vdot says the cold temperatures ahead of this storm will cause conditions to change quickly. officials suggest drivers change their travel plans to avoid going out during height of the storm. they say if you do plan to go out- try to wait until later in the week. crews will also wait to treat low volume roads- or neighborhood streets until the snow stops. now the cold pavement and low overnight temperatures means the snow and ice will stick around.so if you don't have to be out tonight- stay indoors. bill - you mentioned a solution v-dot using to pre-treat roads- how will that help?travell, crews

you are being safe while taking those snapshots. a henry county deputy is recovering after crashing his cruiser early this morning.it happened on greensboro road at the intersection of tens-bury drive.the sheriff's office says deputy z-b smith was responding to a call about a person threatening to jump off the river hill bridge. investigators say deputy smith's cruiser-- ran off the road-- went into the kentucky fried chicken parking lot-- and flipped.the deputy was airlifted to roanoke hospital. police say the person threatening to jump off that bridge was taken for a mental evaluation. in campbell countystate police now say speed was a factor in a one car crash that killed 3 people - including a child.it happened just before 10 oclock last night on route 622.police say david johnson was driving east when the car ran off the side of the road- hit a mailbox- then an embankment. officials say johnson, his passengers- micalynn white and 1-year-old kylin johnson died in the crash. wfxr news is your local

tonight- we want to show you a love story that spans decades- between a virginia veteran- and a british woman.norwood and joyce fell in love during world war 2- but a misunderstanding pulled them apart.ivan watson reports- 70 years later- they reconnected. 19-23150-157 norwood thomas never stopped thinking about joyce morris.the pair first met in 1944.she, a 17-year-old british girl living in london he, a 21-year-old paratrooper for the u.s. forces.young love blossomed.
