old -- but have not said what led up to the shooting. they were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. 3 police are waiting on video to

the train tracks in mukwonago. they're holding 22-year-old brandon calkins on seperate charges of battery, disorderly conduct and resisting police. the criminal complaint says he pushed the woman onto the tracks. she passed out... and an oncoming train severed her arm. a mother is now suing the milwaukee county jail after her newborn died there back in july.the former prisoner claims the staff ?ignored? her. now she wants ?eight-and-a-half (m) million d. dollars.24-34 "shade' stood up because her water had broken sh informed the deputy, hey, i'm going into labor, and the deputy simply laughed and kept " moving." the attorney for sha-day swayzer says the baby was born alive.. but they claim staff didn't check on her for six hours after she had given birth... and by then the baby was dead.since april, three adult prisoners have died at the milwaukee county jail.so far, no comment from the sheriff's office, which oversees the jail. 3 3 take a look at this. west allis police have released survellence video showing a

in your money watch report... the rift between the new york times and donald trump appears to be paying off for the news service. paid subscriptions are way up across the new york times print and digital platforms.. in the week since the presidential election. election.the times added 41- thousand subscriptions-- the largest increase since 2011. in a recent series of tweets.. trump said the quote- "fools" at the new york times were "losing thousands of subscribers" because of its coverage. the surge is a on to an organi advertising revenue and staff reductions. the times' executive editor attributed the surge to the paper's quote- "strong, aggssive coverage and scoops." 3 the feds are slapping j-p- morgan chase... with a 264 (m) million dollar fine for ?bribery.?the company has agreed to pay the fine.... for hiring friends and family members of chinese officials. the practice was to help the bank ?get lucrative deals in china.?the settlement ends a three-year investigation on violations of the "foreign
