exchange students who are celebrating their first thanksgiving.the tradition dates back to the 19-40's when a dental professor would cook dinner for his students.. and when he died the university decided to keep it going. 3 and up in port washington.. nisleit's (nis-light's) county inn served free thanksgiving meals each november.when they decided to close down... the new owners continued the 20 year tradition of giving back. general wooster's saloon and grill served up all the regular fixins..and asked that if you are able to donate back to the public.workers also delivered meals to seniors who use meals on wheels.. which is closed today. if you watched this morning's macy's thanksgiving day parade - you may have seen some familiar faces.the greendale marching band and its distrinctive green and black uniforms made quite the impression before a crowd of millions.cbs 58's evan kruegel is here to show us more..evan.. the band actually applied for the honor ?two? years ago - and only found out in april that they'd been selected... today they took to the streets

iconic events in america." we did reach out to the band this afternoon to see how the day went... they tell us they had a great time - and were treated to a cruise on the hudson river following today's performance. bill/michele? thanksgiving is a day to spend with friends and family..but a group of wisconsin volunteers are in north dakota to make sure pipeline protesters have full meals for the holiday. holiday.volunteers in west salem collected po food...much of it donated from local businesses.they left early yesterday morning to join people protesting the dakota access pipeline. they say they want to make sure everyone there gets a good meal this thanksviving. "we were like we need to do something. we have a call to arms kind of and we have this great bus, which really enables us to take a lot out there and bring a lot of people out there so we started talking about it and made it ha" happen." the group cooked all the meals they could today then donated the rest of the food to other

families were celebrating.a game also attended by the mayor.no one at the game was hurt.no word yet on a motive. it looks like there will be a recount of presidential votes in wisconsin. wisconsin.green party candidate jill stein, who finished a distant fourth in the state, says she will file the request.cbs 58's kristen barbaresi joins us with the details. stein plans to challenge results in three states-- all won by donald trump...but she claims the recount is not about who won, but rather of problems with the process. donald trump won wisconsin by about one percentage point, or roughly 27,000 votes,results being challenged by former green party candidate jill stei. stein. there were lots of hacks taking place around this elections. hacks in to voter databases, hacks in to party databases, individual email accountsstein believes voting machines could also be hacked, though she acknowledges there is no indiciation that happened. happened. i don't think we have evidence of that. but i think it's only natural and

reassured that our votes are counted.talk of a recount began when computer scientists at the university of michigan urged hillary clinton to challenge results in wisconsin, michigan and pennsylvania 3 these professors ran some data and they said there are these isolated outliers. why did this area have so many fewer democratic votes than another area? i think that's not necessarily proof that something hinkey is going on. still political expert mordecai lee says recounts are a common part of the and so for somebody from afar to say hey 27,000 isn't a lot, lets double check and be sure, i think that's understandable. stein is funding the recounts in the three states through an online fundraiser-- which already raised more than 4.2 million of the 4.5 million dollar goal. the official deadline to file a recount request in wisconsin is tomorrow-stein says she will be able to meet that deadline. 3 three 13-year-old's under

3,2,1, go! go! and if exercising ?before? a big meal is good for you then...these people have the right idea. close to three thousand people spent thanksgiving morning running around miller park for the annual "drumstick dash 5-k" people were racing to the finish line for a good cause.. th e5-k is also a food drive to benefit "feeding america of eastern wisconsin." for every dollar donated...feeding america says it can provide three meals to a person in need. 3 running for feeding america.. others played football for the hunger task force.this is the 17th year for the turkey bowl in west allis... a game to play before settling in on the couch to watch the pros.the group collects food and monitary donations and then drops it all off at hunger task force tomorrow. 3 some other runners made time for a five-k ?and? church this morning.it's the 8th annual

trot in cedarburg. the community was invited to attend mass at 8:30 am...followed by a 5-k run. then everyone was invited for free coffee, hot chocolate and treats. 3 and lambeau field morphed into a massive dinning room today. for the 14th year, the christian outreach ecumenical hosted the one-hour meal.the dinner was free but reservations were needed.it took some 400 volunteers to make it happen.
