happening now...thousands of workers here locally and across the country... are expected to strike this morning and throughout the day.. demanding better pay and benefits. this is a live look at a mcdonalds resturant on 9th and north avenue in milwaukee... where protesters are expected to show any time now. 3 dollar hourly wage. 3 now to a cbs 58 exclusive... the family of a milwaukee teenager.. killed in a car crash.. wants to make sure the driver of that car never gets behind the wheel again. shawn oliver was killed in the accident earlier this month at 27th and capitol. that's where cbs 58's julie parise is live this morning with the new details. julie? police say this intersection

very last breath. he was killed when officers say the car he was a passenger in tried to escape police -- but instead hit another car 18-year-old samira coleman-willks was behind the wheel of a chevrolet. according to the criminal complaint, officers unsucessfully tried to pull her over second before that crash.butshe instead sped off -- going 83 miles per hour. seconds later, officers say they heard a large crash sound and saw a large cloud of smoke. on the ground without a pulse. his family tells us - he had never met coleman-willks before, and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. he was loved by everyone. he was loved. shawn was a good kid. there was another person injured in the accident -- he is still recovering in the hospital. according to a search warrant -- there was marijuana found in coleman-willks' car after the crash. she says she doesn't remember anything about the accidentshawn oliver's funeral happens tomorrow. live in

there's renewed talk about tougher drunk driving laws... after a caledonia father and daughter were killed in a crash last week.this is the second drunk driving arrest for 25-year-old levi who appeared in court yesterday... on charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. vehicle.police say he was drinking at a strip club and drove his pick-up into the back of a car-- driven by 39-year-old kevin dalley.. killing him.. his 9-year-old daughter emily.. and hug the family car had slowed down to pull into the subdivision where they lived. 48-1:06"every time a person takes a key, and put it in the ignition of an automobile, they now have the opportunity to exercise the power of life and death. for everybody they come in contact with. when we see these happen, like we did in caledonia, that just really brings this all to the forefront." 3 in january.. lawmakers plan to push for legislation that would make a fourth drunk

right now it's the fifth. ruo-honen's defense attorney says he's being closely monitored by mental health professionals behind bars. he's due in court again next week. looking ahead..the milwaukee man accused of drowning his 3- month-old son in a pond ...will make his plea in court today.sean flowers junior is charged with first degree intentional homicide. according to the criminal complaint... flowers was upset with how the baby's mother was dancing at a family party. witnesses say he held his 3-month-old son underwain him....fighting off attempts from others to free the baby. court records show.. in the past.. flowers was accused of domestic violence against the baby's mother. 3 milwaukee police are asking for help identifying several people wanted in conneciton to an armed robbery at a george webb.surveillance video shows them in the restaurant near 21st and mitchell street last tuesday. police say they stole money from the cash register.. and also took money and a cell phone from a customer.they all left in a black four-door car. if you have any information... you're asked to call milwaukee

wisconsin's presidential recount will start thursday... but that's ?only? if the green party's jill stein can cut a check for 3-pont-five million dollars by 4-30 this afternoon. afternoon.cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live from the newsroom with a closer look at the recount effort. kyle? stein also filed another lawsuit requiring the recount be done by hand. by law, the recount needs to be finished by december 13. the election commision says is going to be tighor counties the wisconsin election commission, which is made up of 3 republicans and 3 democrats, set a timeline for getting those ballots recounted.they spent monday compiling an estimated cost-- which jill stein will need to pay in full by 4:30 today. then wednesday-- county clerks will be trained on how to conduct the recount-- which will start thursday.but the election commission does not expect the outcome to change by much. 00;30;46 it will be very

3 roads are wet this morning watch for slick spots as you hit the roadswatch it on the interchanges as well as those on and off ramps.the i-41/us-45 sb will be closed at bluemound rd. through the zoo interchange for roadwork. the i-894/i-41 nb stretch will be closed at greenfield ave. through the zoo for road and electrical work.drivers take note that the water st. bridge leading into the historic third ward is now closed until will undergo some upgrades to its locking system. drivers should use alternates to get around this closure.another reminder that the i-41/894 sb exit ramp to greenfield ave. is now closed through the summer of 2018 for reconstruction. the on ramp from greenfield ave. to i- 41/894 sb will close through the fall of 2017. also closing long term, the lincoln ave. exit ramp from i-894 sb is expected to remain that way through summer of 2018. traffic along the i-894 southbound corridor will shift to the west or right side of the roadway starting at lincoln ave.a reminder that the i-41/us-45 sb systerm ramp to i-94 eb is now closed long term until spring 2017. this will have an impact on your morning drive.drivers will want use the following detours. watertown plank rd to hwy 100 and rejoin at the rampbluemound rd. to 84th st on ramp to i-94 eb or for

guard has been activated to help fire crews battling the blaze. hena daniels, cbs news. it started raining lightly last night in the gatlinburg area.. and forecasters say the rain should be heavy later today. fire crews are hoping the rain brings some help and relief. 3 3 new details this morning .. on a deadly plane crash in colombia...a plane carrying a brazilian soccer team. authorities say they've found a sixth survivor...however one of the survivors, a goalkeeper for the team, hasied. seventy-six people are confirmed dead. plane crashed near rnegro, lombia, according to the country's civil aviation department. nine cremembers were also on board. 3 authorities in ohio are trying to figure out what led a somali refugee to attack students and staff at ohio state university.police say abdul-razak ali artan mowed down and stabbed at least 11 people on the school's columbus campus monday morning...before he was shot and killed by a university police officer.the incident is being investigated as an act

now to a developing story... jill stein is expected to hand in a check for 3-and-a-half million dollars later today to pay for the recount effort here in wisconsin. wisconsin.if she does that before 4:30 today, the recount is scheduled to get underway on thursday and will have to be completed in less than 2 wee. weeks.cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live in studio with a closer look at the work ahead. 3 training volunteers for the recount will begin later today. the green party will host a training session for recount "suburban bourbon" in muskego starting at 6-30.attorney robert fritakis will host the traning.he's a member of jill stein's legal team and was involved in the 20-04 recount in ohio.clerks in most of wisconsin's 72 counties are now said to be looking to hire temporary workers to help. 33-47the cost, while it would be reimbursed, may not be the biggest challenge. it may be finding enough individuals to schedule them to be working during december when they did

3 3 now to a cbs 58 exclusive...for the first time we are hearing from the family of a milwaukee teenager killed in a dramatic car crash. 19-year-old shawn oliver was killed in the accident earlier this month. it happened at 27th and capil.that's where julie parise is live there this morning...with new julie? shawn oliver's family tells us -- they don't want the driver of the car to get behind the wheel ever again. this search warrant reveals details of just how that crash happened. officers say the young driver was trying to escape police, but instead hit another car here at this intersection. 18-year-old samira coleman-willks was behind the wheel of a chevrolet. according to the criminal complaint, officers unsucessfully tried to pull
